Yamaha's mid-capacity twist-and-go scooter has a lot going for it.
Quick enough to tackle the open road, yet agile enough for the city, it's a machine we think deserves more attention than it gets.
We spent some time with the XMAX earlier this year to find out what it is like to live with this premium scooter. And you can read our written review on our website: www.carolenash.com/tips-guides/bike-reviews/detail/reviewed-yamaha-xmax-300

ZEEHO: AE6 & AE8S , A Quick Look at CFMOTO's Electric Wing
Hi: I am having Dunlop Raid installed on my 2023 Honda CRF 150 L. I ruined the knobby tires that came on the CRF by driving mostly on pavement. I do not do much trail riding now, mostly riding paved winding steep mountain roads, very sharp corners. I have high hopes that the performance will be better, especially in the rain. Wish me luck on that. I am now 70.
I'm the same height and i/s leg as you. After seeing some videos on this bike I've been a bit uncertain as to whether it's suitable for me. You've reassured me it is. I think it is a brilliant machine for touring distance in comfort, the requirement for a GT badge, speed and torque, economy, handling, on bends as well as off road, price, what's not to like? Of course, nothing is perfect for everyone, but this must be as good as it gets. And it's a British design bringing Triumph back into the top league.
It's seems that it gets an updated dash in some other countries, I've watched a spanish vlogger with that model and his has a neat looking round TFT dash. I wonder when it'll be coming to the UK.
The Honda PCX 125 is the best❤
I'm really close to pulling the trigger on this. I've had as small as a CB 350 to a Victory Bagger with 1700cc so displacement is not a factor for me. The small touring bike scene is so underserved, especially here in the US were displacement and horsepower seem to be preferred (at least by the manufacturers). The only issue for me is that it's only in black (2024) or white (2025). My two least favorite colors for vehicles, lol.
London to Paris for a fun romantic weekend would be fun on it.
Love mevbusa❤
If you're reviewing a scooter, some facts would be useful; top speed, fuel consumption, handling, brake performance, suspension over rough roads for starters...
Nice review. I am looking for an ADV bike to replace my R1250GS that might possibly see me to the end of my biking days. I tour in Europe at least twice a year and ride regularly in the UK, including the winter. I am also looking to lower my costs. I think the upgrades are very sensible and clever. I am glad they didn't go for electronic suspension.
Just got my brand new Dunlop Roadsmart 4 for my 2023 Kawasaki Ninja 1000 SX. Cannot be more happy... But living in Ontario, Canada means that I will ride those tires in April 2025...Good job, dunlop ! Et encore une fois bravo pour la fabrication de si bons pneus!
is it good for delivery job? im near to buy it
Horrible looking and way too expensive now. A last of the new (if any are left) or lightly used 1250 is now the smart money 😉 And contrary to general messaging, you dont actually NEED the new one.... the old "has been" is still totally brilliant
I've been on an mt09 for a few years and have been curious about adv riding, but I can only have 1 bike and I'm worried an adv won't be as much fun in the mountain twisties. Out of all the review videos I've watched, yours was the only which addressed this scenario. Even in their "corner carving" videos, most are only doing like 45mph. Of course the bike can handle that. But what about at 65? Or 75? How close to a naked sportbike can an adv get?
We’re still getting the CB500F for 2025 in North America. I like the newer headlight and the updated dash on the Hornet. Plus you guys always get a better colour selection than us. 😢 LOL
About to do my A2. Can't wait to get the RC 390
Like those earrings da da
Best looking gs they’ve built so far
I visited the bike today. Not impressed. Looks like a toaster riding down the road. I am keeping my 1250 GSA. I am sure others will love it.
A couple of points to make. I’ve insured with CN for a lot of years and will be picking up my new GSA soon but there now seems to e a problem insuring bikes over £20k. I use a Monimoto tracker which is not on your list but is now one of the most popular in the UK and I’m told having a tracker makes a difference. So just what do we all need to have in place to get insurance on a 20k+ bike. Would appreciate some advice as I’d like to remain with your company. Thanks
good bike !!!
Is that 60mph or kph top speed?
Yes, It tops at 100km/h (60mph)
Wow ...
Does C&N load 125s that look sporty with fairings or an R in the name, vs the naked version of the same bike? Such as the gsx125s against the gsx125r
Kickstand is a total deal breaker and a widowmaker
Am Kato Richards from mbarara western Uganda am interested in this cub how much and how can j get it let me know oke thanks
What is the top speed?
I have had one for over 5 years and have never heard the chirping due to wearing ear plugs when I ride. In regards to low down torque ( the bike weighs 265kg ) be realistic and appreciate that. The balance between torque and fuel economy is a tough deal to achieve. It's not a grunt bike it's far smarter than that. C'mon fella I think you lost the plot
It's interesting how inline fours became "old school" seemingly overnight. Soon it will be like trying to find a car with a v8.
Great review feels bigger and more raw and a loot faster then Street triple rs✊🔥
Brilliant Scooter. 3 Month trip, 8500km around Greece from Switzerland. Perfect storage and perfect for zipping around cities. Love it.
Sixteen kilos less than the honda made me buy the z500se
Wow
Yes I have one riding motorcycle from 90cc to 1400cc from 1970 and this is a great machine Till you try to insure it have been told by many insurance brokers that they won't touch it reasons given its a trike its dangerous and unsuitable on the road the company I was with insured me for near a year then I tried to add a bsa goldstar 650 to policy that's when they said sorry we don't insure the tricks but will let it run to end of term as for yourselves I contacted you about insuring a 1970 yamaha yas1 wouldn't touch it no expectation given what a great broker carol nash was back in the 2000s
Nice to hear a honest opinion about true MPG, and weight of these bikes to manhandled into your shed...
What’s a millimeter. Who’s zed? Zeds dead baby.
I Just bought one this week V7 Special!! 😍 Been over ten years without riding a bike! I got on it, rode it out of the dealership, and like magic, it felt to me that I have owned it for decades!! It has such a natural & neutral riding feeling!! I Love It Already!! Clutch is so smooth, as also the gearbox. I come from thirty years of owning Ducatis, though this V7 is sooo easier to ride!! There's everything one would need in a Moto Guzzi V7 Special! Style, Character, Fun!! This will be my final bike for sure! This is where my heart will lay! Many Compliments for the review!!
Which country is this?
UK 🇬🇧
nice review; thanks!
No clutch is very nice. Wonder how it works in 8 figures or between trafic since DCT is lagging in this manner in relatiin to regular shifting.
My biggest concern is about yamaha under seat storage,no place for helmet, this is sick
If i lived in London/ any other big city, I would have bought this bike without a second thought. It does, however, look like a thief magnet so taking the batteries with you every time you park it in a public place could be a hassle.
Depends on the city. I've noticed in my city people leave their nice bikes out when running errands. But yes. Definitely put in in a locked garage overnight
Which is more restful for 100 milles sort trip ?
What's the mileage of this beauty
Good, concise review and I agree with the conclusions. Had mine for about 6 months and done about 4K miles. I love it. For UK roads it's pretty much spot on.

6,3 here , which one is more comfy ?
Bikes look great
I rode one as a demo bike when my Duke 890R was in for a service. The seating position was absolutely spot on for me and handled really well, I felt at ease on the bike within minutes. Styling is subjective, but certainly make it stand out from other bikes around at the moment, however the price tag suggest you pay for that, certainly compared to the KTM it's based upon. I'd highly recommend a test ride, just wish it had a bit more zip for me. Same bike with a 890 engine would be very nice indeed!
Looks really good, hope the camshaft is better in this.
why would they be different? It is the same thing with different plastics.
What’s the difference between a ‘ colour way’ and a Colour? Just marketing BS. Please don’t insult us by using it.
I think colour way is an Americanism similar to straight away. I could be wrong! Slava Ukraine !🇺🇦
