'I betcha the guy in red is on roids.' Accusations like that say more about the accuser. Dude, he clearly didn't mean to do that, there was nothing he could have done when the weight shifted badly mid throw.

The title is misleading. I'm not sure if I saw anything controversial other than the 2 pt takedown that took some extra time to get called. An official might interpret Red shoving Blue out of bounds, but blue should be working back to the mat and Red is just wrestling. So nothing to call there. I was surprised with the reaction from the crowd. It is a Slam, when the Red wrestler returns the Green wrestler on their head. No official should see it differently. It is not an intentional slam. Red is trying to put his opponent directly to his back, and if done in control, completely legal. The moment Red takes Green into the air, Red is responsible for getting Green back to the mat safely. For everyone that thinks this slam was legal, these are high school kids. How many times do I need to drop you on your head before you agree it should be illegal?

There was nothing wrong with that slam. If that was a real ref, that would’ve been the end of the match because he was square on his back. And you can tell the mom doesn’t know what she’s talking about. She’s the type of mom to say “you suck” to the wrestler who won even tho they just beat her kids ass. If I’m being honest I’m really upset the ref wasn’t doing his job because it wouldn’t have caused all this. That was a beautiful return to the back. Got his head, lifted him from the crotch, and properly maneuvered him to his back in the air. Beautiful return that would’ve ended the match, but the ref has no clue what he’s doing

If you’re in the comments saying he faked an injury or comparing this to a knock out win you never wrestled and don’t understand the rules especially for highschool . Sending your opponents airborn and forcefully slamming them with your weight coming down on top of them is 100% illegal in highschool wrestling and the kid getting disqualified was the right move. No one needs to get a broken neck In highschool wrestling it’s not that serious. The kid literally got slammed on his neck with the opponents weight to add to it. What is there to fake. These are kids competing man not grown men in the Olympics

I think the real controversy stems from how red picked blue up around the neck (at 5:00). It looks like red had his arm around blue's neck and some can deem that as a neck hold or choke which is illegal. Also, driving an opponent head first into the mat (5:06) is also illegal. Some could say it was excessive force which is also illegal. That said, I do think it was all done unintentionally.

Albeit this video is like 9 years ago, it shows a few key take-aways. First, win or lose wrestling builds character. I am certain the wrestler who was dominated will never -ever- let that happen to him again on/off the mat. Any wrestler understands this as WE have all been there before. Shit Happens! Suck it up and move on as tomorrow is another day to get better and learn from the previous match win or lose. I saw nothing that was out of the norm besides the slap/push-out. Where's the controversy? Blue and white were losing from the get; they only knew how to go out the circle, so I clearly missed how he won. Can't stand wannabe bleacher ref's who apparently knows not the first rule of wrestling. Toughen ya boy up cause he was struggling out there. The guy recording the video must not understand reality or wrestling..... There was no foul. The way the guy going down twisted his body and had is what resulted in him being hurt, and that's part of the sport. Listening to the guy recording and saying shit about roid was pathetic.
