Nice power set up, and now you have a lot of power gen, I’d get some deep drills going before your atmospherics set up. This will give you passive ore gen for all those mats you will need for atmospherics and base building later. The easy route is electric centrifuges you will need 2.3 electric centis per deep drill. I personally run 3 deep 7 centis per section. It’s really easy to program them to auto dump when full too. Another game changer is the sensor lenses they are arguably the best tool in the game! All you need is an advanced furnace and some fuel gas. You dropped in with a 4MPa fuel tank. Make 50g of inconel. You can use the reminder inconel for nuclear batteries. You will need a GPR chip from the tool printer too. With these things resources will be simple
All of this! Except I'd do 6 electric centrifuges (6 ports on an ic chip) to 3 deep miners with a silo and stacker for dirty ore. Which I usually double eventually. Then you need silos, sorters, stackers, etc for your ores. And I never put fuel gas into my advanced furnace until late game. 1 ice oxide and 2 ice volatiles per needed. Empty waste gases for best results.
Hmm yes good idea. The next 2 episodes are lined up already but we will have to wait for gases to fill up so I think I will do deep mining there. We will need even more since I plan to set up the layout and design for the final base soon.
@@BeepSurvives I would still do deep miners first. Then you don't have to mine as much.

The bread is a lie. 😂 -Also, it's easier to build pipes/cables/etc using only straight and curved pieces while having the tool in other hand. -Transformers also use 10w from output side. So I usually set to 4990. Similar for heavy Transformers set to 49990, and use 2 to max out a 100kw cable.

-use signs as thumbnail? -jetpack can be any gas. -advanced airlock might be faster. Although not necessary on the moon. -I find the moon harder than mars because no storms for wind power. -upgraded tools are unnecessary. (Made for extreme environments) Except for arc welder, heavy miner, and sensor lenses.

Yes the jetpack can use any gas, i just prefer Nitrogen since its a big part of the breathable air mix that's common. plus its inert, so no biggies if i fat finger the jetpack on in the wrong spot/room. Yes, Mars has storms, which provide a great boost in power if you have wind power. Yes upgraded tools are quite unnecessary, except for the welder/miner belts and suit upgrades. I prob still will make them anyway just because. Edit : Oh and yes, Advanced Airlocks are not needed on the moon, i just like the idea of them (and wanted to make sure iunderstood how they functioned since we will need them on mars) we will be going to normal airlocks soon, a refit to them so to speak. We have some major improvements coming up, stay tuned!

Another useful automation is the ic chip in the hard suit. Love it. BTW, the ic chip does all this in a smaller package. MIPPS programming is worth learning/playing with. Many plug and play programs on steam.

Mars solar is pointless. Maybe 4 basic solar total. All the rest wind and station/large batteries. Live between storms. Eventually having 10 wind turbines (10k each maxing out the 100k heavy cable during storms) to large batteries. Then to 2 large transformers (set to 49990 because transformers use 10). Output of these 2 maxes a 100k backbone power line. From there have station battery to small transformer (set to 4990). Output from small transformer uses normal coil wire at 5k max. Transformers separate the data networks as well. No need for area controllers.
@@NoHypocrisy42 solar on mars is kinda good. If the solar pnl tracking program is set right that’s almost 500W ea per pnl. That’s the same as the moon Vulcan and Venus (unless you have a mod) as well if palace em in a box they are storm proof.
@BayalinAlamain I've placed them inside and still have taken damage. Also, if one is in the shade of the other, it gets less light. On the moon, the angle is closer to 90°.
@ there is a bug in the game where if the inside of a room is the same as the world, things inside will take storm dmg. Easy fix for this is vacuum seal the room, or set the internal pressure to like 5. For the shadow issue, place them in a checkerboard pattern, they will still shade ea other, but only in the sun rise/set times

First food you want to push for is canned fries. Lack of better food will have negative consequences. 100% max hydration for instance. And getting out of your suit as much as possibly is important also. My first base is 5x5. Furnaces and generator outside. Crafting and storage inside. Loose the chests asap.
Early on gather food/water in drop pod, and crates. The boxes 📦 of stuff are OP. the portable generator is fantastic is beginning. The portable cooler is op. Especially later on. Meh at first. Never take the eggs out of the box 📦. Last longer. But there are cabinets in there too. Often I put 2 lights up high on stacked walls (like a tower). Makes for a great beacon at night.
For cooling use 2 insulated pipes with radiators outside. One side active vent to fill from outside. Fill from 1k-2k. Other side wall cooler inside. Run once in a while to prevent freezing, then loss of atmosphere. Switch to an advanced airlock. Set pressures to 0 for faster operation. Insulated vent for outside one. 2 active vents.All Insulated pipes. To prevent freezing/bursting. Any pipes on a wall that burst, empty that space as well. Basically always use Insulated pipes. Big push early on is sensor glasses with ore chip. And the heavy miner. Gamechanger. Next is wind power and big batteries. Wind makes 10k each in a storm. Live between storms. Then deep miners, centrifuges, silos, fun fun fun.
Pipes burst because= -air pipe has liquid in it. Because temp in pipe is too cold. -freezing liquid causes extreme damage to air pipes. =liquid pipes just don't care. Unless frozen! There is a liquid wall cooler.

if you are using the guide from the wiki, its outdated now. mainly for solar tracking. In the past with the daylight sensor facing up, the Vertical would read from 90 (noon or 12 o'clock) to 0 (midnight or 6 o'clock). the Horizontal would read 0 to 359/360 where 0 is direction the sensor date port faced. Thus via the wiki, the reason why you added 90 to the Vertical was to shift the 0 to the 3 o'clock position, "tilt it on its side". Now (solar sensor face up) Vertical reads how "high in the sky" the sun is to the horizon. as well the Horizontal reads 0 to 180 then -180 back to 0. i havent done any testing to fix my solar tracking scripts, but i have fixed my grow light script part. This is what i do: i take the Horizontal angle of the sensor add 180, changing to read 0-360. then a little math, almost all plants need 8hrs (8 min real time) of light and 5 darkness. Ea day is 20min long so: 360/20=18, 18deg per min. you need at 8 of light. so lets say you want 14hrs of light, the rest dark. 14*18=252. so a compare unit-set less than, memory-set 252 to batch writer to turn the grow lights on. As for grow lights you have WAYYYYY to many!!! a single grow light can handle up to a 7x7 area. the "center" point of a grow light is the side where the power port is.
Ok cool. The solar tracking is going over my head currently, but i think i understand the grow light timer. In the next episode i end up taking the grow light logic out for an IC chip with Rotties grow light automation (not sure about the full name, but "rottie" is correct). I had no idea that one light would do it, i always have plants on the edge with a lower light efficiency so i just tried to make sure there was a light above every one. There is a short video coming out later today that will showcase some logic that i experimented with to learn more about it. I have a discord channel made i just have some formatting i want to do tonight after i get off work, then we can chat about a bunch of this (whenever you want) ( i can also show you my "solo" world and we can experiment there)

A massive problem you will have later, possibly soon. None of your atmospherics is insulated. The mars armo will cool down the gasses inside over time. Two of the gasses CO2 and Pol will condense once their pressures stat getting close to 5MPa ish. CO2 will start to condense at -9C 6MPa, Pol at any mars temp. If you use the O2 to breath it will need to stay above 0C or your lungs will freeze. Since Pol is useless, unless being used as Freon on Vulcan, get rid of it! an easy “free” way is have your active vent only turn on when the air is warm (above 0C). When the pressure of the pipe come gets to 5MPa ish the Pol will condense and you can “filter out the liq via condensation valves, you will need at least 3. Then with liq pipe side find a way to dump it. The easy way is force a liquid pipe to break. It will convert the pipe into a “passive liq vent” lastly, you don’t need those back pressure regulators. An active vent (bigger ones too) have an external safety, default set to 51Mpa. If the output pressure reaches that it will stop. As well via logic , you can write a new setting to what ya want.
I plan to put up walls around it here shortly, but i will read this comment through a few times to make sure i absorb all this info. I was pretty sure that pollutant is the prefered gas for coolant, maybe i have that mixed up with nitrogen.
@ pollutant is the preferred gas as a coolant for two reasons. It has no other purpose and it has an EXTREME temp working range. From 152 to -99C with the third best thermal xfer ability (water is the best, but you can’t go below 0, and harder work with with pressure wise). If you watch another TYer, LargelyUmeployed is doing a brutal Vulcan series, on Ep7 i he showed a world save that I sent him explaining how evap cooling works. No jk, evaporation cooling is how refrigerators, freezers ACs work irl.
According to stationpedia, nitrogen is the best coolant. I believe it has the lowest freezing point.
@@NoHypocrisy42 Yes, N2 does have the lowest freezing point. at -233 C, and it does have a good "working range" too, about 150 deg. (-83 to -233). But you cant use it as a coolant at any temp above -83, if you intend recycle/reuse it. As for "best coolant" that depends on what your cooling, to what temperature and what map you are on. if you're cooling a hab on Mars, the best coolant is Mars itself! Just have Mars atmo run thru your base in pipes with radiators and a dig valve logic controlled open/closed based off temp. (supper effective on Europa!) If you're cooling Vol from a gas to liquid. then you would need Pol. If on Mars, you can use Mars atmo to get from X temp down to -43 (max) then use Pol step down to below -78. Then use N2 if you want to go below -99. If on Eurpoa, just place some med radiators on the Vol gas pipe and condensation valves! If your on Vulcan, pull in nighttime vulcan air (127C) then use phase change to filter out the Pol. that will give you 130-135ish C 75/25 Vol/CO2 gas. you can filter out the CO2 via filtrations or cool that down to lower than -8 to phase change filter out the CO2, via closed loop cooling systems (you will need about 2-3 closed loop stages) then use more Pol to cool Vol down to liq temps. to know how many stages you need, ea gas has a max delta (difference) temperature between gas and liquid. the equation is latent heat / Specific Heat. For Pol thats 2000J/mol / 20.4J/K =80 J/K (80 deg). in practice, its more like 50-60 degrees. So you need 1 stage/closed loop system per 50-60 deg of cooling if using Pol. for reference N2 is 500/20.6 = 24, water 8000/72= 111, N2O 4000/37.2=107.5.
why do you have 2 active Air vents in your airlock? That is part that confused me. I don't even own the game, but from other videos I have seen - you should have only one. Too bad on the explosion... Been there- done that - Don't feel as a setback - think as a Mishap- or Player Error - Lucky you was doing AutoSave - I usually think every 10 min -
2 separate active vents, one to pump the dirty mars air out, and one to pump the clean air back in to minimize loss. Once we get our atmospherics up in the next episode we will just be pushing air into the "waste" network that goes to get filtered.
Advanced airlock has 2 active vents. To keep the 2 atmospheres separate. Set pressures to 0 for faster operation.
My guess of what happened, you over pressured your O2 tank. If you have auto save on you can verify this by loading an old save. Welding near a tank wouldn’t make it explode
Nice eyes, yea i loaded an autosave right before it and i left the active vent on, and blew the pipe right above the O2 tank, mustve lit that up with the torch, lol. We will be continuing right before it. I tried to salvage it, but it was a complete death cycle, even the generator blew.
