Kayaking on the River Thames

Forget kayaking on a river in the wild . This fella has a go right in London. Just before the old bill has a word to him.
That's the exact same TV we had. Oh, My how I remember it so well & it was in the early 70's, i remember the Controls of the Volume the Brightness up & down😂 & the Channel Turning Knob & had the wooden Legs, i remember it like it was yesterday. Our 1st Black & White PYE TV, had no Remote Control back then, us kids being the Remote Control 😂 what memories. We bought our PYE TV at a Factory were they where made, was on Carrington Rd, MARRICKVILLE it was down the Rd from us, a walking distance, i remember going to pick up the TV with our Valiant car, we couldn't wait to bring it in the house, it was so exciting, it felt like waking up early on a Xmas Day, opening our presents, that's the feeling it felt like, it was so Wonderful & happy times & great memories. Loved that TV. Loved all our TV'S we had. Wish i had them all 😢 & kept them, just to remember the memories to what we had, that we had, gathered around to watch our favourite shows & the best that played on Tv, its all Rubbish now, it was a big thing back in the days, sit with my dear loving parents Oh, how i miss not having them around 😢 The TV'S we had was a Black & White PYE, in the early 70's, had 2 Colour PHILIPS TV'S mid 80's '84 or '85 the Large one was in the Loungeroom on a cabinet in the corner & i had a small one for my bedroom i took from my parents bedroom Lol it was given to mum from my Uncle it was a Colour 9inch NATURAL 10 PORTABLE AC-DC loved that Tv & a RANK ARENA 90's medium size it was a Gift from my Dads Boss, had it in the kitchen on the Bench in the corner, were we spend most of our time in the kitchen while mum did her cooking, we sat to eat there, neighbours relatives drop in, watch tv there. Happy Memories😢
Sadly I no longer have that little PYE . It was showing 2and a half Men on STW9
What was the song of Sunrise Perth? Tell me
Did anyone record Channel 7?
Channel 7 is in this video. Have you properly watched this video at all? Take a look at that monster TV. 🤣
The man on Channel 7 was about to say “Prius”.
7 could have had a short tribute to their station history like they did over east
A bit rude with the analog shut down.... the programs hadn't finished
The SBS-29 and channel 9 Perth is later
CH2 ABW (ABC1 Now ABC TV) CH7 TVW (Seven Network) CH10 NEW (Network Ten Now Network 10) CH28 SBS (SBS1 Now SBS TV)
Don't Have A 1 More Channel CH9 STW (Nine Network)
Your analogue TV is very clear no snow :)
Where is ch 9
They went off-air overnight, hence why there’s no 5th TV set up. Dunno why they did so though.
Blahblah/speaks
Hey mate hpw do you do this, what kinda chord do you need?
It depends on what you want to broadcast. If you want to watch normal digital signals then you can get a set-top box and feed the composite output into an analogue modulator (a highly stripped down TV transmitter). You can use several modulators and set top boxes and set them on different channels so you can do what is shown in the video, have the digital box set to 7, 9 10 etc. Keep in mind that you have to set the modulators such that they have a gap of one or more channels because the consumer grade equipment is a bit sloppy and will give you co-channel interference. You can substitute the set top box with any other source with a compostie output, CCTV setup, PC, console, DVD player or VCR.
ChchccchhCHhH... Poor Analogue TV, served 50 years now back to the pavilion. Uffff Goodbye poor Analogue TV. How early you discarded
TVW - first one on and last one off. Probably did that deliberately. Andrew Embley was the last thing ever seen on WA analogue TV. Wew.
poor analog
Your Time is Exact
Why SBS broadcasts French TV News? :)
Paul BESSON Because SBS' purpose to provide multilingual and multicultural radio and television services that inform, educate and entertain all Australians and, in doing so, reflect Australia's multicultural society.
It also broadcasts the Eurovision Song Contest since 1983. They participated twice: This and last year.
doesn't SBS mean Seoul broadcast system?
Que droga, até a Austrália desligou o sinal analógico antes do Brasil. Que país atrasado.
Excellent set up there, just like mine, only yours is neater.
Like the Vintage TV setup there!! I use a VHF modulator to wirelessly transmit a DTV signal around the house so I can still watch TV using rabbit ears ;)
Where can you buy those? And are there ones for those watching such channels on the UHF band, and will it be supported on old analogue TV sets? I receive the Melbourne channels from a regional site on the UHF band. Many thanks.
TVW just had to be last to shut down didn't they? Good on them. First on in WA and last off.
Now its country WA's turn to switch off analogue. WIN digital has since been joined by GWN7 and TEN West alongside ABC and SBS digital
Channel Nine went early. I did have 5 tv sets for all .
Nice. I recorded ABC.
I think as long as you keep near to the bank, you would be allowed to kayak on the tidal Thames.
Looks like I can't do this anymore . No analogue signals in London
Nice classic set, I have an even older PYE TV made around 1969, I use it to watch all my B&W shows on particularly the classic Crawfords cop shows like Division 4, Homicide, Matlock Police etc.
Oh, Wow thats really cool. Luv to do that. Oh, the memories of those shows they were the best. I miss my childhood yrs. 😢
That's right, this guy got the idea from a violet crumble commercial which also aired back in '88 and the guy in the ad was doing bird calls, i dont know why and i dont know how the commercial went but i just remember him saying "the kookaburra" and doing the sound it makes, and this guy here tried to impersonate it and it didnt go very well for him lol
In regional Western Australia says residents will receive SBS (SBS ONE and SBS TWO), ABC (ABC1, ABC2, ABC3 and ABC News 24), GWN (Seven, 7TWO and 7mate), WIN (Nine, GO!, GEM, TEN and ONE HD) and TEN West (Ten and One HD)
They Contiuned to use the Perth, We Give You Ten slogan, from launch in 1988, until 1989, when Network Ten, became 10 TV Australia, on The 23rd of July, that year.
@kuttsywood Sadly, didn't happen.
@videbus The 1984 coverage was shared between Nine and Seven
This begs the question - who was the Olympic station in Perth in 1984? Just curious!
There is only 1 Commercial DTV transmitter in country WA . The main population centres outside of Perth like ,Bunbury Kalgoorlie Geraldton only have ABC and SBS digital. This is from the Central Agricultural area transmission of WIN.
That may not be such a bad thing ;)
Yeah It was cheesey then and even more cheesey now. We put up with it for a few months until NEW started to show network IDs Very Ken Done aswell.
Ten News started off at 6pm but they decided to go for 5:30 around a year later.
thank you for sharing this piece of Perth TV history!! Just curious though, in that program they mention the news at 6.00 but didn't NEW10 have their news initially at 5.30 to give them an edge over Channels 7 and 9 at 6.00?
6 stars! No one does localism like this anymore sadly.
Off Air from WIN's Mawson transmitter
Unfortunately no. But at least there is that bit of it there . The next time I'm in range of Mawson I'll record more of WIN News
you dont have the story from Karratha do you in regards to the fenacle festival??
