A quick tip for you today! 💜 I had fun re-visiting odd-count peyote stitch recently when I was updating my Mr Crab Scissor Charm. Sometimes it’s a really handy stitch, for example if you need certain designs to sit centrally in a scene you might need odd count! But the turn at the end of the alternate rows can be confusing. Fun fact for you, I actually have a big fear of real cacti 🌵 ever since dropping one on my foot as a kid (which resulted in a very sore and swollen foot!) which is why I absolutely LOVE cute not-real cacti paraphernalia - all the cuteness without the risk of injury! The majority of my work day while she’s at school is actually spent at my computer! When your non-beading friends jump at the chance to have a see what you actually do and come round for dinner and beading, what’s not to love!💜 So happy to have been able to share my craft with these lovely, supportive ladies. I met these gals in my previous life in corporate. They’ve always really supported me and we love to meet each month for dinner. We’ve been trying out different things on our monthly get togethers, such as pottery painting. It was my turn to host, so I was thrilled when I suggested a spot of beading… and they all jumped at the chance! It was weirdly a bit scary to be in teacher mode with this gang, and I was nervous before, but actually once we started it was just fab. I thoroughly enjoyed escaping the house for the day to join @beadsocietygb for their annual workshop, following their AGM. It was a real honour to be invited to teach my Lovely Lockets class, and we all spent the day at @andovermuseum_ beading away happily in one of their classrooms. My newest pattern release is now live on my website and Etsy stores! Technically this is a not a NEW design as this pattern is a retired workshop project. 😬 But it’s the first time it’s been available as a pattern! It’s a great introduction to beaded bezels and is suitable for beginner - intermediate Beaders. It was fab to be invited to Busy Beaders group in Bursledon, near Southampton this week to teach. This is a lovely little bead group who I visited earlier in the year and it was great to be back. A sneaky tip for making the most of your beaded own wraps! Not only can you change the cartridge on Pilot G2 pens (these babies are refillable) but I’ve also twigged that this means you can switcharoo your wraps too! So if you get bored, or you decide you want to change the way round of your wrap or your own breaks, then you can really easily remove the wrap! Obvious - yes but as I didn’t twig this immediately I figured it might be helpful to you! 😆😁😁 #beading #beadedpen #penwrap #peyotestitch #delicabeads #tigerprint #beadweaving
