This whole gen vs gen thing is so immature! NO ONE is better than the other. By the way, MANY millennials had ALLOT of what GenX had. Some are tough, some aren’t. Some are stupid, some aren’t. Some are weak ass parents, some aren’t. GenX, Millennials, and GenZ let the social media mind virus get to them. You’re all a bunch of teenagers! Thank god my parents are boomers! I run a Maker's Space, a bunch of shops members can use, wood shop, metal fabrication, auto shop, welding, etc. Everyone who also works there is at least 10 years younger than I am(54). They all know, and have seen, that I can and will "eat their lunch money". They say I'm some sort of cryptid. They watched me get hit by the forklift and walk it off. But, they also know that I'm loyal, dependable and resourceful. They know if there is a problem, I will make it go away. If I can't fix it then it needs to be replaced. If they need help, I will be the first one to step forward. I'm doing my best to teach them to be better. They respect that. Most importantly, they make me a better person.

WRT the haircut - I grew my hair long and my father told me I was a filthy degenerate. Had I changed? No - only the length of my hair changed. That's what makes the difference with Gen-X as well - we see through superficial crap to the real people underneath. Then we hate them all.

I think the biggest problem here is a lack of compassion. If millennials have all this youthful passion to do right by the world, and you have all this experience, why don't you...teach them? Teach them through kindness and love. You absolutely won't get through to someone when you lead an argument with "i could kick your ass" or "you're entire philosophy is wrong". These principles are ancient and not generation locked. Millennials have tried it on you and it didn't work because they are assholes. But you guys are supposed to be older. Wiser. The bigger person. Be kind and compassionate. One day, your strength will fail. OMG! I was raised by hippies. I grew up listening to Pink Floyd, The Stones, Zepplin, Hendrix, CCR, ELVIS (for crying out loud) and then the 80’s gave us Madonna who, at the very first MTV Awards, wore a wedding dress and rolled around on the floor of the stage, doing some provocative things and OMG, The NT Times, Washington Post, Time magazine and even Rolling Stone magazine published articles saying that it was a career ending move and she was FINISHED. I was lucky. I was a showgirl in my late teens and early 20’s. I had my own apartment on the beach. I had various “sponsors” (Much older, SUPER wealthy men who were alcoholics. (That was important! This was pre-viagra and a 65 year old drunk man isn’t gonna be able to get junior to perk up no matter what. So, all I had to do was be arm candy and that would pay my ret, my bills, car payments, etc. It was gig I worked ten years on. Then I went to college and faked my way into a law office, convincing them I knew everything about criminal law. It worked and I ended up a lawyer myself a mere three years later. I am s glad I didn’t grow up with a phone in my hand. Or anyone’s hands! I mean, I must have gotten on a bar and danced with an encore of a tit flash about 5,387. But, I’m SAFE! I have not seen anyone talk about our road rage issues. But, as Gen X we would pull off the road and literally fist fight. No weapons like millennial, or guns like Gen Z. No, we went toe to toe beat the anger out of each other. This might happen 6 to 10 times a week.

Gen X sucked as a military generation. Gen X does not give a shit about anything. The millennials fought the war on terror. Gen Xers would have found an excuse to say forget the military. They were also the most free and grew up in a good economy. Millennials do not care about rising the corporate ladder while Xers to this day are typically wannabe tuff but never proved it in battle.
