      @@never-too-late Thanks for the reply. I used to mountaineer up until I injured my back 2 years ago :( So I can only walk for 1-2 hours now and also if I was to slip I would be in big trouble. So I can't do another mountain yet. I am waiting for "further" help from the health service but I am not confident in them as they have barely helped me at all so far. I am on a very long waiting list for "pain management" (instead of surgery) because apparently I have to do that first. I think they want me to give up and live like this forever. But I am hoping I can save up to get private health care instead and get it fixed properly one day. So your videos give me something to look forward to and stay hopeful :) Thank you

    I have really enjoyed watching your videos! I also have a question regarding the issues that I saw you having with your crampons. What is it about the crampon that is causing the issue, and have you resolved it yet? I have a similar boot and want to get crampons eventually without having problems.

    • @never-too-late
      @never-too-late 10 дней назад

      I'm glad you've enjoyed watching my videos! Regarding the crampon issue, the problem was with the metal bar that connects the front and back parts of the crampon. If you have larger feet, you might end up using the last adjustment hole, which can cause the two parts of the crampon to separate. To solve this, I bought a longer bar, which allows me to use the next adjustment hole instead, ensuring the crampon stays secure. There are still additional holes, so it's not at the last one anymore. Feel free to ask if you have more questions! Don't forget to share my videos with your friends and subscribe to my channel.

      Glad to hear you're considering it! Here are a few tips: make sure to take a 60m rope with you. If you're not feeling confident at any point, it's okay to give up and return when you're ready. Also, if you start from the glacier cave parking, be prepared and in good shape, as it's a challenging route.

  • @Smallfrye
    @Smallfrye 16 дней назад

    For anyone considering this route, it's worth knowing that especially in recent years, the top sections of the West Flank are extremely chossy and full of loose rock that can be very very dangerous. Even if the climbing is not of a high grade, loose terrain can make it pretty scary especially on the descent. I soloed the route in the summer 2024 season and had a few "oh shit" moments near the summit. Prepare accordingly and have the proper gear/experience.

    • @never-too-late
      @never-too-late 16 дней назад

      Thanks for the heads-up! I would also advise taking a 60m rope to help secure the descent. It's always better to be prepared, especially in areas with loose rock and chossy conditions. Stay safe out there!

    ty for the video bro. Fo you need a permit or to pay a pass to climb Eiger. Im thinking of doing a winter north face climb in the future

    • @never-too-late
      @never-too-late 3 месяца назад

      Hey! Thanks for the comment. No, you don't need a permit or have to pay for a pass to climb the Eiger. It's free to climb. However, attempting the north face in winter is an enormous challenge. Are you planning to do it solo? Make sure you're well-prepared, as the conditions can be extremely tough and dangerous. Good luck with your planning!

      @@never-too-late hey Bob thanks for your reply, yes I had an amazing time here, yesterday I had an amazing alpinist experience, I climbed the Innere fisistock and had to go up 1600 meters and again all the way down, there was still lots of snow and the last 200 to 300 meters I had to navigate through fog climbing a pretty steep snow wall with my ice pickle. I had no prior experience doing this kind of adventure alone with a T5 level, there were no marked paths and some risky exposure moments. I doubted a few times to continue, but at one point I said to myself let’s do it you live only once😅

    I attempted this same hike, and route, in July 2016. I got to the top of the rocky knoll ( where the ladder is ) and decided to descend back to Engelberg The problem was that it became incredibly hot, and I had used much more energy than I had planned because of a massive snowfield blocking my path to the Stand Cable car station. The glare of the sun coming off the peak was blinding, even with my googles on. But I enjoyed it anyway Thank you for the enjoyable video

      Thanks for sharing your experience! Sounds like you had quite an adventure. That snowfield must have been a real challenge, especially with the intense sun glare. Glad to hear you enjoyed it despite the difficulties. The Titlis climb can definitely surprise you with its conditions. Thanks for watching and appreciating the video!

      @@never-too-late thanks! Did I see correctly that you didn't have an ascender divice? Couldn't you have used a prusik for the part with the rope? The knots on the end were a nice idea, but falling 5m still hurts? This part really got me scared...
