the issue with mini-led for me is the use of the VA panel. I cannot stand the smearing effect with motion.
I just bought this monitor 12/15/2024 for my self for a Christmas present. Merry Christmas to me! 🎅 wish it was the Oled Version. I really hope my Nvidia RTX 3080TI FE can handle this or I will need to upgrade it to the 4090, this is strictly for pc Gaming/ entertainment. It was on sale for $1,499 at Best Buy
Nice review. Thanks. May I ask why your webcam is not in the middle? :)
Thank you for mentioning eye strain with OLED panels. I had no idea this would be the case and bought 2x Alienware AW3225QF 4K monitors. I thought I would be in heaven but the text was so annoying to read, especially when doing graphic design, and I would keep going back to my IPS for things like coding and design. This display is such a great win
I new the link or the name of you stand please
Thanks for the video, it was very informative. I'm thinking about purchasing this monitor. Could you please provide the make and model of the monitor arm? 12/15/2024 0753
why don't you use KVM software like synergy to switch between mac and windows flawlessly ? so you won't have to always click your mouse to toggle bluetooth to connect.
Good question! The simple answer is that the PC I'm using belongs to my employer, and company policies prohibits this. But it would have made the experience more seamless for sure. I would probably have used Logitech Flow for my MX Master 3 and MX Keys Mini since it provides a similar experience.
No signal has to be the most annoying thing
Yes, it certainly is annoying.
@@plejground I'm curious if they fixed the signal problem with later models. I love the monitor just super annoying to deal with no signal which i dont' see many people talking about either. If it happens to you must have happened to many unreported users as well.
I experience persistent eye strain after using this monitor with MacBook Pro for about an hour, especially with non-HiDPI resolutions (anything above 3840x1080). The maximum scaled HiDPI resolution for the MacBook Pro M4 Max is limited to 3840x1080. Additionally, the curved screen seems to distort my eyesight, making a normal flat monitor feel as though the curve was reversed, even the next day. Strangely, I haven’t seen any independent reviews mention this issue. Given these problems, I’d advise against buying this model for Mac users.
I bought an returned (fully working with guarantee) 49" G9 Oled. Thay called from shop that "we don't have the monitor. Would to take this 57" instead?". Good deal for 760€, but already horrified by the size of it. Let's see what next week brings...
Sounds like quite a nice deal! And yeah, the size takes a while to get used to for sure.
Hi, thanks for the video. Have you used a mac mini with a samsung? I'm looking for an ultrawide monitor for a mac mini.
@@Krol_Artur Not a Mac Mini specifically, but I use it daily with my M2 Pro MacBook Pro. As long as you have a M2 Pro/Max chip or one from the M3/M4 series, you’ll have a very similar experience (which is great in my opinion).
@ Thanks, what cables are best to use?
@ To get the full resolution at 120 Hz, you’ll need an HDMI 2.1 cable.
Excuse me, can I ask you a question? I have an Apple Watch Series 10 Aluminum Jet Black, but I have never seen Series 10 Grey Slate Titanium in real life, I only saw it on RUclips and some pictures on the internet. Is the color of Aluminum Jet Black similar with Grey Slate Titanium? Because I saw some people put 2 side by side to compare and they are quite similar in color.
@@jinvh They are indeed similar, but the jet black aluminum is pitch-black meanwhile the slate titanium is brighter, has grey tones and hence is more of a dark grey color.
Just bought this on sale for $1500 just hope Samsung quality holds up. I'm using it for work and surfing. Thank you, you earned a sub. Happy Holidays!
What MacBook are you going to use it with? I meant what chip?
I got it for the same price on Friday this thing is a beast!!
@@TXTundra-ex8bw That sounds like great deal! Happy holidays and thanks for watching!
What are you using to power the monitor? (GPU/Laptop/MAC)
The two input devices I have connected are a MacBook Pro M2 Pro (my private computer) and a Lenovo T14 Gen 3 (my work laptop).
What monitor arm are you using? The Ergotron HX with HD Pivot doesn't support it, and the VHD wasn't out when you published the video. Thanks
I bought the monitor arm from maxgaming.com and it's absolutely perfect for this monitor. It's cheap compared to the Ergotron and has zero issues with tilting. I think it’s their own proprietary brand. You can check it out here: www.maxgaming.com/en/latest-monitors-accessories/super-heavy-duty-monitor-stand-27kg-17-57-1-monitor I’m not sure if it can be purchased outside of the EU from them though. At least I wasn't able to find this particular arm in their webshop when switching from EU to International.
nonsense......ITS a GAMING MONITOR! useless video
How do you control 2 input source with the PIP with one mouse?
@@dlam5342 I use the Logitech MX Master 3S and the MX Keys Mini. They both support up to three Bluetooth devices which I can switch between with just the click of a button. However, you could also use the built in KVM switch that comes with the monitor, if you have corded devices.
whats the chair and neck pillow name ?
@@zzzaaalll The chair is the Fractal Design Refine and it has the neck/head pillow as standard.
For your wakeup issues it seems to be coming from power glitches from what I read online. I’ve just got one, and I don’t have this issue. I suspect it’s because I use the ivanky fusion dock max which is powered.
I’m trying to decide between the two but I want to be able to wear a gold chain sometimes and maybe a gold Milanese loop with one or the other when I do that, which one would you pick for that?
@@pauladams3840 Personally, I would probably have gone for the natural titanium. It looks more like a piece of silver jewelry and less like a tech gadget and hence, in my opinion, would suit better together with other precious metals. But then again, that’s just my opinion :)
Jesus I thought this channel had like 300k subs
@@drewmorg. Wow, thanks a lot man! I really appreciate your kind words 🙏
Where's your desk table from?
@@Rhukzy It’s from IKEA. The top is the KARLBY kitchen table top and the frame is IDÅSEN.
Can you plug in a FireTV stick into the HDMI port?
yes of course. any hdmi device
So it needs usb-c and a minimalist design, got it :P
Haha, yep, that pretty much sums it up. And that Samsung addresses the input signal detection issues on this model, as well as on their other models facing the same problem.
2000 usd monitor and 20 usd speakers. Priorities are straight lol. Nice video dude! I’m probably getting 2. gen of this one, as long as it’s OLED and 240Hz!
is that coming?
agree great monitor BUT the SLEEP issue (i,e, inpout singal detection issues) is a deal killer and SAMSUNG must fix this
@@warperone Yes, I sure hope they will sort them out. Seems to affect quite a few of their models at this point in time unfortunately.
What microphone are you using. It looks cool
@@adamgreen9718 It’s the Elgato Wave 3 :)
Slate titanium is the best option 🔥
It sure looks great!
How did you get the 3 input split screen to work? I am not seeing that as an option currently. Is there a firmware update or is it a setting I am missing?
That's correct. This feature was shipped in a later firmware update, so you need to update it to the latest version (1005.3). Then you should be good to go :)
@@plejground Thank you!
Same issue with my G7 monitor. returning it and getting the same as you.
Which stand are you using? I’m using the Ergotron with the heavy duty mount, but it can’t take the weight so I had to jam two long screws in the heavy duty pivot mount to stop the monitor dropping. Your arm looks like it sets the monitor further back too.

I’m about to get a MBP with the M4 Pro chip. It would be purely for productivity purposes, so refresh rate matters very little to me. However, I’m very unsure as to how the 130ppi would scale, with MacOS preferring either 110 or 220 ppi.
If you sit close to the monitor as I am (at about 60 cm viewing distance) I think you'll be fine running at the native resolution. Anything beyond that and text and UI elements will probably appear too small. The next available resolution in MacOS will nerf the monitor down to 3840x1080, so that's not really an option unfortunately. Would have been great to see some more flexibility in terms of resolution and scaling options in MacOS.
Great video. Follow up question for you, what is the max refresh rate of the middle 16:9 "monitor" when using the PBP 3 split mode?
Thank you! Glad you liked it. I can run the 16:9 monitor/screen at 4K 120 hz over HDMI 2.1. Not sure if you might be able to push it beyond that over DisplayPort 2.1, but 120 hz is definitely possible while running the other two 8:9 monitors/screens at 60 hz.
How do you like the quality of your pebble speakers?
@@pokerdealerohio They are decent but really nothing special. About what you would expect for a pair of speakers of this size and price. But they are better than most built in monitor speakers for sure.
Oh boy that matte finish is fucking disgusting. Kinda turns this amazing monitor into a cataract simulator.
@@cablesalad3168 Not sure how a glossy finish on a monitor of this size and with such an aggressive curve at 1000R would handle reflections. But given that it would not cause any weird issues with reflections, I too would actually have preferred a glossy finish.
Perfect size
140 PPI, no thanks, that’s awful. Great size though.
How is 140 PPI awful!? Haha This monitor is basically two 4K 27" side by side. Which monitor do you have? 8K at 24 inches? Lmao.
@@sto_ytPPI is important for detailed work, whether it’s text, photography or video. While I understand 140 PPI is ok for those who are accustomed to lower resolutions, it is not for those who are accustomed to 218+ PPI. It’s night and day. I understand though if you’ve never experienced it then you wouldn’t know the difference or only care about playing games, where high PPI is less relevant. Each to their own.
when using an ULTRA WIDE monotir (I have a g9 and an ark) to share a PORTION of the screen, you want to use a free app called Region To Share. It's in the widows app store. someone is missing out on promoting this app.. there are sooooo many youtube videos of people complaining about screen sharing with ultra wides. THIS IS THE ANSWER
Yeah read reviews about it online. So many complaints of breaking
57" will never work for productivity no matter how hard you try. You'll have to move your head wayyyyy too much.
Yeah, neck discomfort is definitely a thing going this big.
The biggest con is that you can't sit crosslegged/single leg tucked in it due to the hard edges of the seat!
I bought 3 for a simrig. I’ve ever returned anything faster, they’re dogshit.
Lol?
It is such a refined apple watch. 😍
Hi, well-presented video. How is it holding so far? Is it showing scratches already? ☺️👍🏼
Hi here! Thanks for your kind words :) The natural titanium version actually had a minor scratch in the PVD coating out of the box and will most likely catch micro scratches fairly easy over time unfortunately. That's just the unfortunate reality of PVD coatings (which are far from scratch proof). If you're sensitive to scratches, I would probably go with the slate titanium version since the darker color will not reflect light as much and hence micro scratches will not be as visible. At least that's what I would do :)
@ thank you for this insight.
Try different cables to fix the no input signal issues.
I have but unfortunately that's been of no help.
Unless you're seated directly in the centre of the screen, it's not great.
Well that is kinda the point of curved screens... That they curve around you 😅
Between this and the colomy atlas what do you recommend?
Hello there! I’ve never tried that chair, so I can’t give you my opinion on it unfortunately.
Heh. I e got those speakers too. Cute aren’t they.
What is its height in centimetres?)
It’s around 39,2 cm
These overly large screens caused me neck probs too which is why I don’t have one. I used a 40” briefly a few years back and that was terrible as it was not just left right, but up/down. Current run a Dell u4025qw and super happy. Has a great usbc hub and not too large, not too small. I also have my aw3024 oled for gaming.
