TCM Intros
Добавлен 15 окт 2014
I upload any intros (only intros) I can find shown on the TCM channel. No profit is gained, just my love and admiration of the TCM network. I don't like the idea of these wonderful intros fading into oblivion.

What happened to Tiffany?😊
I really wish they'd done the Gene Kelly film. And stuck to the original story. I can never really get around the way they turn Joey into a nice if slightly irresponsible guy, instead of the a self-centered louse with charm, and maybe the tiniest core of a conscience he mainly opts not to use. Vera is depicted as a jealous aging bitch in this film--in the stage play, she not only doesn't threaten to take the club away from Joey over his attachment to Novak's character (who she's come to like), she makes a peace offering of it to him. She has to dump Joey (who she's been living with on the side) because she was blackmailed--unsuccessfully, but she has to figure it will happen again, and she can't let the affair become public knowledge, or her rich husband will divorce her. He just has to say thank you very much, and he's on Easy Street--and what does he do? Being Joey, he insults her, because his ego is wounded that she's giving him the heave-ho. The truth is, he liked the siren better than the ingenue. (Well, she was played by Vivienne Segal in the first two stage versions, and Rita Hayworth was something, but Segal was more). So her olive branch flung in her face, she writes him off entirely, sings a new version of Bewitched, making it clear the spell he cast on her once is broken forever, and he can forget about having the club. Linda approaches him later, not angry about the way he treated her, wanting to be friends--and he's already checking out another girl. That's the real Joey Evans. That's the way Pal Joey should be. But Hollywood didn't have the guts to do it right. And given that Rita Hayworth's Vera was depicted as having her time beaten by Novak, is a classic older woman scorned for a fresher face--not at all the person Vera was onstage--I'd say she had every right to top billing. She gives a fine performance. But of course she could not sing the songs herself. And as for Sinatra, yes, he was one of the alltime great singers, but The Lady Is a Tramp is not from Pal Joey, and was written for a freespirited teenaged girl. That's the song Judy Garland should have gotten to sing in Babes in Arms. Along with My Funny Valentine. Hollywood had no balls at all where Rodgers & Hart were concerned.
I agree, this is my favorite film. I'd heard a lot about it but had never seen it until about 10 Years ago. I'm still in awe.
"Bela took her under his wing". His BAT wing!
Loved them❤
great thanks.
Great film.
I never would've guessed Osborne was gay.
Wonderful film
This was a masterpiece
Liz called it a piece of garbage. I agree. She is amazing in it though
Terrific movie --- *Robert Ryan* .
This is a very charming well know gem in the 1923-1995 pre pixar Disney libary of films in the early years of the pre pixar era of the Disney studio before 1995 Disney & Pixar classic Toy Story came along in the early years of the downfall era.
Where can I watch it!!
This is a very unusual movie, I understand why Hepburn and Connery agreed to star, love story between adults. Also nice that 2 such fine actors as Shaw & Connery could get together every decade or so & beat the 💩 out of each other.
I loved, AH & nat😮😢 and king coles nature boy,China gate !
I'm writing that this is the year 2024 and this year is The Long Long Trailer's 70th anniversary.
I would like to watch Waterloo bridge 1:19 1:20
I want to watch Waterloo bridge 0:47
this film needs to be coupled with "Ladies Who Do". A B+W low budget English from the same time starring Robert Morley and Peggy Mount. Small theaters just gave up trying to compete with the Gigantic Hollywood "Spectaculars" of the same period so they stated to import. Both of these are free on RUclips if you search. These films were followed with great films like, "The Lady Killers" "The Purple Gang" and of course, "Carry on Nurse".
I was hoping this would be the movie. Sorry if name icon comes up 2x. Computer glitch.
Marlo should have stuck with this movie. He was silly pretending to be Napoleon.
I love it when I look up a movie I've never heard of and tcm pops up and hear Robert introduce a film he was so knowledgeable
Reading a script
Miss Robert Osborne...bless you Robert from Arizona 🦁❤
Seeing Terence Stamp's brilliant portrayal of Billy BUdd, I can see how this could have happened. He was just too beautiful to live. You know evil will find him. The background explains so much of the officer's fears.
Entertaining movie with great cast.
Absolutely lovely film. Brenda equals brilliant work from my 2 favourite English actors. Not sure modern audiences could stand such long scenes in a filmed play but David Lean has incredible images to add in. Lean made world class smaller movies before all the epics and I love Ryan’s Daughter too.
This was Cher's pick on TCM with Osbourne.
On the morning of October 1, 1973, my first day at Paramount Studios, I walked onto that stage where they had filmed that special the night before! Gene's and Frank's DNA was probably still in the air! The stage was dressed like a nightclub....one that had been emptied and closed for the night, without clean-up! What a memory...and it will be in My Book about my years in The Biz! :)
We miss you Robert, you are a legend.
R.I.P. Robert Osborne. So very missed.
I miss him so much.
Miss Bob he really loved is movies . 2:03
Only speculation Warner's suggested Al Jolson make a movie with Ruby Keeler to help himself, and no need to warn that Al Blacks up in some scenes. That is only trying to stop people watching the movie!
Fernando
I feel like I know Robert Osborne ha. 🎥🎬
A Chandler narrative on the East Coast? Blasphemy! A travesty! Poopiedust! George Sanders rendition of “Jolly good fellow betrays his British origins. The last line is different over there. At least he’s got class and style…. “If you covered him with garbage, George Sanders would still have style…” Ray Davies, The Kinks, 1970
Ben Mankiewicz does such a good job with those monologues tbh
Much of what is said in this intro is very true. Will Rogers was wildly popular. Imagine three JFKs dying at once, and that should give you some idea of what a big deal it was when he died. Even blue collar workers broke down at their machines and started crying when they heard the news of his death. Amazing that now people drive down Will Rogers Hwy, Will Rogers Blvd., and even Will Rogers Street. Their are schools and buildings named after him all over the U S, there is a beach named after him in California. And yet, people in general aren't even aware of who he is anymore. Amazing what time can do.
(me, when discovering the full movie on RUclips) "YA! YA! YA!" Now how do I get down off this mountain?
My favorite western. Very relatable.
Excellent movie
This is one of my top 3 favorite films. I know it backwards and forwards, yet love it every time I see it. Tony Perkins and Stephen Sondheim were both puzzle buffs, which is why the story is so delightfully complex with lots of red herrings. I wish more people knew about this movie. Also the scenery in France is gorgeous and Bette Midler's "Friends" is the theme song. 4 stars!!
If memory serves, A Hard Day's Night was comprised of all original compositions. Something unheard of for a pop act at that time.
“A word of warning…” Seriously?!
🤣🤣🤣
Ridiculous 🙄 if you’re staying tuned in and watching Jolson, you know about blackface 😂
l need film that produced in 1914...
I like Ben & TCM a lot, but not one word about the source material, a classic suspense novel entitled Black Alibi by legendary crime/suspense novelist Cornell Woolrich? Pathetic.
Please show a full video of the original film of Shane. No neeed for a moderator since we have started and know this film 30 years ago. Thanks
