Thanks :D Honestly, filming on the day wasn’t too bad, as most of the day’s weather was actually pretty good. When it did thunderstorm though, it was a bit of a hassle, but at least I had my umbrella handy, and it also didn’t last too long, which was nice.

The one on the Frankston line is Wickham Rd/ Worthing St, Highett, and the one on the Sandringham line is Dendy St/New St.

Yep, now that this crossing is gone, only Webster St, Dandenong; and Macaulay Rd, North Melbourne have Westinghouse Hybrid bells.

True, it sucks too because Webster St is the only crossing with a first generation Hybrid on the Metro network

True, I can’t think of any other crossings in Victoria that have first gen Hybrids, but there could be ones that I’m not aware of.

Thanks, for some reason the 2nd gen Hybrid seems to be dying, which is funny as the 1st gen Hybrid is still going strong and is also older then the other one

Definitely, especially with 2 different gate mechanisms; I don’t think there are many other crossings with different gate mechs, if there are any at all

@@pengo34789also a gs3 has a bit of a deeper tone instead of a high tone like a gs2. my guess that the bell on the eastern side is actually a some type of gs2(if you recheck the footage of madden grove, you'll know what i mean)cus like i take screen recordings of lx bells and put them into capcut and it kinda does like a combonation tyoe thing

Actually, you could be right; it may be a normal GS2, I was just going off info that I had read, but didn’t really think about it. Also, I just assumed that it was a GS3 as it looked brand new, so I wasn’t expecting a new old stock GS2 to be installed.

@@pengo34789yeah, a gs3 bell is a bit faster than a gs2 with lower pitch edit: i really think this crossing should be on the removal list. residents are signing a petition for its removal an me personally, i agree. the traffic from the eastern side is really congested

Thanks, it does seem that the lights aren’t that bright, although if it’s in the evening then they’re easier to see. X’Trapolis trains have been running on the Werribee/Williamstown lines since late 2016, as they’re also through run with the Frankston line.

I think the reason backlights were installed was for pedestrians to see, as before that, there wouldn’t have been any visual indication from the south side that the crossing would’ve been activated. This in conjunction with the crossing not having pedestrian gates meant that it could’ve been a bit dangerous, so that’s why they installed them. Another thing to note is that the backlights are specifically aimed for pedestrians approaching the crossing, with the left one aimed at the footpath, and the right one aimed at the zig zag fences thingy

True, just a guess but it may be because of Burnley sidings? Have no idea if that’s correct thought, but I do agree that pedestrian gates should be installed as this crossing sees decent train traffic (Trains to/from Glen Waverley, and trains heading in and out of Burnley sidings too)

Yep, soon there will only be 1 crossing located on a roundabout on the Metro network once this one is removed (Dendy St), although there are a few of them located on the regional network I think. Only one I can think of is Fyans Rd, South Geelong; but there are some on the freight line to Mildura too

Thanks, those tracks were used as access for sidings, making Arden St a 4 track crossing; this video shows it well: ruclips.net/video/b1-owjhaZrA/видео.html Interestingly, there was even an extra track that went behind Macaulay Station (making it a 3 track crossing), but all of the sidings up to Arden St were taken out when Citylink came through and cut off all the rail.

Yep, it used to have 2 GS2s, then one died and got replaced by a GS3. Now the other GS2 has died, so eventually this will probably become a crossing with 2 GS3s once the dead bell is replaced.

Thanks :D With the hybrid bells, those got replaced when the section between Sydenham and Sunbury was electrified, as MTM upgraded all of the crossings along that section. All of the crossings had hybrids (I think?) prior to electrification, and other stuff was upgraded, eg the wishbone gates.
