Miniature Diaries: Kill Team Blooded
Another one of these guys, a cautionary tale, but something to learn from when buying the most expensive kind of miniatures: Warhammer. Though their world and lore is expansive and blows my mind away, in times of weakness, I sought these hungry gods for a means to cope.

Painting Tiny People
Просмотров 29019 часов назад
Miniature Diaries: Medieval Challenge These are new types of videos I'm making. They won't be anything consistent, but as an extension of my art life, I was curious in making a web-diary of my miniature painting, though the content is more of personal reflection than a procedure to follow. This is a journal not a tutorial after all. These are experimental things, and I will do them from time to...
Artist Appreciation - Ava's Demon
Просмотров 17014 дней назад
I wanted to talk about a webcomic that has been one of the inspirations for my own art journey and a bit of the artist behind it, Michelle Czajkowski. When I was first making the story of my own comic, this was one of the comics that helped ignite some drive to pursue what I want to pursue. And today, though not exactly what I want, I was able to make my own stories come true. She is very epic:...

This youtuber was someone I remember fondly during my watercolour/traditional art phase some time ago just before the great plague. And since I kind of began doing these artist appreciations, I thought of him and wanted to make a personal video about it. He was the watercolour man and that's how I remember him. Artist Appreciation - Draw With Jazza

I've been doing some looking back and wanted to focus for now on the people who helped inspire me or taught me in the field of art. The contents of this and following videos will just be personal, I don't feel like doing some...

Admitting To Being Paranoid About AI

For the past couple of years, with the advent of sophisticated enough AI technology, I always thought I could just shrug it off and muscle through, but now I have come to accept that I need to learn more about it, how to protect myself better from it and do something in the future. Many sides talk about AI "not being a threat" but I just don't buy it anymore, however, grim as my realizations ma...

I've come to a point of realization that I need to move on with my life. I love art, I like sharing it, and have others enjoy their time with it. Hello, it's been a while. It's rather obnoxious of me to have left this channel in a while with an April fools' video. What Your Art Might Tell About Yourself

In my writing of a personal reflection, I noticed something about my art that speaks to who I am under certain circumstances. When I have experienced enough and look back to observe, only then I realize that my creative outputs gauge a variety of aspects of myself when faced with life, like a litmus paper turning red or blue, art was like an indicator to me of how I felt or acted. I'm bad about this too. When I'm down in the dumps I spend, spend, spend. Got laid off during Covid, proceeded to buy one of every tool at Harbor Freight! Also scored 4 pawn shop "rescue" guitars during that time 😂 Wish I saved it, but I have a fully stocked garage now and a guitar for all types of sound/genres. I like your video, glad it was suggested! Best wishes bro! Of course spending too much can get people in all kinds of troubles, but I feel like investing in hobbies is also investing in your mental well being. For me at least, I find worthwhile paybacks in my mental sanity if I have a hobby to get lost in.

Dude, I'm honored! Thank you for your kind words, and for following my work for so long! It was wild to be reminded of my early work, I am always so focused on current or recent projects and it's easy to look back on my old work and cringe, but the way you presented these historical artifacts from a place of such nostalgia really touched me. Thanks for such kind sincere works, and for immortalizing me as a SPACE MARINE!! I'm so utterly honored to be a part of your creative journey! Thanks friend :) (your art is STUNNING!) ps. You're not just a number. You and everyone in my community have a very real effect on me and my journey. You took the time to make this, I'm sitting in my office working on the two video releases at 11pm on a friday night after 12 years of being a youtuber, and stopped to watch your video and am gifted with a surge of grattitude and motivation. This was really lovely to both watch and listen to! It can be hard as a viewer, remembering that a real person with real aspirations, goals, struggles, and an entire life is behind the screen we're so used to seeing. I definitely can't (and shouldn't) speak on everything, but something I sincerely use to judge someone's character on, is the people they bring to them. I have been involved in Jazza's community for several years now, and I have met my best friends through the channels. People I talk, work, and play with every single day. Jazza has always done an excellent job of fostering a very loving and accepting community which I, even after years, I still get excited to go in and see what they've been talking about that day! (which is actually how I found this video! An amazing member of the community posted it!) Its kind of crazy to think how people you may never meet, or even interact with in your lifetime can have such an impact on you as person. They're a piece of glass that makes up your image as person, no matter how brief their time in our lives have been. Its a scary, beautiful thing to think about, and it was very nice hearing about your experiences with that : )

I found Jazza at the peak of my artistic developmental journey in my younger years (back when I was 9/10 years old) and after watching some of his tutorials, I found myself encapsulated by all the other videos on his channel. I remember coming home from school and checking if he'd uploaded. And if he had, I'd watch it. Now that I'm 17, and my style and art skills have much improved since then, like you said, I can see little fragments of his style within my own. Even in my sketches, certain aspects of my process are influenced by his art and those tutorials I watched when I was younger. So I really do owe so much of my creative drive to Jazza and his youtube videos.

1 - i feel like this will give a greater appreciation of physical media, right? ai will never understand watercolor like sargent did. it knows results, nothing about process. 2 - ai is only as creative as what already exists, so make something new. innovate, make weird art, and be sure to copyright it so nobody can use it to train an ai 3 - focus on what you enjoy most. if all the art jobs disappear, at least you’re having fun just some of the thoughts ive had thinking about the same stuff, i hope it helps

Thank you for making this video, and sharing your thoughts in this format. I really enjoyed listening to your words as I was drawing, and thinking about meaningful art with you, and my search for meaning through art. Recently I've been having a bit of trouble enjoying the process and have been trying to do anything I can to fall back in love with it. I am blessed to have embarked on meaningful projects and to have those readily available to invest my time into, but I also respect the importance of sketching with no pressure or end goal. I was drawing a picture for my girlfriend (of us and my cat) as I listened to your video, and I can't really describe what happened any other way than by saying that I got very deeply into the flow state and enjoyed that drawing session in a way in which I haven't in a long time. Thank you again for your video, and for sharing your personal experience and thoughts - Isaac

I think doing art is part of being human. And copying as part of practice is something that helps increase skills. Art matters because it's something we do. That said, art from imagination and art from reality are two different skills. They help each other - there is no shame in using references. I made art as a kid I called "Illality", illusion and reality. I think your art will keep improving! Make it for you! Thank you for sharing. This is a rambling comment, for your rambling video. Thank you again.

Thanks for some insight. I just recently got back into doing art after a big chunk of ‘life gets in the way’ time out. Your description pretty much fits my past and current journey. Many moons ago I produced a graphic novel. I enjoyed how it let me express myself as artist and storyteller. It also made me create routinely and made me paint backgrounds and props. It taught me to be patient and more methodical. I don’t do webcomics anymore but the experience is woven into the fabric of my creative self. So here I go, on my own adventurous quest to slay the dragons of discouragement and criticism.

Great video man. I think that’s the central point in the art journey. First do it well, then do it in you style. I studied animation and our drawing teacher told us about a student that whenever he tried to correct an exercise the student always said “that’s my style”, “then why are you here learning?”. Anyway, great lesson.

You summarized my life. I was exactly like that when I was younger. Today, I do have a couple of friends, but I could have had a whole army of them if I had tried to talk, smile, and laugh with people in my teenage years. Instead, I was extremely quiet and menacing to people. If you are in school today, make it worth it. Make friends, study hard, so that in the future you can look back at yourself and not feel guilty because you chose the wrong path.

    • @paint.brains
      @paint.brains 4 месяца назад

Not sure what your age is (I'm still in my 30's), but making friends isn't something that only happens in your teenage years. I know that my gender helps when interacting with strangers, but I also know men who are just as capable of actually forming new freindships quickly. What works for me may not work for everyone, but I attend a lot of art and music events (preferably <50 people for actually meeting people). If the genres are consistent, then you start noticing the same faces and eventually you'll form a small crew of friends or be adopted into one. Most of the art events are free and some of the music ones are too, so don't let your age, gender, and money hold you back!
