    You're a woodworker and yet your accent wood lines don't line up. Had I commisioned you for this, you would be remaking it. Should have also mitered the corners and not left raw end grain. Step up your game man.

    Been watching dozens of videos before I tackle my kit. This is the same kit I have. Been back and forth on grain filler. What's your thoughts?

    • @afrazier2332
      @afrazier2332 18 дней назад

      That’s awesome! A grain filler is definitely not a bad idea! It would probably save a little time on the wet sanding… for me I’ve usually just used the black dye as a base and sanded it down. The black will stay down in the lower grain and help accent the wood grain.

      Thank you so much!! Yeah so I did the trim pieces in the corners to cover the pocket holes I used to connect the panels… I was planning on using dowels to fill in the holes but it ended up not working out very good so that was my next best option… not ideal but it worked out ok 😁👍🏼

    What type of wood are your butcher blocks? I have Hevea butcher blocks and tested a 1 coat sample of the walnut Rubio. I'm undecided on it. Maybe an extra coat and the sheen plus like you did would do the trick.

    • @afrazier2332
      @afrazier2332 Месяц назад

      So this birch wood… and honestly I was a little unimpressed by the final outcome (as far as the sheen) but man it’s been so durable… nothing has damaged those counter tops so far… also I just recently ordered the N3 Nano Ceramic finish made by black tail studios and I think that is going to really bring the sheen up… I’ll let you know how that comes out

    Hey bro I’m here to comment and ask a question, I’m a fellow cabinet maker it’s my job past 15years. I want to say that’s some super sweet work on the guitar display cab, u nailed it for sure. My question is I was wondering if u knew if I needed some kind of humidifier or dehumidifier to control the environment in a 10 guitar cabinet that I am putting together it’s actually a Thomasville furniture china cabinet from the 70s solid walnut really cool work on it with four glass doors. I have some cool arches at the top and they also have, the metal screen behind the glass which I had not seen that done before I noticed you just put a vent in your guitar cabinet as I’m just now starting my research yours was the first thing that came up. Any ideas would be awesome. Thank you.

    • @afrazier2332

      That’s awesome man!! Thanks for checking out the video! Feel free to send over some pictures to my email if you would like (afrazier2332@gmail.com) For sure you need some air flow (why I put the vent in the cabinet) as far as a humidifier that would depend on the size, the amount of guitars, and most importantly where the cabinet would be stored… hit me up on the email and we can chat 👍🏼

      @afrazier2332 appreciate the vid. Compared to Stew Mac dye alot cheaper way to go...the only thing about the leather dye is that its alcohol bssed and will dry faster and probably more chace for error. I'm thinking of tan for most of the body and blsck rit for the edges as a sunburst. Anyway take care.
