How can you filter the values in a smart button? I'm guessing it would be something similar to this. I want to have 2 smart buttons that open the same model of Defined Locations, but in one of them I only want results that are "Jobsite" Location Type.

I guess I'm slow, but this took me some time to "translate" from the example shown to my own use-case, but this is working beautifully now!! Thank you sooooo much! This is a game-changer! In case it helps anyone else, you may have a situation like mine where the "ID=1" part of the domain criteria doesn't apply. So, I was confused for a while trying to see how that fit. LOL Because in the Sales Order form, the fields of "Customer" and "Invoice Address" are both M2O referring back to the SAME model/table "Contacts" (res.partner), making ("id", "=", partner_id) in the view XML make sense. But, my "Sign Schedule" form has 3 Many2One fields relating 3 separate models/tables (Project, Room Number, Sign Type) to it, where the common property to match is Project (x_studio_project). In each M2O field (room & sign type) where I wanted to only show values that matched the selected "Project" in my Sign Schedule form, in the field's Domain property I selected a "Project = XYZ Project" to filter by, then in the View XML I replaced that id # found in the code with "x_studio_project". Now, if I have a Sign Schedule for the "Bishop" Project, only the Locations and Sign Types related to the Bishop project will show available to select. So, the second part of the criteria in Andrew's example was all I needed! Where he set up the SO's "Invoice Address" domain to filter for records where "Related Company = Abigail Peterson" provided the XML code with Abigail Peterson's partner_id (45). In XML he replaced the "45" with "partner_id". That's it! P.S. - in Studio customization XML of custom views, the code "looks" different than it does in a base model view such as sales order form he was working in. But, ignore all the "&quot" stuff you see. Just find the ID number and replace it with the field name to match to. Also note, you will need to apply these filters in each view, i.e. form, tree (list), etc. Soooo happy to have learned this! Is a form field Context in Studio what I am looking for...or something else? In my scenario I have a Defined Location model with Room Number (x_name) and two many to one fields, Project (x_studio_project) and Parent Location (x_studio_parent_location). Parent Location is a recursive field pointing back to the same table. So, when the "Bishop" project is selected in record 15 - Rm# 101 (x_name), the filtered values in Parent Location will only show those records in the Defined Location table where the Project = Bishop, so if x_name records 1 (Bldg# C) and 7 (Rm# 102) show "Bishop" in Project, these will be the only options to show in dropdown. Excluding it's own record of 15, of course. Said more plainly, show me values in Parent Location where Project = Parent Location.Project BONUS: What if there could be two criteria...adding if x_studio_location_type (many to one) of the possible records in Parent Location = "Room" or "Door"?? TIA!!

Great video. This is also how SAP uses Account Assignment where costs are allocated to either a project or cost or profit center.

Nice video, From 17.1 onwards there is actually an extra setting on the partner to send the statement on a certain interval. However your video inspires me to try out something else: automatically attach timesheets on the invoice e-mail if there are related time entries.

Quick Hint: When using Libre Office Draw to export a PDF form -- make sure that both Tagged PDF and Create PDF form are checked when exporting one of these documents as PDF. The "Create PDF form" option is not checked by default the first time you export a PDF from Draw.

Currently I’m working on inspection for my company which if our engineer select from the worksheet even one field with Fail Unsafe To Use I really want to show in report that we will send to our customer that the machine is fail and unsafe to use in red background do you have an idea on how to accomplish such a task ? (Please note that we have few different type of worksheets for each machine different template and we have Odoo online studio) As for now the report is only showing the worksheet field the engineer reports which also is not pleasant to look like any tips on the worksheet and reports would be so appreciated.

Hi Andrew, Many thanks for Sharing such a great learning videos. I really learnt and sorted alot of queries from your channel. Kindly make a video to identify a margin analysis report from Odoo 17 via FIFO method. Means the system should show the relevant actual cost and margin generated via FIFO againest the sales made. At moment the system only shows the margin via Average costing (which appears on the item card page : Total Purchase Cost or Total Manufacturing cost / Qty Purchased or Manufactured. I need to ascertain the margin analysis via FIFO method. If the system can't show the same then Can we have a line wise FIFO cost or margin column or field by exporting the sales data (Accounting > Customer Invoices > Select rows > Action > Export InvoiceLines data). So that we could analyse the same from Sales Register. I hope you understand my query. It would be great if you suggest or make a video on it.
