Добавлен 17 июл 2019

(Ep3) Baseball Movies
In this episode, I am joined by a special guest for the first time: my father! He and I watch and discuss eight filmed takes on baseball, the sport that translates better to film than any other (or at least, that's what we aim to find out!). My father, like Danny Peary himself, spent several years working in and surrounded by the world of baseball, and he shares his stories about Yogi Berra, baseball rules and behind-the-scenes stories you won't want to miss! This is an episode that will be sure to be remembered as a home run.

I Watched the Criterion Channel for 24 Hours Straight

Criterion, a company which focuses on celebrating classic and important movies, just released a new feature of their streaming service: Criterion 24/7. A separate part of the Criterion Channel, Criterion 24/7 is a round-the-clock channel that shows nothing but Criterion movies. I began to think, could somebody ACTUALLY watch Criterion 24/7 for 24 hours straight? Well, I tried. And it wasn’t eas...

What Can We Learn From the Second Oscars?

The second Academy Awards should perhaps instead be called the final stand against silent films. The Jazz Singer had been released not even two years earlier, but already the film industry was barreling towards a world without Chaplin and Pickford. Because of that, it means this second ceremony is full of misfires and movies that make you question what Hollywood could possibly be thinking... bu...

According to Ford, he wasn't interested in making art at all. (I don't fully believe him...but that's what he said.)
Please continue this content.
I remember parts of the movie and i remember it as very funny, in fact I got here searching for the full movie
Nichols should have won for Virginia Woolf. This was his consolation
Never mind the short films watch the diahann Carroll Bob hope debacle on camera
They spent too much on Camelot and don't think it ever recouped. Shame they could not get Burton and Julie Andrews
Dr King killed 1968 Poitier the number one box office draw 1968.
The best song category noms were appalling compared to what was not nominated in that category. No To Sir With Love Mrs Robinson etc.
With the holocaust, the medium fails the message. No movie can match the horror of the reality of the holocaust and the holocaust doesn't need Jerry Lewis leading children into the ovens to prove that the holocaust was a bad thing.
Is it out? Where is it?
we need more movie jails tbh. NGL tho I tuned out when you went into the birth of the director... didn't need all the filler
AUDREY A MUSA SAGRADA DIVINA, OCULTISTA ETERNA E IMORTAL
What a fantastic video! While I've already watched a few silent films already, this will be extremely helpful on my journey from now on. Delving into silent films has been such a refreshing departure from what I usually watch. Thank you for inspiring me and keep on inspiring others with your love for cinema!
Better to have a narrator who worked with Ford and not a kid with a voice that sounds like a cartoon.
The best peter pan movie is the 2003, its so nostalgic and well produced.
Hope you’re doing well, my friend. Hope to see something new from you soon 🫶
@@maplestreetmovies thank you! Unfortunately I am without a laptop right now and unable to edit anything. I appreciate you reaching out, though. I was just saying yesterday that I should edit a video on my phone instead of waiting for a new laptop, and so thank you for giving me that extra push! :)

O tempo de ouro de Hollywood
A Hollywood de hoje não consegui fazer filmes melhores que nesse tempo
How come there hasn't been an Adam Sandler remake?
Excellent documentaries thank you. A bit of a spoiler for folks who haven’t seen it, about the money and the doll. Really enjoyed it however
This will not release in 2024 or ever, no need to lie
HAHAHAHAHA ‘this is 4 hours long’ when a Brighter Summer Day starts. Subscribed instantly just for that.
My local cinema isn't in Kentucky... My local cinema is 1.4 miles North of me in Bradford the world's first UNESCO City of Film, inside the National Science and Media Museum. It's the Pictureville Cinema, which is the only place in the world where you can watch Cinerama films. On either side of the Pictureville Cinema are 2 more cinemas which are: The 100 seater Cubby Broccoli Cinema,. Europe's first IMAX. The National Science and Media Museum also contains the world's first camera, the world's first film, the world's first colour film, the world's first negative, and the world's first TV, among other world firsts and items of film and TV nostalgia. There's also 2 more cinemas just half a mile North in The Light and Cineworld. Plus The Odeon is just 3 miles from my house too.
I'm 1.5 to 2 miles North of the mini neighbourhood of Little Germany, and Bradford City Hall, which are constantly used for filming. Other locations in between those locations, and other locations the same distance South are also occasionally used for filming. With even more regularly used filming locations West (still in my city) and East (in the city next door) too, within 11 miles. Plus filming is also done a lot in and around the town centres of the towns and cities within 6.8 to 13.5 miles South of me. This year Emmerdale, 28 Years Later Part II: The Bone Temple, Giant, The Choral, Gandhi, Virdee, and Peaky Blinders among others have been filmed. This year Emmerdale, Upgraded, and The Six Triple Eight among others have been released. Since January 2022, at least 30 mainstream feature films or TV series have filmed in my city, mainly within 1.5 to 2 miles from my house. Plus countless more productions, mainly in the documentary/reality TV genre on subjects like culture, travel, food, antiques, crime etc, and countless music videos mainly in the Bassline genre which largely get 100,000 views minimum.
Joe Rogan and Tarantino brought me here.

Answer your phone! 😂 But for real, great video! Deserves more love
OMG!! I just realized Wait Until Dark is a movie I saw on TV when I was 6! For years and years I wondered what movie it could have been and now--51 years later--I stumble onto it!! Just last weekend I was doing searches on the premise (terms like "woman, home invaders"), and literally days later I bump into it! That short movie Paddle to the Sea was shown in my first-grade class (1974-75). I had no idea it had been nominated for an Oscar. Doctor Doolittle was a fairly recent movie when I was growing up, and I have nice childhood memories of it. In later years it got a Golden Turkey Award from Michael Medved on the basis that it lost a lot of money for the studio. Personally, I don't evaluate movies on how whether or not they're profitable for corporations and don't understand why so many average theater-goers do. My only criticisms about Doctor Doolittle are the gross ethnic stereotypes of island natives and the fact that the movie is so darn long. Since I was born in 1967 I've enjoyed seeing what the Oscar ceremony was like for that year. Thanks for doing this!
Men singing poorly isn't funny.
Born in 2001 . If you were born in 80's I'm sure hook would rank higher. Watching that at 6 blew my mind
For me 2003 it's the best
I'm surprised there aren't more foreign adapations of Peter Pan. There are a shocking number of foreign adaptions of the Mark Twain stories. Three Russian (including a Cold War version), Romanian, Polish, French, and Canadian that I've found. You'd think Peter Pan is more universal than the Americana classics, but something about Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn has motivated foreign filmmakers.
SMH
Poitier had TO SIR WITH LOVE that also helped to split his votes. Steiger basically won for the Academy’s blunder for not giving him the win for THE PAWNBROKER handing it instead to Lee Marvin in CAT BALLOU. But the real losers were Robert Blake and Scott Wilson in IN COLD BLOOD, and John Mills and Marjorie Rhodes in THE FAMILY WAY who were ignored.
You didn’t mention Beah Richards also had a small but key role in IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT
I love this movie
im looking for this Cheap Low quality Anime Peter Pan movie I had in vhs, it looked like a 5yrold draw it and got animated >XD (no, fever dream movies are not a thing, me and my brother together do remember about it) can't find it D:>
Sorry, we have to risk the lives of your cast and crew in a hostile foreign nation because the Coca Cola company wants a tax break 🤷♂️
Pan 2015 was my childhood 😊
i want to see pincchio places
More inspiration than based on facts.
Good video about Ford.
Wendy (2020) is my 2nd favourite film ever. I'm so glad that you put it so high on the list. And your review is so wonderful.
Hi great video. I am obsessed with Peter Pan I even made my own film 🎥 version of the story on my RUclips channel. Just a warning ⚠️ it’s very low budget, low tech and amateurish but my friends and I had a fun time making it. I’d love to hear your thoughts on it and wonder if you would like to check it out and let us know what you think of it.
I liked the movie. I didn't love it. But overall it was a good film.
I have a soft spot for Ishtar
Oh, bullshit. Lewis didn't release it because he knew it was a cringey mess he couldn't fix. I still don't "believe" it will be restored and released. I've heard these rumors for decades. Now it's November 2024. Where the eff is this always promised movie?
It was screened in August.
