In this case the guy that designed the RN.50 stated that the slap round was overloaded to the point that it had to have been around 5x the normal powder charge that should be in the round. Whoever sold these rounds intentionally loaded it to the point where it was over 150,000 lbs of pressure. During a retest to try and produce the same failure they had to create around 250,000 psi to cause the failure. Scott did nothing wrong, and I’m glad he’s still with us.
