Another year came to an end. A new one has just began and our batteries are charged to the maximum again with new expectations and plans . 2024 was a relatively nice year concerning photography, managed to capture some nice birds but also missed some other really good ones. As a wise friend once told me, their time will come sooner or later. Enjoy...

A rare visitor to Cyprus. A beautiful bird with rufous tail, buff underparts with pale ginger bars. I call it a blond bird. My third encounter with this magnificent bird was the best of all. A real model, an extremely tame bird. Enjoy..my unique moments with this little guy.

A winter visitor. An elegant wheatear which is easier to approach during their first days of arrival, i.e. first days of November. A bird where strong sexual dimorphism appears: the male is black and white with a bright white hood and back, while the female is grey-brown with grey upperparts and an increasing amount of dark feathering on its' throat.

The humble black restart. For me one of the two signs that winter has arrived. The other is the robin. A beautiful little bird, especially the male, like the one in this video, that doesn't have the admiration it deserves. I am lucky to have one for second year into my backyard and every single day our encounter takes place.

My first ever encounter with the smallest bird in Europe. 8.5 to 9,5 cm only. So tiny that when it came down to the puddle I thought it was just another leaf. You can see its' size by comparing it to the leaves around. Most probably got its' name by the yellow (vivid orange sometimes) stripe to the crown.

An elegant bird, sometimes so tame and sometimes so inaccessible. Its' beautiful colors make the Eurasian Jay a pleasure to watch bird. Actually and despite its' beauty it causes a lot of damage to other bird nests and young fledging.

An extremely common bird but with extraordinary charm. Being hunted fanatically in Cyprus for its' meat, hope this one and all the rest make it to their journey back home to breed.

A very pleasant encounter with a Grey Plover in breeding plumage. We don't usually get them with this plumage, since they are mostly winter visitors. I really feel very lucky that I had this incredible opportunity to video and photograph this magnificent bird and would like to share it with you.
