SB Racing
Добавлен 27 апр 2013
SB Racing is Struggle Bunny Racing. The name came about as Colin, Lance and I were out riding and joking around chirping each other as we struggled through a rough section of trail. Eventually this led to the struggle bunny emotional support doll which is given out on rides to the rider who struggles the most because of bike problems, tough terrain or having an off day. It is all in fun and meant to remind us all not to take our riding, racing and ourselves too seriously. We all struggle and therein is the fun and the reward.
The last ride of 2024.
It's been a hell of a year with some racing in the NBDRA hare scrambles, helping build a new track, putting in the hours preparing FMSQ's race in Central Hainesville at Crabbe Mountain, and helping to host our own rides. Here's to a great 2025 ride season!

Luke picked up a new to him and nearly new 2021 YZ 250x (not f as I mistakenly say in the video) with no more than 15 hours on it so we head out to get a little ride in and do some trail work as we prepare for winter riding.
VW Mk4, Toyota Echo, Mk7 GTI and ..? Our new car backstory.

A house rule is we own a car for 10 years minimum. This in my easily picked apart logic is a way to get the most out of the crap investment that a car is and balances needs and wants over 10 years before we go dump more cash on a new car. Might have missed that mark with this latest one.

Our annual invite to all to come ride the trails was again a big hit and drew from the three clans. A great day hitting about 40km of trail, good food and great company!!
Lost Mojo

Taking some first timers out on our trails and a crash leading to lost mojo. It happens to all of us and sometimes you just have to not compound the problem by trying to fight through. Sometimes it's better to call it, reset yourself and then get back at it.

Keswick Ridge Hare Scramble 2024 - NBDRA Round 3
Просмотров 6784 месяца назад
A brand new track cut this year and added to the series. Lessons to be learned on passing and the fun of a short course format. Heavy rain leading up to the race day made half the track near impassable. The junior and women's classes were the test subjects that found this out and after some chaos of multiple stuck bikes and some injuries those sections of the course were closed for the afternoo...

That day was so nice for riding, wish I got out to the northside but I'm not a stud haha. What a weird winter so far.
Shaping up to be a good year to get some off season rides in. On this ride Andy didn't have studs, it was doable and a good day. We're going out this weekend but with the freeze up there will definitely be some ice. I'm selling a studded front and 24mx has good deals on some really good rear studded tires.
Nothing like a nice ride out in the snow :) Happy new year!
Hey Happy New Year to you too Mr. Drummer! Hope you had a good holiday!
@TeamStruggleBunny Thanks!
I need better riding skills...
You and me both lol. More seat time, balance drills and short burst of riding just over your skill until it become the norm. (I need more of this last part!)
Best kinda riding! Can't wait to get grooming those trails
We need another freeze up! Hope we get a good crew out this winter.
I might be wrong but i was under the impression the guy in front of you was in your class. If not then yes he should pull over but if he is in your class its called racing. Got to learn to pass. Just my thoughts.
The rules vary by association I imagine. The rule for NBDRA is to let the faster rider by. You don't need to stop but you assist with the pass to prevent reckless passes that might put someone into the rhubarb. This is regardless of whether you're in the same class or not. But yes I definitely need to learn to pass effectively.
Did you ever get your bogging issue figured out with your 300? Was it the fuel pump?
I did get it sorted. It was the fuel filter in the tank. Happened twice and has happened to at least two others I know for certain. Working theory was the release agent or debris left in the tank from the manufacturing process was gumming up the sock filter in the tank. I carry a spare now but haven't had any issues. I was told rinsing the tank out with some soap and water then gas before reinstalling was the fix. But after the original filter and the replacement failed I must have gotten all the crap out. Pretty frustrating but simple to solve in the end. Now at 140hrs and no further issues.
PS I now have a spare brand new fuel pump because I panic bought before figuring out the issue lol.
Thanks for the video. Happy Christmas! Looks flipping chilly lol
Love their Campfire red!
Nice trails brap
They are some pretty epic trails, a favourite are to ride for sure.
Wow I need to ride those! Take me! Take me!
Goshen? Nice video!
Hey thank you! Yes Goshen, do know the area? Google Goshen Snowmobile Club and that'll give you the start point but best to go with someone who knows where the trails are as they are not obvious or marked.
@TeamStruggleBunny My brother brought me there this past September. Real fun day. My first real enduro ride. Now I am hooked for life!
@@reneouellette9934 It is a great place to test the waters of off road riding. We're lucky with the amount of areas we have to ride.
Agree XC for faster riding, XCW for more technical trails.
The really technical riding does favour the xcw but I'm riding the xc most of the time for most everything. It does get warm without a fan though when you're grinding through rocks and roots.
I wanna do this next year!! Sign me up. Ill get the struggle bunnie no doubt
How often are you replacing clutches, with type type of riding?
On the KTM, never. Not sure how many hours or seasons but short of some serious and deliberate abuse it's pretty hard to kill the clutch on most of these bike. I don't think I've ever replaced one, though other probably have.
"Push it like you ate too much cheese the night before" LOL... You have the best commentary.
Great vid! Oh, and the current government is about to get an enema! 😂😂😂
Bit of an update - the head and tune continue to run flawlessly but there was still a feel I was looking for and thought the ERM was going to be the fix. Before dropping the money on the ERM I bought the TSP power valve cover and ...WOW! That gave a much stronger feel off the bottom and took nothing from the top end.
Love the Lance Armstrong reference :)
And I thought it would be the Neutical dog balls that got people haha
Just stumbled across your channel. Watched another video before this one was laughing my ass off 😂. Same thing here laughing through most of the video. Just got a new subscriber! Keep her on 2 and stay safe.
Hey really appreciate the feedback and glad you had a good laugh!
Hahahahaha at the second location I said out loud to myself "this looks a lot like some Coldbrook trails" then seconds later you say the same thing in the video.
Was a wicked ride until it wasn’t 😂😅 Ruptured ACL, torn MCL, fractured Tibial Plateau 🙃
Oh damn😯! That's a lot of damage. No real good side other than it the end of the season... Not a lot of consolation there. Hope you heal quickly and fully Mike!
@ Thanks brother, I’ll be healed up in time for next years ride! Can’t wait haha
Great vid bud keep them coming!
Great vid bud keep them coming!
Banger vid as always buddy thx for the invite
awesome day! also that gnarly rocky stream down into the valley with the waterfall is called "Gene's Odyssey"😂
I knew it had a name, couldn't remember it lol.
I like the two perspectives, but I’m thinking more “picture in picture” like @sleepathon.
I win the Struggle Bunny award for the day! That fall really hurt! Was trying to tough it out, but glad I called it quits when I did, I took the bar to the thigh pretty hard and ended up limping around for a while. Thanks for the video and thanks for looking after me. Always a pleasure to ride with you.
Hopefully we'll get you back out for some more trail time before the snow.

Pretty cool to see all kinds of perspectives!
It'll take some time to figure out what works so the video tells the story without being discordant.
@TeamStruggleBunny For sure but it'll make for cool stories when you do! Is it the 360? I'm at work so watched half muted lol
@@chris.tine_b_ No just mounted the old GoPro on the rear fender. Thought about a 360, maybe next time.
@@TeamStruggleBunny Cool!!
Way to go Celine!
Complete trooper on some challenging terrain!
I’m from Fredericton! In the first of the video that looked like the Mira gravel pit across the valley! I’m new to riding enduro and would love to tag along sometime!
We're always happy to get people out for a ride. A good place to start is usually over on Claudie road. When are you typically available to ride?
Great channel! Good to see enduro back there! I grew up in Sussex area its good to see lots of enduro happening there!
Tons of good trails near Sussex for sure. Seems everyone has been working at having trails to play on and there are some real gems out there.
COLIN! WHYYYY😂
When’s the group ride planned for, I like the off hill climb
Looking at 28 Sept for the SB Open Invitational to the North Side Ride.
@@TeamStruggleBunny I’ll be there
A group from us down in saint john just did this a couple weeks ago i did not attempt crazy Ivan though still my first year riding a dirt bike
We were back there yesterday and I couldn't make it up Ivan. It's a fun challenge so long as you know when you're not going to make it and don't try to ghost ride the bike over the top. Easy spot to crush a pipe or crack a case if you flip the bike.
Drank the Kool Aid! 😆... Yeah, I could see why that hill was named conniption! I'd be having one if you dragged me through it 🙃
The reason the hill was named will be in the next video. Someone has a conniption. Its glorious hahahaha
Hey if you're local and want to ride Goshen we'll be headed back for a big group ride in the next couple weeks.
Love the videos. How is the 300XC running now with the new head and tune? Any more problems with fuel filter? I see you still have the TPI. What is your opinion the TPI vs TBI for mostly trail riding (i.e. not racing)? It seems like TPI might actually be preferable for some of the trails you run (when not racing)?
XC is running great. So far no more issues with filters but I carry one with me. Sitting at about 112 hours now. The head and tune are very good, smooth and good power. The original first tune in the bike was pretty good, but that one gave the dash code if you hit the started when it was running. The second tune was the best, very meaty down low and hard hitting, I liked that one. The third factory tune...was underwhelming. Really took away power down low. Didn't like it at all so that got me onto the TSP set up.
TPI vs TBI or xc-w vs xc...that's a tough one. Both my bikes have WP 6500 forks. The xcw is a '19 MY and I have the PV turned out to near flush and it runs really strong. Chassis and suspension are more compliant so over a long day of hitting trails it probably won't wear you out as much. Also it has a fan so that's a bonus for the bike. That said I put three hours on the trails yesterday and I took the xc. I need to take them out and do a solid back to back on a variety of terrain.
As always, a great video. I felt so bad when I realized we missed part of the trail and saw you coming from the Grouse section. At least I waited till everyone had gone by before I re-entered. Going back on our tracks should be a big no-no as you said, we don't know where we missed the trail and would want to end up riding in the opposite direction on the track. So I waited and reported me going off course to the race Marshall. The start caught me off guard as well. I was still powering the GoPro when I saw the flag go up! Looking forward to the next one!
Lol, the look on your face said it all. It happens and going back, possibly against the flow of oncoming bike is a bad idea, so forward makes sense until you regain the course. Honest mistake and easily done with the broken tape and a beaten in line that looks correct.
10:18 is what i find frustrating.. you've been "batteling" with a rider for a long time, every corner matters and you're doing your best to pass him. He gets to the time booth, they see his number coming in, he gets let go right away, now its your turn and technically they didnt raise the flag to let you go and your rider is getting away.. those timelaps events are cool for that aspect of racing
Hahaha, you're right I didn't get raise flag, didn't even pick up on that. I'd better come with a box of Timbits before the next race lol. Timing and scoring is tough and I really appreciate the volunteers that step up to record every bike. On a short course like this it must have been challenging for sure and the young guy was doing a great job.
@@TeamStruggleBunny no doubt

The water tower is definitely a challenge, great riding!
Nice riding!
Thank you sir. Some felt good, but for a lot of it I was not on my A game lol. That's how it goes lol
Awesome weekend! The track really came together🤘🏻
Sure did! Good memories there, cutting clearing, and seeing it all come together on race day and the party afterwards.
Oh boy..... Lol, so race day took place today aaand..... well the back section of the course (apocalypse) turned into a mud hole from hell. The afternoon race was delayed for quite some time as sweeps and volunteers worked to get bikes out, even using an ATV to winch them out. Most of the afternoon class seemed ready to get after it but wisely the race director rerouted and cut the track down. Initially I was a bit disappointed and had concerns that such a short course with pretty significant differences in speed would be problematic, it wasn't. The shorter laps made for exciting viewing and kept the fires lit for staying on the throttle.
Looks great
Was a great ride, too bad we ran out of time to show you more of the trails.
I was running out of energy so the timing worked out lol. I'll be there next year with my Cardo on to get in on the smack talk haha.
@@TeamStruggleBunny The smack talk makes it wayyy more interesting lol
You like my new bridge eh? It's a sneaky one!
Maybe hang a pool noodle off the tree on the left to easy people to the right? haha. Bridges were all solid for sure!
Always love the videos! I really thought I had you for a while. When you passed me, I tried to keep up but my conditioning is near non-existent so I just couldn't keep up to your speed! Well done!
I was annoyed with myself and trying to put a charge on.
I have a 2024 300 XCW and I am just about to pull the trigger on this TPS upgrade. I noticed some guys have said that all you need is the map. It makes the biggest difference. The medium compression head also helps, but it’s not as big of a deal as the map tune. I have no idea if that’s true, but I’ll probably pop for the whole thing. The W is good but a little bit on the anemic side when it comes to power.
