2nd time in my life I've ridden single track. My arms were destroyed. This ride put 4 hours on the clock after the first oil change on my new KTM 500. She's a beaut! Sorry about the wind noise, quick threw my action cam on, no mic setup. 00:00 - Intro 01:38 - Singletrack Riding

Great video. Glad to see you were able to repair your rear tire. My wife and I rode our KLR into the Canadian Arctic quite a ride and no flats. Enjoy your KLR they are great bikes. Mine is a 2010 and it still runs great.
💪🏾Now THAT'S the type of riding I be talking about! Can't wait til the weather breaks so I can get with other dualie riders! - KiLleR650 #imsopgcounty
Getting a flat sux but at least u got it on video!
LOL - i'm falling out of my chair at the sound of cows judging your tire changing skills. :) this is what adventures are all about. :) thanks for the good laugh.
Hope everything is OK! It's been a year and haven't seen any new posts.
the reason so some bad stuff happened to you is bc you prepared for it.
appreciate the video, thank you so much. We road bigger bikes on that route but the KLR would be a perfect bike
What kind of trailer are you using?
Its an Intech Explore
Good vid. Looking through the windscreen most of the time is my only gripe. Incredible riding and scenery. Just did this entire loop on a bone-stock 1988, yes, 1988 KLR 650 that I picked up for $1300. Ran Shinko 804 and 805 tires. Did the suspension suck? Yes. Did the seat suck? Yes. The footpegs suck? Yes. BUT, it was the perfect bike for this trip. Left my GS in the garage in CO. Can't wait to get the KLR out on the next adventure.
There wasn't no f****** long f******videos of p**** video
You should be happy not to ride this on a KTM. You tractor the bike pretty good, a KTM needs revs or she will stall
Are you still making videos?
Happiness is a torquey motor!
I appreciate hearing the engine and commentary vs music.
Oh my gosh. The allen wrench thing!! I was wondering how on earth you had a flat so soon.
I just did the Black Hills BDR-X on a bone stock 1988, yes, you read that right, 1988 KLR650. Before the trip my buddy and I installed a new clutch kit, rebuilt the carb, new air filter, new tires and tubes,, Shinko 804 and 805 Adventures and new brakes. Bike was flawless. Could it use better suspension? Yes. Did the stock suspension work? Yes. Did the seat suck? Yes. I bought the bike for the trip for $1300 and spent another $800. All in, $2100. It was a Swiss Army knife of a bike. Did everything compentently, nothing excellenlty except putting a smile on my face. BTW, left my BMW R1150GS in the garage for this trip. THAT was a smart move....
I hate cow shit so bad.
🤣🤣, like anyone loves it
You didn't find any 10mm sockets with that Allen Key did you?
I really enjoyed this video and wanted to acknowledge the great work you have done sharing this trip. I see that you have not posted a video in quite some time and just wanted to check in to see if you are OK?. I know from experience with my channel that life sometimes becomes busy and RUclips video/film making can also take some of the fun out of these trips. Please just let us know that you are doing well and enjoying your summer. Thanks, John
Was that it?
Watching this through windscreen is a PITA
What app are you using to find these trails?
@@rubbersole79 you can download the gpx files from the BDR website. Search South Dakota BDRx you should find it
Im getting a klr 650 here in next month and i would really like to try a cost to coast run for the iron but series. Lesrned a few thinfs watvhing this video. Thanks
Amazing what you can do on a 8" clearance 8" suspension travel motorcycle. No need for a better 10" clearance, 10" suspension travel motorcycle that is 80 pounds lighter. The rider makes the bike. I'd give it a shot on a DL1000XAL8.
Hahahah I'm surprised the KLR made it.. That thing is an antiquated turd. Little more than a grocery getter. And a crappy one at that..
How dare you call it antiquated turd! 😆
why fold your mirror in? let the trees do that for you. glad to see another 500 running the single track up there. maybe we'll bump into each one day
Wow, this looks like fun, I just bought a new 2023 KLR 650 adventure and am excited to see some countryside. Thank you for posting.
I bet you could put 1000 Alan keys on your skid plate and that wouldn’t happen again, good old Murphy’s law
WE NEED THE NEXT ONE!!
KLRs go everywhere on the planet, man. 😂
Sounds like a VW bug
Very inspiring Vlog
Your the man, couldn't believe those cows wasn't going to give up their space for you.
In a few weeks I am headed to Tuktoyaktuk on my KLR and I am dreading having to deal with a flat in the middle of nowhere. You have shown that it can be done with the right tools and a spare tube. If you can do it....... Oh, and sorry for the smoke, that wasn't very neighbourly.
That ride sounds like a blast! Don't let tire changing worry you, just be prepared with the right tools and all will be well. Enjoy!
Definitely she can go on BDR's,,, it's the bike that goes where NO OTHER bike has gone before 👍
hmmm. XR650. DR650. Actually, the DR650 would also be better getting there. Great (better than KLR) on highway.
I feel like the small wind screen blocks where my eye naturally want to look. Good video of a cool trip, though.
I agree and tinted at that I don't get having a tinted windshield visor yeah but windshield makes no sense
I ALSO HAVE AN INTECH... I GOT THE FLYER DISCOVERY.. ITS AWESOME FOR MOTO CAMPING WITH MY BIKES ..JUST WAITING FOR SOME SNOW 2 MELT OFF IN VERMONT THEN GONNA DO SOME ALONE TIME WITH MY BIKE.. MUCH NEEDED !!!!!!!! I AGREE MAKE THE TIME WHILE YOU CAN.
Ah! I wish I would've went with the Discover sick of smacking my head! 🤣
Dude, we’ve all been there. That Allen key thing is what I’m talking about.
Great video. I like your authenticity and creative editing. Ride safe 👌🏼
For me I keep rpm up higher
Awesome video thanks, the cows had me dying during the tire change lol. Camper looks like something I need as well! Cheers
Nice setup! Like your mini toy hauler. Need to look into getting one.
Fun video series so far. I do have some observations though. You way overloaded your bike and you also don't appear to have practiced riding with the bike fully loaded. Personally, I like to practice with about 20 pounds more than what my actual loadout will be which does two things. It makes sure I can handle my bike with everything on it and it also makes it so I'm ready if I should pick up a few souvenirs or end up needing to add extra food/water for a portion of the ride. You should work on your terrain reading and off road skills on the KLR as well so handling the terrain will become so easy that you can ride almost entirely by feel which will let you take in the scenery without those "oh shit" moments. Motocross and hard enduro training help a lot for adventure riding. My racing experience enabled me to take my KLR across the Rubicon Trail. Anyway, this looks like one hell of an adventure and I hope to put my DRZ or my KLR on that BDR one day!
Great video! Cows were awesome lol. How did you get those logs under that swing arm? Is it all elbow grease?
Your dash! I could stare at it for hours! Please tell me what setup you ot going. And your phone is mounted in the perfect location! Nice! What mount is it? Thank you brother.
I wonder what you’d get if you crossed a black Angus with a black Mule?
Damn skid plates!!! Sorry to say it was hilarious listening to the cows cheer you on while changing the tube. I'll be watching the rest in the series. But onto a real question. Listening to the sound of the exhaust, it sounded like you were stuck in the zone between 1st & 2nd, which was dictated by your speed. How do you feel about the gear height / spacing on the KLR. I've got street bikes and a Royal Enfield Himalayan as my ADV bike. With the exception of lack of power and lack of dealerships, I love the Himalayan but because of those two things am looking at the possibility of a KLR. I haven't even test ridden one but I'm constantly on the lookout for non-biased opinions.
Wheres the rest of the videos? A movie with no ending...lol
That trick with log as a jack is cool
Great video! Seems like a great adventure so far. Do you have a list of what was in your tire repair pack? Thanks!
