Thank you ….i needed someone to row along with me …it’s been almost thirty eight years …rowed a single after college but then life got in the way.. looking forward to joining you again in this virtual world …VL
Hi Vlad, great video here. I'm developping a Android App for a rowing machine. Can I contact you about the video, I would like to use a short snippet of it. I did not find a chance to DM you nor an email of you. Greetings from Switzerland, Michael
It’s been almost 11 years since I’ve last been in a boat. Going out sculling tomorrow morning. Very excited! Thanks for the video - it helped get be hyped.
Awesome! After watching a few coxwain POV videos, and this, I wonder how much more fun it is to watch rowing and make it bigger among non-rowers when we see the effort close up and not just from the far off side view. I love watching rowing, but I rowed myself, and I think people who never rowed must think watching rowing is as boring as watching golf or other silly things.
Super Nice video... BUT, Man, you lost it toward the end of the 2000 meters. In fact, you should have been PICKING UP THE PACE toward the end. Wonderful Video. Thank you very much for sharing this. I have shared your video with a few others. Great Job, Man. ... Next time, during the final 400 meters... You need to pick up the stroke, and row harder. Keep training, Man. Good Luck.
We use to row a fiberglass covered (because of leaks) flat bottom plywood row boat back and forth from the main land to the island 1.5 miles each way just to get fresh water. Then I got my first 3hp motor and we didn't row anymore. The wife the other day told me about this cross fit exercise she was doing and she then showed me how it was done. Sure looked a lot like picking up concrete blocks off the ground and putting it up on scaffolding like I did working summers as a teen. What some look as fun others look as work. I do have a kayak but its only for where my 600hp Nova 19 cant take me.
I started rowing an aluminum flat bottom rowboat with a fat fisherman. Years later I bought a single, wooden sculls at first. A car accident limits my neck rotation, but I manage. Great sport.
You can see that the slight hand and finger change to turn the blades up is so minimal that you cant see it. Then it involves some skill to keep blades above water as sculls are brought forward. The most skill is required to turn the blades and insert them into the water without splash. He is elite in skill and stamina. 2000 is a long way to keep high stroke rate without a mistake.
Great job man! solid strokes all the way to the end. Nice keeping the upper body elevated during the whole piece. Haha I sort of do the same thing as you what I'm about to tell you. The only thing I would recommend to work on is that I noticed that your tap down is a little to early. You need to let your oars come all the way out of the water before feathering them. Thats the only advice I have to offer besides maybe when squaring and feathering your blades instead of using your wrists use more of your fingers so the power/resistance being pulled by your legs and body doesn't get put down on your wrists and makes it up your arms so your upper body can take over. Anyways man good rowing and keep it up!
Wow! Nice video! Haven't been in a boat since 2006, and loved my single scull. The PoV brings back memories that aren't just visual... the sensation of movement, my breathing pattern, the smoothness of the acceleration at the catch, the crisp cold air, the quietness of being on a 2k lake, being inhumanely fit... and beating the other guy by a country mile :D
Man you were flying. I'm guessing these high performance skulls aren't cheap. I think I paid $250 for my first used canoe and the guy threw in 3 PFDs, a back rest, and 2 wood paddles. I doubt $250 would get me the seat in this beauty. Great video.
finsih/extraction looked a little forced
what boat brand and type is that? it look amazing

Look at perfect consistent blade depth!
Very fast very good technique

You are weak
What speeds do you reach?
what boat is that? Looks very stable even at rest.
I tried out a rowing machine at my gym. Yeah... that's enough for me.
Cool...and some Race Food..ruclips.net/video/TajZpvZUCK4/видео.html
7:36 total isn't bad at all.
Wow! A wonderful video! So straight and such a good endurance… as a rowing athlete I am really impressed!

Hey! You should do more of these! Saw you had subbed to me, you'd make some really good money from these if you keep it up!
Appreciate the encouragement 🙏🙏
I will use this to show why I love going backwards.

Maybe training for 1500?
Just took my first 2 lessons this week and I'm hooked!! This was so helpful to see from your point of view. Cant wait to get back and practice!

Very trippy :/

@@recbo I have two wooden sculls, both inherited. Can't say how old they are for sure, but certainly older than I am.
Using this with my Concept ;)
Oh god I’d catch major crabs
good job dude!
definitely takes some dedication. good work
Amazing!
Я один сдесь русский гребец ?
Не один😉
Do the handles turn automatically when coming out of the water or do you have to do that yourself?
Nah you have to turn them yourself

that boat looks way too nice🥵🥵 I'm kinda jealous, but you deserve it more than me👍👍💪🏼
This fits in that category for me of "I am not sure what I just watched, but it was oddly satisfying"
fucksake 36 stroke rate!
Sounds like a really good beat

Why am I so nervous
Adoro😍
Pretty good job. What was the time? Around 7 minutes? What was the rate? (strokes per minute)
Are rowers just mules for the cartel?

I bought a used fiberglass single and wooden sculls for $450 cash. It cracked in half, after 250 miles. Good enough to learn.
A few more cameras, some editing software and you'd have a nice 2 minute movie.
A stroke about every two seconds. ...Fine, sustainable, optimal, really fastest sculling!
such good racing conditions
Nice Nice view . How old are you?
This Sport looks so much more exciting in first person
NeoSkyliner True, when you are racing is epic 😁
@@ipp9691 especially when you finish and realise that the pain and the hard work was worth it
It’s fun and all until you catch a crab during a race
You did it twice the distance i did in that time
