A Not-So-Serious Car Chase Song
I am back and I am not dead! To prove I am not dead, here's a song you've never heard before!
A while back, I posted a track called "Dangerous Pursuit", which I composed in a film scoring class. It was made as a backdrop to a movie scene with a car chase, so everyone in the class made a track that seriously accompanied it.
We were then instructed to rescore that same scene again, but ironically. We needed to give it music that actively contrasted the mood of the chase. So I went for a jazzy, boogie-woogie extravaganza!
For this song, I had to keep the instrumentation more limited than the typical orchestral blast I'd go for because we were going to record these songs live at a later time, so...

But before that, I'm so sad about this video because the last song "π" from the Korean movie "Mathematician in Wonderland" sounded so beautiful. And this video is a scene from the movie. To briefly summarize the plot, a North Korean mathematician defects with his son because it is difficult to prove the Riemann Hypothesis in North Korea, and they succeed in proving the Riemann Hypothesis. However, in an environment where it is difficult to make money, the son defects, saying that he would rather live in a socialist paradise than a capitalist world, but the son dies due to a misunderstanding by the North Korean military, and the mathematician gives up on the Riemann Hypothesis and gets a job as a security guard at a high school. There, a student who saw a mathematician doing math whenever he had time asked him to teach him math, and since then, the relationship between a mathematician, two high school students, and society has developed.

It's actually quite an interesting title. At first one might think that its because of the lord rulers arrogance, calling himself a god. But then again it could be seen as some sort of warning because he himself tried to stop a god and failed to do so.

"sempere" means forever in spanish and "eyisi" means ice in zulu Forever Ice?
Huh. That's news to me. I originally made the song and couldn't think of a name to go with it, so I made something up on the spot and English was the only language I knew. I had heard of the word "sempere" before but only had a vague idea of what it meant, and I have no idea where I thought of "eyisi". I just typed random letters and assumed I made something up. I should have known I was using a word that existed. :/ So yeah, let's go with "Forever Ice", I guess. Thanks!

Man we are in leitmotif city! Absolutely love the recurring use of all these different leitmotifs. Sets my mind to thinking about how certain leitmotifs might progress and evolve over the course of the whole Mistborn Saga.
If you know me, you know I love me my motifs. I still have a ways to go with Era 2 leitmotifs, but I have an idea for how one Era 1 melody can morph into something different for Era 2.

I've been re-reading the Final Empire these last few days, and literally all the time in my head I hear your leitmotifs. Especially the one for Main Theme/Kelsier theme/the hope theme (not sure if it's meant to represent one in particular) and the one for the Final Empire. They just feel so genuinely magical.

I haven't really done a Wax and Wayne theme, have I? I should definitely do that at some point. A kind of Era 2 suite. I don't think I could ever top David Larsen's "Twinborn", but I'm sure it'd be fun to give things my own spin.
My wife and I finished the mist born trilogy just a couple of days before our first daugter was born. My wife listens to this song almost every night to put our daughter to bed. She loves the feelings of the song and she loves the sound of it. She has probably listened to it probably a 100 times. Thank you so much for this song. It has added to our family.

Sazed!! One of my favorite characters in the whole series. That part of the book was so intense. I love the interpretation of making it grand and slow instead of nonstop cation. If this was a movie, it makes me imagine chaos happening as the looming threat rises, then as the end nears, everything starts to go in slow motion, cutting between characters until it's all over. 😢 Exceptional work, and the instrument and voice quality is amazing.
