The boots are confusing.. to me it seems like they really don’t fit correctly whether you put them LL RR or LR LR 🤦‍♂️so if anyone has taken them apart for the first time take a photo

Thanks for posting this, I'm about to flush out old fuel and try and flush out carbs with cleaner without stripping them out and down ;>) ONE THING: Um; just came across this ... haven't watched it all yet ... only want to say 'cross point screwdriver' ... Japanese Motorcycles us JIS screwdriver, different angles that won't round out the screw. But, hey, 10 years ago - <grin> you've probably found that out by now!

Question for you, you set top dead centre and then turned the crank, does that not take it off TDC ?

There's also a little collar inside which you didn't show and doesn't always come out depending if it's ever seen the light of day which most exup's haven't!

Scrap? You can have it rebuilt with new hardened seats, bronze valve guides, and resurfaced for a round $500. I think we generally charged around $300 depending on what parts needed replaced.

Hiya mate. If I did this route in reverse and continued past Elland, do you know if I could get to Mirfield on the canal towpath? A mate actually lives on a static barge at Mirfield and he reckons I could. Been trying to scope it on Google maps etc, but it's a bit confusing and the proper cycleway route seems to stop at Brighouse. Any ideas or experience around that area? Thanks in advance. If not, I'm just gonna get on the towpath at Salterhebble and try not to get lost.

thanks for your engine rebuild videos gave me the confidence to tear down my own (so far so good)^^ PS. if you look at the manual carefully there are two methods described for torquing down the head. one with cams installed and one without the cams ;) (i know you finished yours already but could be useful for the next guy)

I bought a zxr400 last week and today it died while drivin it and doesn't start anymore, all oil and coolant is mixed about to take off the head and change head gasket on it.. any tips for me since I have not changed head gaskets on 4 strokes before only on a 2 stroke 125cc which is a completely different procedure than 4 stroke.. thanks

Hello mate I have a question and in need of some help, cylinder 1 and 2 is producing very low compression, how do I restore the compression, could it be valve clearance or something else? It takes a lot of time to start up and when it does ip the idle is very rough and when I open the throttle it doesn't Rev and as soon as I release the choke it dies? Please help much appreciated. Hi there, I just bought a thunderace and it has a bad 2nd dog gear . My question for you is when you have the sump pan off the bottom of motor can you access the transmission from there or do you need to pull motor?

With some work you could have a half decent gun. However, that group was awful so clean the barrel, tighten up the stock screws, replace the breech seal and put a decent scope on it!
