I promise that there will be a full 'How to Build a Whip' tut...

When is the next La whip con?
It seems to me that this is a good way to produce a straight tapered whip, but not to get that lance shape mentioned early in the video. You wouldn't want even lengths between strand drops because that would produce a relatively straight taper, even going over multiple bellies. To get a lance shape, you'd want to bunch up the strand drops closer to the handle and stretch them out toward the end of the thong, i.e., most of the strands have dropped by the halfway point and only a couple are left after the halfway point. So rather than a linear strand drop with an even distance between each strand drop, you'd want it more like an exponential (or logarithmic, depending on how you look at it) strand drop. The distance between each strand drop should be increasingly longer as you progress. I'm certain there's an easy trig calculation that would fill out the perfect lengths to follow the profile you want with a lance shaped whip cross section, but it's been far too long since I've applied any trig to be successful in that regard. I suppose one could get some graph paper and draw an exponential curve on it, then simply count the distances out and translate those to strand lengths. Different amounts of exponential would either increase or decrease this effect from a linear strand drop, and once you've found a good curve that works in an actual whip the way you want, you can take that formula and simply scale it up or down to accommodate different whip lengths and belly counts. The whole concept continues to fascinate me when I see whipmakers working with roo hide whips and carrying the same number of strands from handle to fall, only tapering the strands themselves and beveling them. Being able to get that taper just perfect with no obvious transitions from one diameter to the next over the entire length of the thong, by hand and eye alone, is one of the more impressive things I've seen people do.
手で編んで貰えると、分かりやすかったです。ありがとうございます😊
From those all the vidios I've been watching miraclely in this vidio i succeed make my first Turk's u so I'll follow u
i enjoyed using a tapered fall on my first. thank you very much for that. i would like help with how to use a longer rod in the handle to approximate hybrid performance. i used 15" fiberglass in place of 12" following Adam's "bare bones" whip, but i also extended the belly and the adds, winding up with a 9 ft. now i hope to build a sensible 7 ft. how does a 16" rod sound? thanks for the encouragement, teaching, and kindness.
16" handle would be long for a bull whip but you can use the same general formula for any size whip
Alway had an idea how this type of handle is done, now I at least know your method. Would like to know the thought behind why you still do the bellies as though you were still using the whole length of the platting (on the handle portion) only to cut a large section out. Hope you post more on this channel. BTW, I like bacon too, but puzzled why 'Cracking my newly made whip' did not make the list on your T shirt. Thanks for sharing.
Have you ever tried winding the sinew on a stick? It allows you to pull on it to the point of breaking, which is hard to do with the cardboard spool. I have been using this method for years and I can make bindings as tight as the sinew will allow.
I haven't tried that but ill guce it a shot. I have a dowl that I put in the cardboard tube so it won't collapse
Why did you divide by 5 on the overlay?
Adding or dropping in doubles it gives an even space between all the drops. Just how I've gotten the math to work out
Whish i would have known. Looked like a great time.
Great tournament!!!
I hope to have the 2024 video out soon
@@eliasonwhipco Great!!! We are waiting for the same beautiful moments!!!
How does a person gauge what length whip to get? Mine was a novelty variant that is falling apart and I need to find a new whip.
Short answer is start with a 7 foot. Long answer message me through Instagram and we can figer out the best length for you
Adam needs a better personality! I think he was quite rude from when I met him!
thank you, greetings from Kazan
Hello
Thank you for your video. Please send me a link or close up picture of the clips they hang on. My autistic son cracks whips and I am cleaning his room today and I jumped online to find a way to hang his whips! Thats how I found you! Please share where i can get these hangers thx!
They are 3m command strips I show them in a video of making a whip wall in my old shop
It is me or were there sirens in the background?😅 1:16
I wouldn't be surprised it's a busy neborhood
Full cereal box and Watermelon could be fun.
No bottles are cans
Muchas Gracias!!!
"Promo SM" 👊

very nice whip
Thank you 😊
20 minutes of mumbo jumbo, unclear math
Sorry I tried my best
This is great! I've been watching so many videos trying to get this knot to work. Your explanation is the best I've seen. I finally got it right thanks to you.
Awesome I'm so glad it helped!
Nice! Those are beautiful.
Thank you so much!
nice work brother
DAMMMMMM DUDE THAT WAS SATISFYING! CRAZY ACCURACY
Thats so cool!!! Would love to be there
There's always next year

thanks so much for making this video Isaac! even though I couldn't make it out this year it was the next best thing to being there.
You were greatly missed by all! I'm glad I could make the next best thing :)
Great coverage, brother! Great to re-live it all again. Such a great time.
Thanks Nick still working on my Cinematography But I'm glad I can give people the Re-Live feeling.
Awesome video! I loved seeing all of the different competitions and routines. I’m definitely going to make attending a priority next year!!
you really should man its so much fun and you'll learn a ton just from talking with other makers
Congrats isaac on your success you really deserve it! I wish you much more success in your career, marriage and business.
Thank you so much brother!
What makes the cracker not usable. Like why do we have to replace them? Do they just rip and tear? I had no idea that the cracker is just thread. I had the misconception that what cracks is the steel balls or beads.
The cracker is the part of the whip that sees the most abuice going super sonic over and over again. It also hits the ground and can get tide up in knots so its good to replace them every once in a wile. I'm planning on shooting a video on what a cracker looks like that needs to be replaced
Awww!!! Congratulations on your move!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 very cool - I appreciate the spool organizer!
its my favorite part of the shop!
“Super informal” but SUPER helpful! That’s genius! I’ll have to try it out
I'm glad it helped!
What would you change to transfer this method to a snake whip?
I would start the taper much sooner say 3 inches from your 0 point where your heal knot would be.
Hey man just watched your how to plan out a whip length. Hope you're going to put out your how to build a whip video. I've made two whips so far and would like to see how yours are done. Thanks a lot
One of these days I am going to shoot one
𝓹𝓻𝓸𝓶𝓸𝓼𝓶 😝
Awesome , thanks
Oh my, I had flashbacks to watching Etho vidoes back in 2012...
😉
Super satisfying to watch👌🏽.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
i wish you knot tying guys would do this slower
I'm going to do a video on expanding knots one day and I'll keep that in mind thanks for the feed back!
Ok.but I do not like the way you finished the knot you should have gone through the middle of the knot so the end come out through the the other side ,the reason for this is the way you tied this Turks head is like a foot rope knot and if you were to turn it end for end you would make a diamond knot.
I need to do one of these videos.
Was that kid in the back ground yelling Stop It? 😆
I have no idea I don't remember anyone yelling just some kids playing ball with there mom
