Hey just curious, was the 16.5 width the total width or just the inside boards? Is it actually 19.5 total with the extra 1.5” on both sides? My 150 gallon tank is 18.5 wide.

Per his video I’d say you’re correct about what you’re thinking. He said he cut 12 of those to be 16.5”, so if they’re inside the longer 2x4s then you’d be correct on the 19.5” depth.

The second stand is completed based on his blueprints, one is larger than the other with his advised boards to lengthen. Works flawless. Thank you for the SHORT tutorial! He may have said this in his video i just can't recall right now but a helpful tip would be to predrill your holes in the first 2x4 prior to running the screw in. Makes it easier to run in but most importantly prevents the wood from splitting. Thank you for the video!

I’ve read and seen to successfully add them introduce them in as a pair while at the same time adding 4 or more other fish for a big distraction. Only way I’ve known to pull it off. As far as color. Diet is a major roll. I make a mix. And feed 5 times a week early morning. I use Ron’s cichlid food Fluval bug bites pellets New life spectrum pellets Once I mix it all I separate it into 4 parts and refrigerate the 3 bags until needed. In addition I feed them early evening every other day with Fluval bug bites flakes. Lastly I had one female venustus in the tank to make them peacock and color. I recently this week removed her as she was holding fry. I thought it was just not eating. And had suspected it female for many months. But confirmed this week. Lastly water perimeters. 8.0 ph At 80 degrees, nitrates never over 40. Hope this info helps.

Different fish species require different habitats. I see you have based your opinion without first retaining the knowledge of this specific species needs. There is much to learn about haps and peacock cichlid species. And once you’re educated on the keeping of this particular species, it can be very rewarding raising such beautiful fish. Have a look around RUclips. There are several wonderful professional cichlid RUclipsrs to choose from and learn from on this species. And I hope you find yourself learning from them. Ultimately in the end you will have learned that this 150 gallon tank is only at 1/2-3/4 to stocking level. Also you will learn that filtration plays a major part as well. But you’re smart. You’ll figure it out. And that’s the fun part of the hobby. Learning. I hope you enjoy the other videos.
