I had a Carlson 24 Trimaran. The only one of its kind I've ever seen. 600hp V8. Turned on the water like a Corvette. Top speed 87mph. RIP Art Carlson your boats were always ahead in styling.
80s glory love it
Holy crap how much valve lift do you need to pass a cigar? Lol!
I got an 83 glassply scimitar 18 ft Donzi hull riders like a dream in the chop on Puget sound she tops out at 58 mercruiser setup I'm going to post some videos thanks for the video😊
Very cool.
What a glorious sound!
Carlson was so far ahead of his time he was a true visionary
Great boat and memories - I spent my summers at Turkey Point / Pottahawk and always admired your dad's boat as a young boy. My Grandpa had a trailer behind the store next to the Sandbar restaurant and would often see the boat in that area. To this day it is still my most favourite boat of all time. I am glad that you are still able to enjoy it!
Thanks for your nice comments! I'm sure that boat was all over the Turkey Point area back in the day. I still take it out to Pottahawk now and then, good memories!
Just think of all the head injuries those things have caused over the decades 🙄
Wow tha would be cool to be there to see that
That is a beautiful boat! I've always loved the Scimitar's, but never actually seen one in person. It's very cool it's been in your family since new....extremely rare to see that with a 44 year old boat! You can tell you've treated it very well, too.
Greetings from lake of bays apprently gull lake is the place to be when witnessing boat racing includes the Muskoka sea flee group
Thank you. I summered in, then lived in Muskoka from 1966 to 2001. Now I live 2000 miles away from this museum so will probably never get to see it. I will certainly look it up if I find myself back in the neighborhood. Very nice collection.
Greetings from lake of bays thanks for the presentation I own a 1939 Johnson outboard 10hp very rare and rope starts on the back of a 15 ft cedar strip boat
The styling has aged very well. Beautiful.
Boy that boat was definitely ahead of its time absolutely beautiful
That is really something. Wow!!
Too awesome like a water corvette I love it would love to have one
MUSIC!!!! WHY=?!??!??!??!
Excellent...
Cool boat. I've never seen one in person. Seen many Glastron boats, but never one of these.
Its in a James bond movie its special
Just saw this for the first time now and it made me really happy! Thanks for capturing this awesome day with us Tim! -Gus
That engine is a masterpiece of mechanical art. Thanks for preserving it.
Thank you for sharing such a beautiful work of art.
Excellent job Tim.
Thanks Walter, good to see you on the trails!
Oh my lord. Hold on, that left turn will rip your head off.
It's pretty scary for sure!
Need more horse power
Normally the boats would run with more powerful engines, but at the TIBS show, the "Lake" was more or less a big swimming pool. Waves, distance, the course. The motors were running on propane as well.
Gorgeous. Anyone know what that knob he’s turning at 1:35 does? I wondered as the boat was accelerating while he turned it. Never seen a throttle like that before.
Elegant fury..........
You can see how much Matt Herrmann is enjoying that magnificent boat! 👍
Wow nearly 100 years old and looks fantastic
Merry xmas '23. I have an opportunity to purchase the very same boat out west in Canada. What should I expect to pay for a similar condition identical boat and trailer?
Very good question. Best to hire an appraiser. But it will be based on condition of the finish, the transmission, and any rot in the subframe that is plywood structure.
Such a sleek and beautiful boat! I'd love to see much more of it!
You Can! www.duvernetphotography.com. Lots of other boats there as well.
@@timothyduvernet2711 Thanks!
Well done Rob!!!
Rob's team does great work!
Hello from oakville Ontario Canada my family owns an original ditchburn nothing like this rare beauty
This boat spoils all the water and fish with it's exhaust
Not really. It "ran" once or twice and has never run since. Problems with cooling and the cost of finishing the engine restoration have kept it out of the water ever since, which makes this video even more remarkable.
2.28 Removing her bra was she ? 😊
Pity about the loud music. Drowned out the engine sound.....
it's a good looking boat, sexy.
I recall back when this boat came out seeing it, even in the same color, in some magazine with some scantily clad hot babe. Still, my attention was drawn to the boat. Thank you for preserving it.
I want one.
Enjoyed the beach at Lake Simcoe with family, this summer, my only advice is to stay off Flare airlines.
The James Bond boat used in the movie Moon Raker!
no, it wasnt.
The scimitar was never in any bond movies , the CV23HT was in moon raker
Glasstron was way ahead in marine style. Most you find now are pretty beat up. But a great boat to restore. The style is classic yet still ahead of its time. 😊
Good vid But u need to up the v olume!
Awesome boat! When i was a kid my dad had a dealership for Glastrons and we would use them until he sold it.I had a great childhood with those sweet boats!
If you’re paying someone to wax/buff your boat then you definitely have no idea what you’re doing owning that boat. You just have a good mechanic
I actually know quite a bit owning this boat. I'm a member in all the vintage Glastron/Carlson groups, all the forums and have learned a lot from the experts. I've also winterized it, changed the oil in the motor and drive, and set the dwell on the points before it was upgraded to an electronic ignition. I've also rewired the trailer and installed modern electronic brakes. And if you know anything about these old boats, you better have a good mechanic if you've got anything OMC which this is. Turns out my boat mechanic's son is very talented at buffing/waxing old metal-flake so I tossed him some extra business. Does that bother you?
Need to get one of these Glastrons. My first boat was a Glastron .
