But you can see the cut out at door handle level. If I came across this I would for sure try and turn it. My son is turning two soon. He would probably try it. This is cool but not hidden.

On my Fender Jazz bass, the bridge pickup is longer than the neck pickup, to accommodate the wider string spacing.

So the pickup pole pieces line up better under the strings-as the string spacing gets wider at the bridge. The slanted pickup gets the pole pieces under the strings a bit better. Pickup sizes are fairly standardized and they are not made for specific string spacing differences from the neck spacing to the bridge string spacing. The fact that the bridge pickup slant provides a marginally different tonal response than a perpendicular pickup is a happy coincidence **It’s just string spacing**

come on, just choose proper stock. It is a cheap wood, you can be picky. This board is trash and in most applications it would be discarded. I use construction-grade pine to make furniture here in Brazil (and here, pine boards are mostly used to make concrete forms, not in the construction per se; so, not much quality). I wouldn't even use this piece to make the bottom of a chest -- it could ruin the stored linen.

  • @spekenbonen72

ALMOST there... You should look into string vibration and how harmonics work in string vibration. Just like pinched harmonics (which happen at SET distances relative to the bridge). The distance from the bridge to the P.U. decides which harmonics are picked up by the P.U. And I'm no guitarbuilder nor a scientist. But Relative distance from the bridge to the P.U. is what dictates the voicing of a guitar. Not the type of wood (would for tonewoodsnobs), strings or P.U. (2 P.U.'s of the same type will sound the same, when placed in the EXACT same position. One might be louder then the other, but the tone (toan for tonesnobs) will be the same). The ideal guitar would have rails on which you can move the P.U....

Pine is a very common material for wall paneling and benches in Finnish saunas. Might have to start regarding them as an instrument material, steamed and roasted for fifty years should be somewhat dry and free of resin.

So I do long distance unicycling. You just gave me an idea to use a wheelchair wheel as a unicycle wheel. I always free mount my unicycle (meaning i don't hold onto anything.) If you pretend the wheel is a clock.. I put my dominant pedal at 6 o'clock and grab the tire with my hand and pull it forward and hop on. If I were to use a wheelchair wheel I could grab the side handle and not have to worry about getting my hands grimy from the tire..

For single coils, I actually prefer *"reverse slant"* pickguards. Warmer highs, tighter and snappier lows. Only part that I don't like is I have to cut my own pickguards 😂 About tone, I like taking inspiration from other guitar players, but never try to _copy_ their tone. I'm not a purist or traditionalist.

I have two Strat copies that have the bridge pups perfectly parallel to the bridge. The tone is great and a bit beefier on the lower strings, but I kind of feel like the black sheep of the strat player family. These are keepers because of their simple rarity, so they stay with me for now, especially when other players notice the lack of the bridge pup tilt and then it's like "Wah??".
