From the British television comedy series "The Strange World of Gurney Slade", musical performance by Anthony Newley with special guests Janette Scott, Gordon Heath, Lionel Blair and Peter Sellers on drums, on the variety special 'Saturday Spectacular' show, recorded in 1960.
This is a surrealistic movie. And the script makes as much sense as any 007 movie. Actually it´makes much more sense than any Daniel Craig movie. And it is much funnier, and the soundtrack is the best
Peter was a gem.
La Academia de Cine Le Debe Un Merecido Homenaje a Este Extraordinario y Magistral Actor. Uno de los Grandes Comediantes de Los Últimos Tiempos ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
been gone 44 years to the day one of the best actors ever.
Yes, a true genius who gave us so much joy in his performances either in an early Goon show or hit Hollywood movie. His private life was another thing entirely, as far as we know.
This is gold. Thanks for posting 😊
Quite strange how he says he was born in Yorkshire when actually his birthplace is Southsea - at the opposite end of England! He must have been very ill with his talk of "at my time of life" - he had only just turned 54! Thanks for finding and sharing this.
Not surprised he went quite when they asked him if he was successful in Hollywood he must have known that the film Fu Manchu was not going well
This is awesome! Thanks for posting!
We must find that woman...
The last time I saw this trailer was indeed May of '79, and have been searching RUclips for yearrrrs!!🙏thanks for uploading it!!!!
Is it as bad as people say it is?
@@timelordvictorious It's not terrible. On a scale from "The Great McGonall"-to-"Being There," it's somewhere around "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland." Great production value, but the comedy is painfully absent.
Herd this film was a bit of Disaster for Peter sadly.apparently he asked to marry the German actress in shot in the dark wonder if it was Awkward for them to act in this film?
Similar issues to robin Williams. Brilliant.
Very fidgety like his colleague Spike
Thin line between crazy and genius, he managed to teeter on the edge of both for good and bad. Brilliant comedian and actor when he got to show off his range. Side note: what's he fidgeting with at the start?
This interview was as close to himself as you'll ever see.
The film "The Life and Death of Peter Sellers" showed the real man!
I still go around saying i am inspector Jacque cluseo of the surete etc etc
There will only ever be one Inspector Closueau. And that's Peter Sellers.
Wonderful insanity , joyous whimsy , self-deprecating sly silliness, call it what you will . A film such as Casino Royale can never be made again . We take ourselves much , too much F-ing serious . And we are poorer for it.
It took me about a minute or two after until I understood that Jewish joke
I tried to watch the movie but didn't have the stomach to finish it. The only thing i like is the song "The look of love". That song deserved a better movie.
This is Pure insanity featuring Peter Sellers.
Being There👍
Boffo work!!!!!
Peter wouldn't recognize London today. It's gone, destroyed.
And of course Peter Sellers would die in England as he predicted.
Who are the people in the band ?
Anthony Newley, Janette Scott, Gordon Heath, Lionel Blair and Peter Sellers
@@misterpetersellers I recognised Gordon Heath from the 1959 film Sapphire. He plays the ex boyfriend of a murdered black girl who passed for white.
It would have been perfect if they had ended with Chance telling a story about his uncle getting eaten by cannibals. Not a joke.
Insuring shanties 😂😂😂
Very, very good movie.
Where did he live in Ireland?
Peter lived in Maynooth, County Kildare for a little while
I adore Peter sellers.love his patriotism and piss on anyone who hated him because he was sick, not bad,all the stuff he complaining about USA Cali culture is now sadly the same here,Americans in Cali are just too out there ,it must be so frustrating for right minded folk from Texas or anywhere away from the crazy 3 or 4 states that push this crazy woke agenda,we ain’t like that here,he liked real people which u could say is a surprise given how crazy and out there his work was,he must have wanted normality away from work rip🇬🇧👍🇺🇸

JUST VERY INTERESTING AND NOT OUT OFASHION
Love this movie thanks for posting this !
His laugh..
Feldman's Casino Royale(1967) was a campy mess. It felt like a parody of the 1960's spy movie-mania. The music score by Burt Bacharach and Herb Alpert is a keeper. EON got the Casino Royale film rights in the year 2000.
Thank you so much! It is my favorite movie.❤ What a moving scene! The original ending is better, but this alternate ending is also very nice.😊
Awsome Orson. Hilarious! 😂😂😂👍🏻
I'm thankful that Blake Edwards kept the raw footage. Most directors would just throw every unused bit in the garbage. This is also the reason how the Trail of the Pink Panther was completed.
The art in it's purest form
Love that interview he gave on parkinson! The characters he did and the stories he told. So funny. Michael parkinson was in fits of laughter. A master story teller.
1:44 Peter Sellers doing groucho, that was awesome.
He was so obsessed with gadgets, it would have been so interesting to hear his take on the internet. Amazing interview.
The constant twists and turns become annoying after a while. The cast is superb and the story is entertaining, without being original. It turns out Alec Guinness did die after all and that his character wasn't blind. Sidney Wang's children were adopted.
This is the best comment ever 😂
A right bloody waste of time and money! All those different directors and writers working on the film and failing to salvage anything. "Casino Royale" (1967) is a terrible film and a classic example of self-indulgence.
Peter Sellers and Blake Edwards don't look too comfortable in each other's company. They don't acknowledge each other or anything. Filming "The Pink Panther Strikes Again" was a nightmare for Blake Edwards.
Trua shakig his BF curls!!!
There's no way that anyone could get away with telling that martian joke these days. Peter Sellers was giving a performance for this interview - as always. Entertaining all the same.
I love how he goes into the character just at the second he senses he was being a bit too normal and serious.
