James May: Our Man in Japan - Honda Factory scene
been following your progress on discord. Awesome!
Car go fast
I came
Good driving buddy 🎉
I grad Because he went to come my local area in Kumamoto(Honda Factory) 2:52 Last Scene Winding Road is Aso🌋 That place Touring spot🏍️
Fährst wie ein typischer Skodafahrer. Denken auch immer, dass sie im Ferrari sitzen.
rechts überholen :/

I ride one for twenty years,I love Honda...
That factory is in Kumamoto, that's where my XL100S was made over 40 years ago. It's cool that the factory is still making motorcycles
James is useless. It looks deliberate, but I can't quite tell.
He’s kinda mocking the Japanese - seems pretty disrespectful.
I flash these and 9500 is as far as i raise the rev limiter may
Lighten up, Francis - it was a joke for crying out loud. I give May credit for properly calling it out as a CB1100.
The sad thing is that I watched this entire series when it came out just a few years ago, and I had totally forgotten about this segment. My memory is the real joke these days.
GPS coordinates of factory, 32.89813418351131, 130.86199970225775
would really love to see a CT 125 in the assembly line.
What an idiot. Take something serious once. Clarkson should have done this bit.
jappense motorcyles made in japan by japenese workers that is what i took from this why dont we make triumph bikes in the UK why did dyson and others like jim ratcliff move out of the UK
It is all a question of maximising profit
Honda doesn't not only assembly bikes in Japan. The are factories in China and Thailand.
Because they're sh!t Triumph Motorcycles are built in Thailand and not England because the workers there were lazy, went on strike all the time and demanded a high wage but produced a low quality product. You can blame the EU, the Bureaucracy, Thatcher and what ever bogeyman you can muster but the fact of the matter is, BMW and Ducati are still able to build their high end bikes in Germany and Italy (which are EU countries) because their skilled workers were good and their bikes are good bikes.
I would always rather bank on the reliability of a Honda over a RE any day. I bet the service intervals of the Honda is much greater than those of the RE too, which needs servicing every six months or 2,500 miles! The Honda is a new engine too, unlike the dated RE.
do your home work please
And this is why the British motorcycle industrty went out of business.
because of james may ?
No because when BSA/Triumph did walk thoughs they didn't make visitors wear white hats. It ruined the industry for UK.
Not Triumph they make great bikes still...
James did not look comfortable fitting that exhaust clamp. That concerns me. yes, they are fiddly, you don't have much room, but he should have done that previously on a gazillion bikes, surely?
@@frankfisher99 could be the pressure of having multiple supervisors and a camera crew around you
@@chronos_vnc no worse than having my neighbour watching...
May does plenty of things simply for a laugh. Whether or not he actually struggled with that bit is neither here nor there provided enough people found it entertaining.
“Our Man in Japan” would gain more respect by seeking an apology for the atrocities committed against mankind during WW2
White helmet obviously for locals means "Idiot at vicinity, be aware!"
Taiso (Yellow Magic Orchestra)👍
Take note ALL motorcycle manufacturers…this is what a real motorcycle manufacturing plant looks like. Honda engineer and build the best motorcycles…period. They pay attention to details…like being dedusted. This is Honda!
And Yamaha and Suzuki and Kawasaki.
Buffeting
0:05 Thanks , now we know how it comes that they are with so many , they must use some good manure to keep up that fast growing , just to bad they do not grow a little higher ( they probably get pruned to much) 😁😁👍👍👍👍
I have toured that Honda Factory in Kumamoto and been on the factory floor back in the mid 90's. Huge place and yes, my Nikon camera was not allowed on certain parts of the tour. They were quite strict about that and you can't blame them.
What they use to do many years
Why would you say "my Nikon camera..." instead of just saying "my camera"?
Very serious about proprietary technology and the whole manufacturing process. Very unlike most of the rest of the world. Poke fun at them if you will, but they make superior products.
If you manage to rev a Honda CB1100 to 12000rpm you will need a new engine.
@@cj599 Your comment does not negate mine...rev a cb1100 to 12000 and it will grenade. I note you 'say' you have had it to 10000 but set the limiter to 9500 so even you have got nervous at those revs. Adding another 2000 is a huge difference. The standard redline at 8500 means that at 12000 is a difference of 41%!!!!!!. If you know anything about piston speed and loads you will understand that 12000 is a ridiculous expectation.
@@cj599 What bike was that? I had a cb1300 for 8 years. It made 115hp and redline at 8500. It's a longstroke like the 1100.
i eat ass
🔥🔥
mix could be a lot better tho. very sad because this could slap super hard
Wanna talk about it somewhere in DMs?
So first you say it's fire and than you say it sad and it could be better. Ok b uddy, make up your mind will you.
very fire
1:27 this calm scene is nice and I like the music, I don’t know what it is.
James, someone said you’re not a motorcycle mechanic’s arse! I stuck up for you and said you were! 🙈🏍️😂😂

What season and episode is this ?
One day this man will learn how to make banger synth intos and numbers will grow.
There's a video about a Wartburg factory. A man who looks suspiciously like Def Leppards vocalist repeated kicks the front panel to make the bonnet latch they kick the whole cars together😂😂😂. And then brag about build quality😂😂😂😂. Weren't they designed in 1948 they look like they were😂😂😂
You mean this?: ruclips.net/video/mIAYxWCXF8A/видео.htmlfeature=shared Actually its the Trabant factory in Zwickau.
