Honestly, it's an interesting premise: a man so utterly obsessed with being normal, that he continues to refuse the notion that magic exists, even as he's smacked with undeniable evidence and becomes the Chosen One. The closest he gets to accepting his destiny is during the final duel, where he chews out Voldemort for his behavior, and straight-up shoots him instead of dueling him. Even then, it's more him finally snapping after seven years of his sanity being chiseled away as his denial becomes less effective. "There! If he's an all-powerful wizard, why was I able to SHOOT HIM DEAD?! *WHY ARE YOU CHEERING?!"*

We all know vernon would be in the house of pancakes.

It's a shame that so many people only know Richard Griffiths as Vernon. He's honestly very underrated in his deliveries, i'm no expert but i don't think he's been a lead in a movie and that is just such a shame.
