If you want a good sampling of different guitar sounds, I highly recommend going to see Joe Bonamassa. He plays everything. But when he played that 335 of his, the tone was otherworldly.

Not an apples to apples comparison. Two different guitars, different scale, different electronics…everything. Anyway it’s all subjective obviously. You ain’t gonna’ get realistic David Gilmour out of humbuckers. 😂

I played a Les Paul 58 custom reissue with mini ….just with a cranked Orange Dark terror amp. Damn thing is a monster… guitar was 4000 $ I think…. I have American Pro Strat and American Pro Tele…and 10 other guitars, but my PRS LP clone can accurately reproduce Jimmy Pages Earls Court sound… the Custom Les Paul is a work of art, one guitar to rule them all ( except the 3 PU Black lespaul )

Playing with a bass and drums is a different test altogether.

I use this for a live setting and it frequently mutes itself. I’ve tried everything and it’s not been working out so great. IMO, save your money and get yourself a Shure PSM300.

is the pickguard from these strats the same format of a squier/fender?

ABR bridge vs Nashville bridge as well, Different pickups, magnets, Cover pickups vs uncovered. These things alone make a considerable difference. Ones a Custom shop one's a USA? I have both and the Les Paul fits me like a glove, 335 not so much.

Update: Donner have responded after a rep chased them up and have refunded the difference. Very happy Customer. Just bought the Maroon one. Thing is the day after I bought the guitar direct from their UK site they sent a 30% off code which of course was too late. I have contacted them to see if they'll do the decent thing and refund the difference by way of good will as at that point I hadn't even received it. I maybe premature but 4 days have passed and I have a feeling they won't reply, they say 24hrs usually via message e mail. They have no contactable telephone number either and I'm somewhat concerned as there are some red flags online posts about Customer care. Thankfully at least the guitar is a good one . No issues apart from a little truss adjustment, bridge lowered slightly and bridge humbucker needed a slight lowering. Strings changed coz that ones that came felt grubby. I agree with another reviewer that the Tone pots are just like a Switch there's no real control. Tuners are fine as is the bridge so I see no reason to change those intonation is spot on frets nice and level and nice edges no notable fret sprout. Early days but this is a great guitar and I doubt I'd get anything like this at the price range or even considerably above it. So I'd recommend the guitar but the jury is out on the after care. I'll let you know. If they let me down it just means I wouldn't buy again from them however I am happy with this guitar . Thanks for your review.😮

Playing a guitar with loads of distortion tells me nothing how the guitar actually sounds all its doing is revealing how the distortion sounds not the guitar.

In the beginning intro you said that you could use that Amp with guitar and bass... So where was the bass guitar? I own both instruments but don't have two separate amps so I was hoping you would show how to get the best sound with the Amp you had with bass guitar sounds.. Maybe a separate videos for us beginners who make due with what we may have on hand?

Well got to be honest I skirted past these initially coz they Said "Donner" and my first thoughts were cheap rubbish. Then I took the time to watch some reviews and I've gone full circle . Checking out Eastcoast G35 and Antiquity AQ 35 which are slightly cheaper but for not much more this appears to be a better guitar all round. I'm genuinely interested in this as a intermediate / advanced guitar player . I fancy a 335 model so far I'm leaning towards this. What I will say is competition to bring in more budget and playable guitars has been great for the buyer. Its my belief years ago something of this quality for the price you wouldn't get as it would have cost 2 or maybe 3 times more. My opinion on this hasn't just been through your video but others also. You can't all be wrong. Thank you

I dont think the clean sounded bad either. The amp itself seems a little bright. Ive seen a few peoppe review this before i came to that conclusion. The drive sound, while not conventionally pleasant, could still have some use. I think this amp for what it is is pretty cool. The delay sounded pretty nice tbh. I like that you showed it with modulation pedals too.

I know video is 3 years old, but using the sheriff v4 preamp with a peavey classic amp gets you everything, plexi tones from sheriff to pristine cleans from the peavey and perfect effects loop. Best combination ever

I play fingerstyle jazz. The action is too high for me. I do have one of these guitars. I want to lower the action and I think I will need to sand down the saddle. What kind of strings work best with this pickup system?

I have had both. And I run stereo ins and outs on my board to two amps. An obvious point in favor of rhe Illumine is the left to right order of the ins and outs. So much easier. On the UA they are stacked. I use pancake heads and this becomes an issue to get them to even fit with the power input. Both sound amazing. I have spring reverbs on my amps which cannot be beat. I just need a couple ambient reverbs dialed in and the Illumine is perfect for that. Easy to get to with the presets. So I have 2-3 set and forget sounds, toggle with the presets. Also I like pedals that are not more than 4.5” deep in order to fit on pedalboards. I would rather they be wide and not deep. I always found that curious about these UA pedals.

Are both guitars using the same amp settings? I ask because it makes the LP sound harsh. It really doesn’t have to be. Also is everything on the LP at 10? I tend to roll my volume back to 7-8 and tone between 4-5 which gives a nice 335 like low gain tone. All of that being said, I absolutely love the 335 tone 😊
