Wow Doug your landscaping is amazing! It’s so different than what we have here in Illinois. All of the different levels add so much drama. Shortly after I bought my home I did a lot of planting, put in a small pond and transformed a yard that had never been landscaped. It was a lot of work but so rewarding. I’ll be looking forward to your updates🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸

love the landscaping . I could do a lot back east but here in Nevada I can forget it.I cant grow a thing .Everything either ripens to soon or dies. Now when a person can kill a california cactus it is time to give up. My daughter who passed away from cancer gave it to me. I told her I seem to kill everything I plant out here and I am one that lived beside the mennonites in Ohio and had over a hundred tomato plants all kinds of veggies and flowers. Heck my chicks and hens died and they virtually dont need much care.

WOW!!! What an interesting and varied landscape ..... and the contrast in size, texture and color of your plantings against those large boulders sets it off PERFECTLY!!! What a beautiful approach & "frame" you've created for your spectacular home!! I would be tempted to transplant a couple of the sago palms to the bench area, filling in with "ice" plants & some color (yellow or orange?) for contrast. Depending on the microclimate under that bench, you might want to investigate sedums. "Stonecrop" looks like clusters of smooth rocks in varied colors, but there are other very sculptural sedums to choose from. You've done such an incredible amount of work in making the most of every available patch of soil & sunlight and it shows wonderfully well!!!! Can't wait to see Part 2!!
