Really dirty move by Earnhardt, this is why many people hated him so much. Sure he got passed on the last lap, that racing though, no need to dump rusty like that. That was pure frustration on Dale's part. Crappy move.

Everybody talking like they were there n knew what happened for real 🙄. Dale was upset rusty left him hanging the last lap. Rusty left dale hangin. Both said that later and dale said he didn't mean to wreck rusty exactly just give him a good shove like he shoulda done for Dale. Even today like 3 days ago at Daytona that shit happens. Cars bump drafting get turned. It's part of it. Anyone who says dale didn't care tho is an idiot and has absolutely no idea what they're talking about. If Dale just wrecked him to wreck him n didn't care he wouldn't of went all the way down to stop and check on rusty like he did. He was worried about rusty weather y'all wanna see and admit it or not. And I've raced and better believe you race someone long enough there's gonna be something

My first thought after watching this wreck. "This is when some badass motherfuckers like Rusty Wallace were surviving shit like this." Absolute icons they had in the series backthen.

Whats the main techinal difference between these cars and the cars of today at this type of racing? Seems very different. Do cars today have way more downforce and less power? Speeds are about the same, tires wouldn't probalby make any difference? Suspensions today are way better, smoother on the bumps? These old races feel more edgier.

I see a lot of debate about Earnhardt tapping him or intentionally spinning him. It's pretty obvious that he was trying to hook up with Rusty and push forward to the lead two cars. Wrecking rusty did NOT HELP HIM AT ALL. he needed a drafting partner if he wanted a shot back up front. He tried for rusty and unfortunately they hooked up crooked and he shoved him sideways instead of forward. Was it dales fault? Yes. Is it an extremely common thing that can happen to anyone when racing at Talladega? Yes. That's the nature of racing at Talladega. And by the way any Earnhardt fans that were mad at sterling marlin after the 2001 Daytona race are stupid people.
