Please note: that everything I show you here is all the clothing I own and the PERSONAL items I will be living with for at least a month. As a family, we still have everyday household items, like a lounge, beds, TV, plates, mugs, etc. This is simply an experiment to see what I actually need, use, and love.

Love your minimalist packing vids. You and Kyle travel so minimally 😊
Hi. Thank you. Kyle used to bring a lot more things, but over the past year or so, they realised that they didn’t need them and just started packing lighter. At first it was a joke and Kyle would say “ look, I’m using one bag, isn’t that sexy?” . lol
Packing time always great time! Have a wonderful trip!❤
I’m glad you’re back!! Please do an updated version of your wardrobe what new items you have added.. have fun in your trip. Note: I bought a mini tote bag 11by 8 inches and I was able to fit 3 days worth of clothes. I got it at hobby lobby not sure if you have that store in australia
Hi. No we don't have Hobby Lobby here, but we have similar stores. I'd love to know how long I could live in my little bag. If I was thinner, I'd have less material in each item.
Hi great to see another vid from you. Love the short hair. I’m always impressed with how minimalist you travel. Looking forward to your update vid too😊
Thanks so much! 😊
In this world is not Worth it to own much this days peoloe are tired of having roo much material possession etc .Ae expecting apocalypse too anyway.
Liked seeing the pile of stuff leaving your space...and quite love the change around of furniture. Wish I could have seen the final 'look' with the items out of the space! It really must feel spacious now!
How often do you do laundry? Thx!
B.stocks aren't what u think. I wasn't impressed. Soles are made of sub quality cork that went moldy. They were expensive, no thanks So many people are impressed with name brand....
Hi. Thank you so much for your input. It will definitely made me think twice. I dontvcare much about brands, but the quality, and thoughtbthey would be good. But yeah, thank you
Thank you🌻 New subscriber, i am a minimilist or simplist for most part of my life. I love your content❤ Wishing you love & blessings💚
With so little clothing, the items will wear out much quicker and the laundry cycles will be every 2nd day. I'm not a minimalist. I have 54 clothes, excluding sleepwear (2 winter PJs and 2 summer) and underwear, 8 pairs of shoes. Accessories = 2 beanies, 2 winter hats, 1 scarf, 1 pair of gloves. The above covers all 4 seasons, (Spring/ Summer 27 clothes and equally for Autumn/Winter). home and work, special events. I live in regional Victoria. I know that l wear 80% of my wardrobe throughout the year and they get worn out by the third year. I launder my clothes once a week. The 20% are my special occasion dresses for weddings, birthdays etc.
We could be the same person! Minimalist, family daycare provider, and lover of Reggio/Waldorf toys:) Oh, I too love our local birds and display them for the kids!
Hi. I think that's amazing. Unfortunately I no longer run FDC but really miss whatvI had going on.
Enjoying watching all your vids - working my way through them 😊
Thank you so much!!!
I have slowly been getting rid of clothes. I want to get down to only having a couple outfits. I just curious on how many times a week do you do laundry.
As a family of 4, there is usually enough washing each day to a load a day, or if I skip days, I'll do a few loads on the next day. It's really frustrating, but that's kids for you. For me personally, depending on the weather and what I've done, I can get in a load of my own there every 2nd or 3rd day. Less items can mean regular washing, but it really depends on the individual and different things you wear etc. There's always that idea of wash one, wear one, spare one. So really, that is 3 outfits and when your washing it all, you could be wearing pjs type clothes while you wait.
Hi Beke! Quiet subscriber here 👋😅 just wanted to say thank you for posting this, I’ve been a one-bagger for quite a while myself because I found it helps my autism/ADHD so much, I love to see others’ iterations of what they would keep in their manifesto of belongings 😊 love your videos! Thanks so much for sharing! Peace & love 💕
Thank you so much. I am similar. As someone who is asd and adhd, I find that one bag is just a great way to be a little stress free about these things. Minimal packing has been a special interests for years. Thank you souch for watching and for your comment
PLEASE NOTE: Kyle also had their phone as well.
Great video! Since I live in a all year long summer florida weather. I use clothes from the brand chicos travelers that has 90% acetate fabric. Not sure if you have that in Australia but maybe try looking at a thrift store.. let me tell you is the best fabric for all kinds of weather, sizes and is wrinkleless. And regarding the belt bag. I highly suggest lululemon belt bag or the Sak crochet belt bag.
Thank you for the suggestions. I've never heard of that brand before. But I'll look around on line at least.
Ever since i bought my lululemon leggins and biker shorts i got rid of literally all my other leggins around (10) i think now a day quality and comfort is my priority. Greetings from south Florida usa🎉
Yes, I totally get you.
Hello friend. I love your videos. Ive started to document my own journey to extreme minimalism on my yt channel so i can look back and see how far ive come. Its a very hard process to rehome your stuff and liberating experience at the same time. Sometimes i ask myself how did i let things go this far but i am human. Looking forward to more of your happy videos. Add more mini vlogs.
I know what you mean. It is definitely an ongoing lifestyle. I will have to check out your videos
I love this ! I want to do this too !
Hi. 😊 go for it! Give it a try and see how you go :)
A beautiful space! You're giving me ideas for my son's play space.
I am so happy to hear. Sadly, I do not have this space anymore, but I still loved it.
Good for you!! [I] Couldn’t do it!
You should give it a go :)
@@BekeDownes no!! I am a lolita and a maximalist but wanted to see someone else’s perspective!!
That's cool 😀
Thank you for sharing your experience. I will plan to do the same about living with just the backpack. It's also a reality check
That's so exciting. If you ever make any videos about it, please let me know.
Do you love all the items and feel good in them? Or is it 'just' clothes for you?
Hi. Sometimes they are "just clothes" but they also feel comfortable. I wear the things I like, but they have to feel comfortable on, which comfortable also means confident. I grew up in surfing towns, with parents who were surfer hippies/boho, so growing up, I liked shorts, long skirts, hoddies, surf shirts, and bikinis. In my late teens and 20s, I was more gothic, so my love of black has always been there.
I love you did this I always wanted to do this so so cool
You should totally try it. It's always interesting to new things.
I really hope your daughter feels better soon. Excellent video to show what you can grab and go in a hurry. Best wishes to you all.
Hi. Thank you for your comment. Although this was a year ago, her asthma is something we always have to keep am eye on. Luckily, we have only been in hospital once since this video, and I definitely take a lot less than this jow.
Complimenti per la tua essenzialità!
Hi Beke. Im a new subscriber to your channel. I live in North Brisbane too. Your minimalist capsule wardrobe is very inspiring. We do have great Winters here. I couldn't imagine living anywhere South. 🥶
Hi. Thank you for subscribing and for your comment. I am on the Fraser Coast, and winter is definitely my favourite of the year here. Though I can not stand summer most of the time, it's definitely good for us minimalists. 😂
Queenslander here too. I live south of you, but we live in a bit of a wind corridor, and I feel the cold. Really interested to see how your experiment goes .
I'm on the Fraser Coast.
game name?
lol funny Miko
I really like how you've included both warmer and colder weather items in your wardrobe. I'm looking to pare down and this is very motivating. Thanks for the video.
Wow! I was wondering how you managed but then you said you lived in subtropical QLD….so that makes sense. I’m impressed!
Thanks so much for watching and commenting! The funny thing about where I live, is that alot of people still wear a lot of warmer clothing and say they don't like colder weather. But I love Winter here, it's cool but the sun is still warm. So unless it's over cast or we are having a very cold windy day, I love sitting in the sun to warm up.
I want to know how you'd layer that for colder mornings.
Here in Qld, I would wear the pants, the singlet under a tee shirt and the thick jumper.
the only reason I own so much is cold weather, a toddler and a heavy periods. if I lived in a warmer climate and didn't have a crazy period and an older child, I would own at least half of what I own now.
@extrememinimalism and that's why it's so interesting when we all get to see what other people's minimalism is like, because we live in different places and experience different things. My kids and husband are not very minimalist, but we all do what we can 😀
Thank you for sharing! We decluttered a lot from our main bathroom a couple of months ago but we still have a lot more than you have in your bathroom. Love the way yours looks!!! I think it would be so nice to have the toilet in a separate room.
Thank you so much for subscribing and commenting. Our bathroom has been this way for a while. I find the bathroom the easiest place to keep decluttered lol
Hi, trying to keep up with your vídeos. Been busy moving. All the best to you! ❤
Similar bathroom to mine. I got sick and tired of always having to bend over to get the shampoo or whatever, so I got a plastic basket from kmart (with lots of holes in the design) and zip-tied it to their small black plant stand. It's worked great and no issues with rusting or water pooling in the basket.
That's a good idea. For us, I kind of think that if my husband wants something like that, they can get it themselves. Lol Thanks so much for your comment.
I've always wondered this. Does the hallway often have a door to at the end? If I can ever afford to build/reno a house or office, I plan to have the toilets (a squatty and a sitty) in a seperate space than the sinks and showers. I like like them seperate.
So there are 3 doors from the point I'm standing. To very right is the laundry and leads into the garage. The toilet is in its own small room and the bathroom is it's own room too. Many Australian houses are built this way, but many are not. It really depends.
I have nowhere to leave any jewellery..
Hi. What do you mean? 😊
Hello beke 👋🇯🇲
Great video
Thank you
I would love to actually see you in action during the sorting and decision making proc ss.
Thanks for your comment. The only reason I don't film those parts is because I'm a bit ruthless. I don't sit around questioning every choice. Lol. I just see it, know I don't need it and get rid of it.
The teapot could hold flowers?
That's actually a really great idea. I don't actually have a vase, and I rarely get flowers. But I have been drawn to the idea of treating myself to flowers instead of sweet treats (trying to lose weight). So maybe that could be the vase. Thank you!!
IF you insist on keeping the cake stand... jewels, crafts, lil toiletries, snack time, keys, etc.
Update.. we have been using the cake stand to hold fruit since I made this video 😊
I just saw the bluey plate!!!!!! BIG FAN haa.
Yep we are bluey fans as well. My husband and I always have a laugh at the amount of episodes we watch without our kids.
