Just now, three months later, realizing I never actually uploaded this haha. Throwback to when we were all young and pale! I meant to do a vlog series throughout the whole summer, but I kept forgetting to film after week one because everything was so busy all of the time. Oh well, maybe next year :) We Are #MovingInBlue

How big is the duffel bag?
7 years later I can confirm these tips definitely worked for me.
Was this your age out
Constantly thinking ab 4:21
Auditioning for spirit of Atlanta tomorrow so wish me luck everyone😭
How’d it go? I’m a little late on it lol
@@_Methhead_ I fell just barely short of a contract but I did get a callback for January🥳 tons of fun tho
@@Chicken_Wang1 that’s awesome! Nice work!
What did you audition for? I’m thinking of doing spirit of Atlanta this year
Is it a running joke in DCI to have tuning sequences that are just a half-note different from each other lol
I See Gunther. 93 EUPH.
"low-key injured, but it's fine"
I am mellophone player and really enjoyed your video. Some of your warm up tips are unique and enjoyable. I can tell you are a talented musician. I wish you the very best.
I watched this video last year when I was dreaming of doing drum corps and I am audition for jersey surf this year so hopefully I will be needing this video
Is this mid season? So many had release s kinda spoilt it for me personally.
I believe it was early July
That makes sense then. Thankyou
Yo is the hornline in the very very beginning Crown?
Closest book I've heard to R.E. Hendrickson's show. Would like to have seen this in competition.
I marched Just Another Brick at Hendrickson, I just randomly came across this in my fyp and clicked because I thought it was from Hendrickson. I had no idea other schools had also performed it, this is awesome!
Yes!!!!!!!
4:13 that car beep fits in with the hornline lol
Why are 3 dudes directing at the same time. Just the one band director do it
0:30 elephant
i've been seeing you in the comments section of pretty much everything DCI-related. Nice
@@shep7544 didnt know i commented that much lol e l e p h a n t
Extremely impressed of the level of difficulty of the guard choreo. Especially in such a small program.
2:50 what song is this reminding me of?
I’m planning to audition my senior year!! Any tips for me?
how have i never seen this video
These kids deserve props for just going on the field, because I'm guessing the logistics of creating a program for a band this size is EXPONENTIALLY more logistically difficult than writing a program for a 150-member drum corps. What impressed me most were that those 2 flags were able to keep their moves almost completely synchronized for the entire show. Kudos, a BIG pat on the back, and an "A" for effort for these kids!. This just goes to show what can be accomplished if you work hard and believe in yourself.
The cat was the best part of the video. He obviously loves you, and is a very happy kitty! I hope he doesn't get too lonely for you over the summer!
2:20 I cant tell if thats just an overtone bit the double g sounds so full
Her neighbors at the beginning 👁👄👁
Cool
Ok is every mellophone player a clarinet player?
As someone who just started mello and plays clarinet-yes
"Don't forget to bring your instrument" Me from across the globe: *sweating intensifies*
“Play as loud as i can, dont worry about tone” i felt that
I want to join DCI, but I'm not sure if I should. I'm going into sophomore year in highschool and I just started playing mello because my primary is flute. Would I be good enough?
Haley Svec Hi Haley! Joining DCI is absolutely achievable for a flute player! I started mello when I was going into my sophomore year as well, and marched with Surf the next summer. The year after that I went on to march Bluecoats. It’s totally doable, it just takes hard work and commitment to your goals. Feel free to DM me on Instagram, and we can chat more!
@@christinasieger5940 Okay thank you! This helps alot.
Saro i like
At the time of me watching this, this channel has 420 subscribers. Nice. Also I am marching Compass DBC 2020 season. Already contracted, but haven't started spring training. SOOOO EXCITEEEDDDD!!!
welp... not anymore. rip
@@DatOneGamer9870 Indeed. It's been a fat rip all year long.
1:21 ayee we made it boyz
Ima dis summer because I can’t wear sunscreen cus I’m allergic to it
today i lost my spot :((
I don't know how but I could just tell you were a mellophone the moment the video started lol. Thanks for the helpful advice!
If you’re in the Bluecoats do you know Samuel Crawford because he’s my high school band director
Wait what That’s super sick dude wtf
Hi I’m a fellow mellophone player and I was just curious, how did u learn to double tongue cause I just can’t seem to
Di Ga Da Da, but really fast. That's how I was taught. The last da is usually held out in practice
I learned by saying Da Goo Da Goo but keeping it very staccato. Over time I got faster and faster eventually just transitioned into making it clean. At first I was scared to practice it wrong because I thought I wouldn't be able to fix bad technique but that's not true. Don't be afraid to experiment with things!
why have you stopped posting? :(
Maybe you should try playing outside in the snow!
yo that s my band director chill on the side 2:45
2 years ago. Dang that show was good. I feel like this year will be nothing compared to it, and it will be no where near anything compared to another brick
Question. Will you be auditioning for Bluecoats for the 2020 season?
Wait dont they have instruments for you there during camps?
Depends on the corps. At most corps, especially at early season camps, there will be many more people auditioning than there are horns. If you have access to a horn of your own or one from your school, you should definitely bring it.
@@christinasieger5940 alright thank you for the info!
So nobody is gonna say anything about the sword in the ground
Man rip the 16 tuba line 😓
Are you marching this year? I didn't see you in a bluecoats mello section picture
Yes, but I’m not in the mello section this year! I’m on the conducting team :)
You should make a video on how you keep your woodwind chops over a drum corps season
Basically I bring my clarinet with me and tell myself that I’m going to practice regularly, then I only play 3ish times over the course of the summer because there’s absolutely no time to haha. Just a couple short practice sessions are better than none at all.
TLDR I don’t
When you came back and you started playing clari regularly again, were your chops just gone? Like did you become not as good at it? I want to march next summer but I’m going to school for music Ed with clari as my main so I can’t lose my chops. I’m currently learning mello to march
Angie Piracha when I get back it takes a week or two of grind to get my chops back to about where they were when I left. Lots of long tones and basics will help, and being patient with yourself. I will also be a music Ed major, and personally I believe the educational experience of drum corps far outweighs the slight chop setback you have to deal with in August. Drum corps had made me a miles better musician and had prepared me to teach diverse students, and those are experiences that you just can’t get anywhere else.
That’s awesome to hear. I was having some doubts but your situation turned them around :)
6:04 hurts in the best way
hey i was there 🙂
Hey me too
