Doctor Who Review - Wild Blue Yonder
I find a good story with the werewolf and got the werewolf action figure as well. Is the werewolf a monster or an alien?
The show Jack is in dates this even more than Weakest Link. It's called What Not to Wear, and was hosted by fashion "gurus" Trinny and Susanah. They basically styled ordinary people to make them look better
I like Planet of the Daleks
I like Frontier in Space
finally, I dont listen to doctor who reviews unless the person sounds like they went to hogwarts or grew up in the shire. I have no interest in American reviews
I agree that this is not Tom Baker's best work.
@@josephnash2081 he should have left in season 17
This is the worst classic story ever
Have you watched every classic story?

I give it a 4/10
Brian Miller the husband of Liz Sladen was Dugdale
I wonder if you have seen Blake,s Seven, and if not will you be watching and reacting to Blake,s Seven sometime in the future please.
@Eltonlaleham no I haven't seen Blake's Seven so maybe it's something I can look at in the future.
Jodie Whitaker is not better than Colin baker
So no real explanation about the random pointing or the medieval cloak.
It was a garbled/silly mass of TRASH.
Everywhere the Doctor has landed in the past got destroyed during the events of this episode (so to speak) Everywhere the Doctor landed throughout space and time, Sutekh ‘planted’ a version of Susan Triad. They all ‘activated’ into harbingers at the same time as the real Susan. They are how Sutekh destroyed everything in the past, as they are blowing the dust of death into everywhere the Doctor has been. I hope this makes sense 😂 . I’m also bitterly disappointed in the outcome to Ruby’s story 😢
I really was convinced that ruby's mother would be something more important after dressing like palpatine and that dramatic point. also still confused how ruby made it snow all those times? plus Sutekh clinging to the Tardis allllllll those years i think it could've been funny/better for him to somehow have gained the power over the tardis when Donna spilt the coffee in wild blue yonder as its the first episode we hear the tardis make the weird noise. I had so many good ideas for empire of death and with all the build up to certain plot points ive been left quite disappointed..
Flux is a fun series that works when you properly think about it, but War and Village are the best of the bunch by far.
The Destroyer is back!!!
I've found it interesting, as someone who picked up on the racism very early on, watching reviews and seeing all the different places that people have got to before they picked up on it. (I also want to make it clear that I'm not saying that my picking up on it earlier makes me better than you because this is the internet, and I'm sure someone will take my comment that way, just that it's interesting how different people engaged with this episode.) I do think that if they were having the 'can't walk' thing (and she was going out of her way to bump into things, not just tripping over something in front of her due to no practice watching out for things) they shouldn't have had the running, and you've raised a good point in regard to the followers. And then there's the guy called Cavendish who has somehow survived despite his surname beginning with C. Do recommend you rewatch it now you know about the 'twist' ending. There's a lot of stuff you'll probably pick up on now you know, I would say there's at least one thing in every scene in which the people of Finetime are interacting with the Doctor.
I love the faceless ones It is one of my favourite Patrick Troughton doctor who story I watch it in black and white on dvd

Imagine having a name like Ncuti and fooling the world to pronounce it like "Chew-Tea". I can make up things too. My name is Mike but you pronounce it as "Phil-Mike-Rotch"
Phasing out the doc...
I'd give Ruby one
They need to rename this TV series, because Doctor Who is already taken.
In the Tennant era was Buffy Who.
True Nightmare fuel when I first watched it on tv younger back in 05
My theory: the PM will return, he is (or will be) a future reincarnation of the Master. Ruby foils his plans in that timeline but I think this story will be revisited and remembered by him in a future story.
Or is the Minister of War.
Still dont understand the following:??.. 1. Why did the doctor dissappear?? 2. What was the woman/ruby saying to all those people?? 3. What was the sign language all about?? 4. Given she re-set the time line, does that PM now set off nuclear war?...??...? It was all a bit dissapointing. It seems a miss match of midnight vs turn left. Which were superior eps.
The character who does the explanations for the benefit of the audience didnt exist for most of the episode...hence nothing gets explained.
Only thing I know is Fairy Circle traps people, so that the fairy can be released, I think the doctor was unconscious in the fairy-world, because the energy needed to transfer, so the crack was the energy line. Don't understand the woman bit, was she Ruby originally, or did Ruby become her?
Tomb of the cybermen works by having them not being in much of the story, if they arrived at the end of episode 1 it removes the problem of getting into the tomb
There was no actual explosion in any timeline. The Doctor said that the PM brought the world to the brink of nuclear war, not that the PM actually launched. The PM did not have the Pakistani weapons yet, they were to be delivered after the speech. (Of course, the weird thing is that the UK currently has nuclear weapons, no need to acquire from Pakistan, unless in the future (before 2046), the UK had given up their nuclear weapons. From the BBC: "Nine countries currently have nuclear weapons: the US, UK, Russia, France, China, India, Pakistan, Israel and North Korea."
I like your theory about the mad Jack spirit escaping the circle. Missed Gatwa as the Doctor. But it was very engaging. RTD has come a long way from disasters like Love & Monsters.
I enjoyed this one , nice little murder mystery , its basically the bbc old favourite period drama.
Well, Eccleston return in Big Finish.
I enjoy this finale from series 1 still have the emperor and the assault dalek as well in action figure
I didn’t watch it. I was too busy touching grass
Crybaby.
Great review, thank you! Love to listen to you .
Move over RTD because Moffat gave the fans what we need. It definitely shows that Gatwa is a good actor with good writing and it has things that the fans loved. My favourite part is the mention of Fish fingers and custard still being the doctor's favourite food. Anyway 3 episodes down, 5 to go if it doesn't include the Christmas episode and got 1 good episode. Please do more.
You seem to have forgotten a lot. Rewatch?
These reviews are supposed to be first impressions after 1 watch. I will rewatch the whole season once it's over and do a full season review.
Love a bit of camp panto - should rename the show Doctor WooWho
I think this first episode of the new series, I think this was pretty standard for Doctor Who, where not really much goes on, and some parts of it were kind of didn't go nowhere, and I know that some parts were great, however, I thought that the Bogeyman was literally something that seemed very similar to something out of Space: 1999 or some similar monster from other Sci-Fi TV Series or Film, but I think that it was just too convuluted, in some areas, and I felt for a first episode, it was pretty standard but very convuluted at the same time, so I don't know if it will get better, but hopefully they will get better from here.
Jinkx Monsoon is #Legendary . They are a top-notch , well rounded , Multi-Talented Performer ... who happens to use Drag as a Vehicle for their Immense Talent Portfolio. ;-) I would Definitely recommend looking Them up. Jinkx is now Starring in "Little Shop of Horrors" off Broadway and people Loved Them playing a Lead in "Chicago" on Broadway. No worries at All about maybe not being familiar with them. There are sooo many people in Entertainment it's impossible to know them all. But this one is the Legit , Real Deal . p.s. further in the video I had to rewind with a Smile on My face. Massive Props for pronouncing Esthetic Correctly... Most butcher it by saying 'EsTETic' ... Gurrrl, NO. Just like it makes Me cringe to hear some Anesthesiologist's Not able to say their own title correctly. There is NO such thing as "AnesTEASEia' LOL. - That prompted Me to Subscribe now , Speak on with your correctness. 🙂
I loved the episode and all the performances
Based my experience, I am a Jinkx fan, but they are not a tremendous actor. I felt the episode avoided giving them too many lines, and that is why the musical scenes seemed so long. There was a lot of dialogue free filler.
This episode started off strong for me, but towards the end it really fell apart, especially with the musical number at the end. In my view, if the musical element was just a song from either The Beatles or Cilla Black, that would have been better, in my opinion, but I just didn't like it for that. However, I didn't think that it was a strong episode, but I am hoping that the rest of the series gets better from there.
I feel like the musical number was extremely significant and not for what it was on the surface. I think that this ties into the pantheon. It was a clue.
Maestro completely ruined this episode for me. One of the worst villains/performances I’ve seen in years. Felt like a pantomime performance in the worst way possible. Maestro alone made this a bad episode in my opinion. With a good villain, this episode would be middling at best. But all in all this episode is like a 1 or 2/10. Really didn’t like it. For me it’s on the level of orphan 55 or the tsuranga conundrum. Why was the Doctor so scared of Maestro? Felt unearned. Also why is the Doctor traumatised by the bigeneration? They didn’t portray that at all in the giggle. If anything it was a triumphant moment in that episode. Ncuti STILL hasn’t had a defining I am the doctor moment. Hated the musical too, haven’t got anything against musicals but the song was awful. Really not liking RTD2, was hopeful but it’s incredibly disappointing. To me it just doesn’t feel like Doctor Who.
Mickey doesn’t do much in the story and I find it underated
Swap series 8 and 9, and you’ve got my list. Love this.
Hes not the 15th Doctor
What number do you call him then?
What absolute garbage! Seems to be aimed at the mentally challenged.
Seriously did anyone expect a story called Space Babies to be anything other than dire. Basically, an idea that should never have been taken beyond a embarrassed gasp. I hate that such an episode will have a huge influence on new viewers that will see it as an embarrassing children's show. On that point of late many like to refer to DW as a children's show. I question this. Warrior's Gate, Caves of Andrizoni, Genisis of the Daleks, Heaven Sent, all of Colin Baker's stories and most of Capaldi's are not something I would even let children watch. The Deadly Assassin being the most adult in tone. More accurately DW is a family show which sometimes has leaned towards children and on other occasions towards adults only. I have given over three years of disappointed viewing to stick by my show but no longer. Life is too short to be watching TV like Space Babies. The constant nagging question about such a story is WHY? Please bring Moffat back and I'll come back too.
Can’t lie, I really hated these two episodes. Space Babies was a 3/10 and devils chord was a 1/10. For me it was as bad as episodes like the tsuranga conundrum, arachnids in the uk and the battle of ranskoor av kolos. Almost certainly in the top 5 worst episodes for me. So disappointed.
Do you even have proof they were bad no well get lost
@@Batman69356wow thought the dr who community was welcoming to all opinions. Guess not. No need to get so aggressive, good for you if you liked it. Can’t point to a single thing I liked in either episode. Millie was the highlight and as much as I thought he would be good for the role, Ncuti still doesn’t feel like the doctor. The Christmas special is by far the best of the three but even that’s a 5/10. How about you just accept that people will have different opinions. If you liked it, great but as someone who’s been a fan since 2005, I’d say these are two of the worst episodes since the revival. While I didn’t like space babies, it was the devils chord that really didn’t work for me, went in with middling expectations but was still incredibly disappointed. I do think a case can be made that the devils chord is the worst episode of the revival.
