hi. these houses we are building cost 1200 USD ,materials and including pay for 2 carpenters and 1 labor. the original idea was to get the community to help build each other's houses. but most of the local population are fishermen, so help from skilled workers are needed but still maintaining the equal contribution of efforts from the homeowners who don't have the skill to build. if we want typhoon proof concrete homes at this size, it's gonna cost around 2 - 2,5 US for materials alone and will take longer to build and cost more since more days and more specialized workers are required to finish it. posts need to dry before doing the walls, then if we do concrete slabs for the roofs to be fully typhoon proof, it will take longer. at about 1200, this is the best that can be done. the posts have concrete wraps through the bottom, inclined walls are aerodynamic. and the build is a race against time because of scarcity of skilled workers, small budget and another day not finishing a home is another day for a family suffering. it is still rainy season here. plus there are issues about ownership of land. because most of the homes of marginalized locals who can't afford to rebuild are located close to the shore, which now after the typhoon, the local government has just enforced to be No Build Zones. And, most are also tenants of rice and agricultural lands. sad to say, the situation is very tricky. especially for identifying those who need help the most. because those who have land can actually afford to rebuild themselves. those who have tricky land situations are those who need help the most. We are a very small group with a small budget. If we could afford to get land and relocate homes so full concrete can be done for people that are qualified then that would really be great. thanks for the question.

yes ma'am. that's part of the plan. Though we are progressing fast, finishing the houses is just half of the plan. and we lack manpower. there are only 5 of us in the core group. we need volunteers to complete everything.
