Ergon GA2 bike grips! First impressions and installation.
Просмотров 4,9 тыс.Год назад
I got the Ergon GA2 grips in the mail today! In this video I check 'em out and install them. The GA2 grips are for "All-Mountain" mountain biking. So essentially they're made for any type of riding (trail riding, MTB touring, etc). They're very grippy, ergonomic, and feel great while riding. Highly recommend them! If you have any questions, please ask in the comment section. Happy shredding!

2016 Santa Cruz Bronson First Impressions Review
Просмотров 21 тыс.9 лет назад
In short: It felt exactly like a 5010, but heavier, and with more travel. First impressions: The frame felt sturdy and stiff. The suspension felt good, bottomless, nice ramp up, no harsh bottoming. It felt much heavier than the 5010, the Bronson weighed in at 29.75 pounds (with my heavy pedals on it). My Kona Process 153 is about 31.75 pounds, so 2 pounds difference. I'm not sure what the 5010 ...
2016 Santa Cruz 5010 First Impressions Review with Fox Float DPS
Просмотров 31 тыс.9 лет назад
I own a Kona Process 153 DL spec, and I'm wondering what other bikes feel like. In short, I thought that the Santa Cruz 5010 was a nice bike. I would really call it a great 50/50 bike: 50 percent climber, and 50 percent descender. I'm definitely going to try out the Santa Cruz Bronson, as I felt that the 5010 wasn't enough of a descender for me.

In short: The bike climbs nicely, and descends like an All-Mountain bike should! After demoing the Process 153 (non-DL), I bought the 153DL. I've been riding it for 2 months, and I dig it! Here are some of my thoughts on it. Hope this helps anyone thinking about getting a Process 153. It would be difficult to balance my a7pro as it's a step through design, is there a stand for this type of bike ? and it's heavy at 77lbs.

Good video. Would like to point out you actually mounted the top bracket backwards. The way you have it in the video you're effectively putting more strain on the bracket because you moved the pivot point away from the vertical pipe and closer to the load (bike). Just my five cents. Thanks for the video.

  • @dolittle6781

Well, okay, I guess. I have a similarly designed one and honestly wanted to return it but I kept it past the return date. A very unwieldy contraption; noticed you didn’t show lifting the bike and clamping your bike down in the stand. Gotta have everything lined up otherwise the stand keeps moving away from you. It also seems like you have to hold the bike with one hand/arm and use your other hand to finagle around with the quick release turning and twisting it to get the right opening and tension to close tight enough to hold the bike where you want it. The heavier your bike the more of a pain in the butt it is. I would not recommend any stand setup like this one. Looks cool but the functionality will result in a lot of frustration!

I would be very careful about over greasing the ratchets. Use a very light grease and very little. Too much can cause the ratchets to stick in their toothed bore and skip. More of a potential issue with the higher tooth count ratchets. I damaged my 36 tooth probably from too much slick honey. My shop replaced them but said that they have seen a few damaged ratchets from that.

I bought one about 5 years ago. The plastic tube clamps break. I drilled a hole in the main tube and use a bolt to keep it up. The 2 legs are not as stable as the 3 leg kinds. Its fallen a few times. The bolt for the main clamp pulls thru the plastic. Its ok for a year or two but thats about it.

  • @TimvanderSchoot

  • @nedflanders5994
    @nedflanders5994 7 месяцев назад

During initial assembly make sure to use the two same sized allen wrenches to remove the REAR bolt on the clamp support bracket, the CLOSED hole on the clamp goes here. The OPEN notch goes over the skewer. No need to rotate the vertical post.

Purchasing a similar bike stand...from Bikehand. As for the handlebar stabilizer. The one end goes on the the clamp arm (not the seat post) the other end goes to the bar. To latch it around the handle bar it's easier to wrap the tab around the bar and pull the tab end as it stretches to one of the holes. Repeat the process to attach on the clamp arm. It is very useful to have the handle bar stabilizer...especially when bleeding the brakes.

First time owner of some DT Swiss hub wheels, will definitely do this as the noise is driving me nuts. And I say this coming from a set of Hope Pro 4 hubs which are notoriously loud, I think the issue is that the DT Swiss hub is much more metallic sounding than anything else I've ridden - and that includes FSA and Fulcrum which also have different pawl designs. On the plus side it's currently making me pedal more, anything to avoid the buzzing noise!
