Lavafalls or April 7th 2024 - Volcano crater turned into a huge lavafall - 4K Real audio
This was recorded at the eruption in Iceland that started on March 16 2024, at the Sundhnukar craters.
In the afternoon of April 7th, the crater broke up a bit and created this impressive lava flow down the side. It stayed like that for 5-6 hours until it closed up again.
It was extremely windy at the time, so my drone struggled a lot. But I got this footage which I'm happy with. The audio is from the same crater, but recorded on a different day what there was less. wind.

At 04.12 in the evening, the crater collapsed towards the back, and sent all the lava flooding down into the "back" of the crater. I only missed the first 3-4 seconds of the collapse.

Beautiful. Have seen several vids of this. It would be nice for someone to provide some measurements. How wide would that lavafall be?
My guess would be around 10 meters wide that top. But it's really just an estimate.

the back wall of the spatter cone broke off yesterday later at night (around 21:30 local time, Sunday April 7th) and the lava lake subsequently drained so no more lavafall unfortunately
For weeks the experts are saying it’s dying out and remember they are the ones who reopen the blue lagoon. Those people might be like frogs in a pot .

The first clip is real-time; the next three are slowed down even by 50%. Should have marked that.
I was watching the Hagafell webcam (Sundhnúksgígaröð Volcano Eruption seen from Hagafell) and saw your drone struggling to stay in place over the crater.
