@@nottimoto4468 yes at 35-40 miles and hour in a curve at a mall in Augusta Georgia threw me off 15 feet bike slide about 20 until it hit the club and threw me over the curb I had a AGV k5s helmet on the shelid flew off as soon as I hit the ground and the rear exhaust broke off when I flew up over the curb. Bike was considered total lost. Happened in Feb 2022. I was ok I had a backpack full of my work clothes on I always wear gel knees pads and I had on sedici full wrist leather gloves and a $215 Bilt jacket with CE pads and a Dianase ce pad in my back. And sedici race boots I just got a cherry on my calf muscle and my thigh and my shoulder hit the curb but the CE pads observed the impact. So I was blessed bro for real bike looked like tree stepped on it. I was like ahhhhhhh but iam looking at getting another one in the next three months. Thanks for asking was I ok.

That's a great question. I doubt the cart track requires SNELL rated helmets. I suppose the idea behind your specific needs are; and probably in chronological order: Breathability/Ventilation, Field of vision and Weight. My recommendation would be either this helmet or one like it, or a downhill bike helmet, something from Fox Racing. Here check out the (Fox Racing Proframe MIPS Bike Helmet Matte Black). dude i feel ya. But seriously, you'll probably get your money's worth in just how long it takes to find a perfect helmet. I'm 2 months into this and still haven't traded this budget helmet for something better. 2 months of peak summer weather is worth it.

Nice! Have you gotten any additional shields yet? Smoke, mirror, iridium?

They are pretty great. Obviously glasses come off before you Don the helmet, but as is with pretty much every helmet on the market, you’re going to slide your frames into the space between your temple and the pads; utilizing more of a friction fit for security rather than expecting your frames to wrap around the back of your ear as normal. Pro tip: use the oils in your skin to “shimmy” your frames on back into the proper spot 👌🏼

This lid does come in some select hi-viz graphic ways. However solid hi-viz isn’t available yet. Try white! It’s the second most visible helmet color. 👌🏼

To be honest I have a hard time recommending any thermoplastic polycarbonate lids. It’s in your best interest to move into a fibrous matrix whether that be fiberglass or carbon fiber or a proprietary mix like SHOEI and Arai. Check out my vid on the Arai Corsair-X. Thanks for your question :)

This lid isn’t exclusive to the track. It’s a great safe commuter with a sport focused design. So be mindful of the riding position you’re in. The 1400 does have more of a pronounced tuck. 👍🏼
