    You are such a badass! I've learned so much from you by watching a few of your detailed videos. I have had a few good dentists and hygienists in my life, and luckily, I visit a good office now, but your videos inspire me to do better. Why is this information so hard to come by in most dentist offices? Thanks a million for taking the time to make these videos, amiga!

      In my opinion, it’s hard due to time restrictions and the dental professionals asking the right questions and caring enough to help you it is sad to me that more folks do not take the time to help more often. I don’t want you to be sick and I can help you help yourself which in turn makes my job easier. The Heather you are, the easier it is to maintain, the healthier your body is and it can become pleasant to visit the dentist. We can then enjoy the appointment versus dreading it.

    THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO! 🎉 I went to the dentist after 10 years of not going. I had to get a tooth extracted. I went to a dental resident clinic. I got a 3rd top molar wisdom tooth removed. I wasn’t given any painkiller. 40 minutes later after getting the tooth extracted I was in so much pain. My gum hurt so bad! So after dealing with that pain since I know I will not floss my teeth I will 100% use a water pik.

    Great and highly informative video!! I am glad I came across it on yt. I was wondering, I have exposed roots between two teeth in a very tight spot. What are my options to have it corrected? I have sensitivity consuming liquid and when moderate to cold air hits my tooth. So far my dentist has only been able to tell me to apply fluoride tooth paste before bed however, that has not helped me and I am hoping to get your views on it. Thanks

    • @holistichygiene
      @holistichygiene 28 дней назад

      There is not a great option to cover it with a material due to where it is located. Your best option is get a toothpaste with arginine in it. Tom’s Rapid Relief Sensitive has it. I would put it on a pro a brush and place it in the area at night. I would also eliminate tartar control toothpaste, whitening toothpaste, sensory toothpaste. These all can strip the teeth of what you are trying to accomplish. You need to clog the pores to stop the sensation.

      @@holistichygiene Another question I had regarding the same that I forgot to ask previously was, if whether the toothpastes solve the problem permanently or are they just a temporary solution to exposed roots (no sensitivity until i stop using them)?

    • @holistichygiene
      @holistichygiene 24 дня назад

      It will not be permanent. But could last for some time. With proper use. Not over use. You should get to a point where you only use it when you need it. This way it works longer. Use a plain toothpaste like Closys or Colgate Cavity protection. These two are simple and work without stripping the teeth. It if it persists and is difficult to deal with daily, your dentist could place a varnish on the area or some type of sensitivity sealant.

      I don’t recommend Listerine at all. If you are brushing, flossing/using a waterpik consistently there is no need for it. It can destroy all the good bacteria your mouth needs causing more issues.

    This is the most detailed and clear video! Thank you so much. I’m in need of a waterpik or sonic floss, just researching which one is more suitable for me. I would really like to have a portable one so I might lean towards the supersonic. But your video really helped. Question: does the pik need to touch where the gum and tooth meets? How can it cleans the deep pockets if one should only use the pik straight on? Thank you very much!!!

    • @holistichygiene
      @holistichygiene Месяц назад

      Hi, yes it can touch the gums where the tooth and gum meet. You can lift the tip off, but gently having it touch is great and effective. The bacteria gets removed because the pulsating and pressure of the water create a vacuum in the periodontal pocket. It sucks out the bacteria. The water reaches deeper in the pockets than floss ever could. Still flossing helps remove plaque and bacteria above the gum directly in between the teeth.

      This could be useful but it may be very difficult with her condition. If she chews on everything, hand her a toothbrush to chew on. It will help. Using proxy brushes are easier than trying to floss or use a waterpik. Care for the pics themselves, they can also be soaked in diluted vinegar and water for internal cleaning. Can wash with soap and water. And are recommended to be replaced every 3 months.
