Engine Out Field Landing!
Просмотров 3 тыс.Месяц назад
I took off from Wilson's airport and suddenly lost all power to the engine. As the engine began to sputter, I realized I needed to return. Aware that I wouldn't reach the airport, I searched for a place to land. Eventually, I landed on an uphill cow pasture, where I lost my footing and struck the engine on the ground, dislodging the pull starter. Since the incident, I have repaired the pull sta...

Last Flight at Moonshiners!
Просмотров 163Месяц назад
On my final flight of Moonshiners 2024, I had hoped to soar above the clouds. The opportunity didn't present itself until my return to the airport when I spotted an opening in the clouds. Heading towards it, I encountered a pocket of lift that helped me climb to 6,300ft MSL, setting a new personal record for highest altitude. Regrettably, Gaggle failed to log the correct altitude because I forg...

You got to get the backcountry toggles. I just put them on my F3. I swear it is a new wing. Flying with the wrists turn in/out is so cool. Best 100$ I have spent. The stock toggles (I believe the apco and the gin toggles are the same) suck a big wee-wee.
I actually like these toggles Vs the Apco double toggle, I even left the stuff rubber in these, where I took the apco out. I might consider the backcountry toggles at a later date
@@daredevil-dave the apco f3 is a single toggle, not double
What is that falcon represented best by in ozone line? A sirraco maybe? And how many hours do you have as a pilot.
@@tango_sierra8608 I’m not sure what it’s comparable to in Ozone Gliders. I can say this is a Intermediate-Advanced Glider. I have 128 flights and 72hrs
Falcon is probably closer to a viper. I have flown a sirocco and roadster, the falcon is faster and a little more carvy than the sirocco.
@@AveryFlies funny I was literally thinking about just tagging you but didn’t know if RUclips worked like that. Interesting. I imagined something like the viper being super intimidating unless you are super skilled. Not trying to saying anything negative about Dave at all just feel like that’s a big jump essentially a spyder to a viper if we are talking ozone line. Mainly asking because I want to upgrade to a sirraco but didn’t want to rush into it. I just want more flair authority but I’m currently learning wingovers and I don’t want a spicer wing to mess with that progression or make it dangerous as I learn more
@@tango_sierra8608 the spyder (no tip steering) is a slightly faster mildly more maneuverable ozone mojo. It's not a huge step up from an A wing in my experience unless you fly heavy on it. The falcon flares and launches easy and is quick, but you do have to be a bit easy in the turns, it is sensitive in roll. A little more divey than I wanted, that's why I went F3.
@@AveryFlies gottcha. Well that makes the sirraco seem like a very boring step from a spyder haha. I’m all about doing things the right way and linear so I will prob still do that as my next wing but was hoping It’d be a bigger improvement. Like I said most important things right now to me are safety, getting more speed, and more flare. Working my way up to wanting playful and roll happy wings but want to continue learning on wings that won’t try to kill me when I screw up lol
Hey Bro 😂
@@bowwiz What’s up!
Looks good! Are you worried about the exhaust packing getting clogged up prematurely? I haven't heard anyone mention that, but it seems like it would be a thing.
I am a little, yeah. If this makes the exhaust fail in 10 hours I'll be sad. If it lasts 40-50 though, I'm cool with it.
I want to get into paramotoring. All these videos I see is people launching from these big beautiful flat grass lawns. I have a ton of open spaces around me but it's all farmland. What isn't is usually shitty pasture land full of holes, hills and mounds.
Nice work - you handled it well!
Nice landing! Remember, if you walk away from your landing. It's a good landing!
Those speed numbers are fast, faster than the F3. The fastest I have hit on the F3 on bar and trimmers out is about 43mph. Are the trimmers as hard to operate as the F3?
First, trim in for max glide slope. Try to restart if altitude permits. Then choose spot open, no power lines and closest to the road. Next check wind direction. If no indicators, fly in a circle if enough altitude to determine direction. U hit that downwind demon and it took u to ur knees.
Did you figure out what caused the engine out? I fly the exact same motor.
Going to be rebuilding the entire fuel system, will make an update after I do that.
I'll tell you what's wrong with the motor - It ain't running, fly the airplane and don['t worry about the little details....
Engine out on a parachute is not an emergency.
It is if you have a 70lb motor in your back and not prepared to land. You obviously are ignorant...We practice these landings for a reason.
@@HateIncorporated I'm a skydiver and a 10k-hour pilot. You are incorrect. It's very easy to land a parachute without power. They were designed for that exact purpose.
I would love to see you have knee, shin and arm guards . Thanks for sharing and best wishes in all future endeavors.
Where did you get that big poofy mic cover?
Amazon, it’s a Purple panda Mic
У меня такое же крыло👍👍👍 Почему не приобрели falcon 2?))
I bought a big fluffy “dead cat” mike cover on Amazon. It works well but from the right angle it looks like I have a weird mustache.
Hello, Your content is great but your channel has very few subscribers and views. I noticed that you regularly upload videos on RUclips. I checked your channel and found some problems. Your videos are not SEO optimized, videos are not using powerful tags, channels are not properly optimized and Channel tags are not used. As a result, your video doesn't reach the audience....

Epic day
Nice flight! Next one should be over the dam and powerplant. Always amazed there isnt airspace regs over areas where reactors exist...
Great job on the the soggy wing nil wind launch. That's not easy. Did you consider a restart in the air?
I think that I would have run away from the power lines for my take off, but that's just me wanting to live....
Liked and subscribed look forward to seeing your adventures :)
You see that expert kite handling right there? Wing came up into the direction of the river, had to correct it to the left and then full power. Ohhh yeah
You still got off the ground though!
More low needle adjustments still needed or fixed?
Happy to hear you were as excited about the wingtip touch as I was lol

what ended up being the problem? you going to aurora or purdins?

what's up with the 4 brake toggles?
Brakes and tip steer, makes the wing more responsive. When I’m trimmed out I can only use the tip steer toggle. When trimmed neutral I can use both for a more responsive wing.
Nice

That is pretty cool I had a chance to do that but I stuck to the airplane😅
Take off and landing looked good! I went from the Lift 2EZ (none R) to the F3, absolutely love it. What size F3 (22, 24, or 26)?
I'm not totally sure, Avery Flies would know. It's a school wing.
Looked like one of my landings.
Well? What did you think?
It was a great beginner wing, and takeoff was fairly easy. My flair was too early. I need to figure out why it kept oscillating the entire time. Maybe need to fly it only trimmed out?
