    Great info too btw! I would also add: -Brushless fans also seem to help & be a game changer for some people. Can go large single or dual. Pricey but works and eliminates a weak point on these cars -I believe most tuners can adjust the factory ecu parameters to get fans to come on earlier and stronger. This helps mitigate coolant temps some. So a tune could help -Also these cars are notorious for getting dirt and debris trapped in the radiator and condenser. A few times a year you should remove the air intake box and radiator shroud to clean between the radiator and condenser the best you can. Use like a reacher thing to pullout any leaf or plant/tree debris. Wash with hose and Simple Green. You can use compressed air or a moderate power washer too. But you don't want to be too aggressive and bend any fins. Not uncommon for people to find plastic bags or paper trapped in there reducing surface area & cooling capacity

    • @Mattsboosted
      @Mattsboosted 6 дней назад

      Great points-thanks for sharing! 👍 Brushless fans are definitely a game changer, and adjusting those fan settings in the ECU is a solid tip. And yeah, cleaning the radiator and condenser is crucial; it’s crazy how much debris can get trapped in there and kill your cooling capacity. Definitely worth the time to keep everything running cooler!

  • @gn4life84

    I live in Arizona and daily a C6 in stop & go summer 120 degree traffic with the AC on high. Not uncommon for me to see crazy 230 temps. Is normal unless your upgrade radiator. What always bugs me about this topic is when people compare coolant temps for these cars without considering all the things that factor into your coolant temps. -Ambient temp matters. Will run way hotter if the temps are 90s+ & gets exponentially worse the higher it goes up from there -Cooler thermostats won't help. Just slightly slows the inevitable. Same with "water wetter" gylserol products -Having AC on matters and makes the car run hotter. AC is essential in already 100+ degree climates. So its double gotcha -Load on the car matters. The higher RPM you're turning the hotter it will run. Somebody driving in low rpms for fuel economy is consistently going to run cooler than doing ANY type of spirited driving -If the car is moving at freeway speeds vs stop & go traffic it matters a ton. These cars need air flowing for the cooling system to work good and evacuate a cramped pretty hot engine bay. -Being heatsoaked matters. Doing a quick trip to the store in 10-15 mins is going to run much cooler than getting stuck in traffic jam for a hour with no air being forced into the radiator or moving out the engine bay. -Having a front splitter matters. The popular ZR1 style front splitters will block and deflect some air flow. Designed to be bottom breathers. -Having the manual trans option with a radiator that has additional cooling capacity for transmission oil makes them run a bit hotter too coolant wise. Radiator pulling double duty. Unless somebody has these same exact conditions and parts as you don't listen to them when they say "my car never gets past 180." Or "there is something wrong with your car." Make sure they have the same transmission, body kit, Ambient temps, turning the same RPM at the same speed as you for a similar amount of time with their AC on on a stock radiator before you compare & get temp gauge anxiety.

    • @Mattsboosted
      @Mattsboosted 6 дней назад

      You made some great points! So true-ambient temp, A/C use, RPMs, and airflow all make a huge difference. It’s crazy how so many people overlook all those factors and think their experience applies to everyone. Props to you for daily driving a C6 in that Arizona heat! 🔥 Thanks for the points man and absolutely spot on!

    • @gn4life84
      @gn4life84 5 дней назад

      Thanks & you're welcome. Being from out East when I first moved to Arizona it freaked me out to see the coolant temp guage like that. Also, to have the fans stay on after the car cut off. Went down many rabbit holes chasing a problem that wasn't there listening to people who actually knew very little about cars online. Lol Great video to help people not trip out like I did.

    • @Mattsboosted
      @Mattsboosted 8 дней назад

      Thanks a ton man! And absolutely. Anything 6-8ish psi will be super streetable. You can go even more, but once you’re pushing over 14-15 lbs the streetability and more so the reliability is going to suffer a little. Otherwise you’re golden!

Ceramic coated, tinted sides 35, back 20, front 75 for nice look yet great visibility and no cop harassment , Put the max din screen- totally awesome, led cf steering wheel, cf splitter and spoiler, black c7 zo6 rep wheels(more durable) stock ride hight with 245s in the front and 230s in the back so I eat up speed bumps and steep inclines, Bilstein shocks and stiffer bigger sway bars, have the NPP exhaust with mild to wild so can go stealth when needed, targa top and glass roof for convertible hard top and glass top experience, it's stock other than that so reliability is at a maximum I may do CAI and some tubes and any other mod that doesn't affect reliability too much because it is already so so so fun for the street. Oh yeah put the c8 head lights for more dope ability and visibility at night and those dope dope infirai tail lights and blacked out led side markers all which make the car look way more modern. The car is perfect for a daily drive car guys guy it is amazing every time is a blast!!!!

      Thanks, man! Your setup sounds sick-love the detail you put into it. That max din screen and the LED CF steering wheel must add a next-level feel inside that the C6 really needs. I bet the NPP exhaust with the mild-to-wild switch is a game-changer. Those C8 headlights look so nice. Sounds like a gorgeous car. I get it completely. Every time behind the wheel is just trying to not get a ticket haha. Thanks for watching man and I love hearing about your ride!
