Yeah it was all done by hand, nowadays I switch between a air polisher or by hand depending on if it needs a bit more pressure. If you want a flawless look you will have to sand it back a bit stating with 1500,2000 and finishing with off with 2500 grit wet and dry sandpaper

Sorry Chris I thought I had replied to you. When I did this video it probably didn’t take long to do, maybe an hour by hand. If you head over to Instagram and look for oatway_trucker you will see what I have been using lately.

For ALCOA wheels you only really need to use a good car shampoo, dry the wheels off then use a glass cleaner with another drying towel to bring the shine out.

It was 0000 grade. This was done on my old truck, I have a another truck now where I sanded it with wet & dry from 2000, 2500 then finish off with 3000.

On this tank it was 0000 grade wire wool. I have just finished doing my 2nd tank and it’s even better then this one.

Hi Jonathan Hunt thank you for liking the video. I only use a Fallout remover every now and then just to get the stubborn dust off, other then that I use a good car shampoo product to wash the wheels. I’ve not used any polish on them because I’ve always been told you could start taking off the lacquer that is applied on the wheels. When I polish my Fuel tank I use a 3 cloth method but using Terry cloths that are 100% cotton. 1 to apply, 1 to remove and 1 to buff off.

@@DARRENOATWAY no prob, I just order a product design to help get manky looking Alcoa wheels back to how they should be should have it next week and back in the truck that needs it to so hopefully I have them looking like new asap, started on my tank its getting there should hopefully be looking better next week to, all fun I wave if I see N2 at horse shoe

@@DARRENOATWAY thanks mate I tried it with just a normal polishing cloth and it took forever 🤣🤣🤣 will give it ago with wirewool

@@HurpDurpTV apply the metal polish on to the 0000 grade wire wool. Then rub off with a microfiber cloth Then buff off with another microfiber cloth Keep clothes separate from each method. When you are happy with the wire wool method, stop using it and use a separate microfiber cloth to apply the metal polish. 3 cloth method Is what you want to be doing.

@@DARRENOATWAY how long does it take to get it looking good? I started on the top of the fuel tank today with just a cloth and it started to come through nice, hoping the wire wool method will be faster tho.

@@HurpDurpTV do it as many times as you can, also every other day give the tank a good wash this will bring the fuel tank up even nicer.
