Since I thought some of you might be interested in more than the just my 505’s themselves, I’ve decided to do a three part series on each one of my 505’s discussing the story of acquiring each one and some of the work it took to get them running and driving again. I decided to start with my first 505, this 1984 GL TD wagon.

Hello uncle, i realy want your WhatsApp number please uncle 🙏🙏🙏
Hello, great car! Is this one the 2.3TD or 2.5TD? Do you daily drive the thing? Is it reliable? Have you tried driving it on alternative fuels, like wvo or wmo? Could I use a part of this video for a diesel cold start compilation? Thanks for answer in advance!
Hi, this car isn’t daily driven but it could be! It’s got the XD2S 2.3 TD motor. Never tried anything other than plain diesel fuel. Feel free to use the video.
У меня бегает 405 универсал 1988 г. в. 1,9 бензин пробег-7898! В отличном состоянии. От поездки только удовольствия

In French it is pronounce pa-geot not poo-geot. Low IQ types may continue pronouncing it as this man does.

Peugeot 505 s turbo diesel 1984
?
The most comfortable car after Citroen. I have kept one for more than 30 years.
Here in the UK the Mi16 came with bigger side mouldings ,side skirts and different bumpers than the normal versions.
So for America, they have to homologate bumpers. The slick mi16 body kit wasn’t homologated. If you look closely, you’ll see that these bumpers, which are supposedly S bumpers are different than the non mi 16 European bumpers as well. They stick out much further, not to mention the lights.
Lucky man!
The coolest car in the world! Awesomeness!
Why didnt the 605 make it to the US? It was more of a replacement for the 505, than the 405 was.
Valves need adjustment.
How weirdly located are the brake lights, all seem mounted on the hatch aren't they ?
Dated back then? Not at all. May be in 2023. I was just a school boy when this came out. Loved it so much. Even today.❤
Bonjour combien le prix je suis au Sénégal
Makes a point about the pronounciation of Peugeot and then calls it a Poo-jo
Had one of these with the three speed automatic. Man was that a great car! Got between 35 and 40 MPG on the highway, handled like a dream, rode over potholes and bumps like they weren't there, and had the biggest trunk I have ever seen. Seats and mirrors were heated. Sunroof. Lots of torque and fast enough. Hold the brake on and rev the engine, and it would come off the line plenty quick when you released the brake. Wish I could get another one just like it. Not to mention the elegant styling. Never seen headlights like that anywhere else.
Très belle Voiture sobre et tenue de route jamais de panne ❤
Do you still have this car
I miss my first car-my mom's handed down 505 turbodiesel(STI was it?)terribly.Pepe Le Pew was indestructible and seemed immortal. If you ever decide to sell any of your Pug 505 sedans,in halfway decent shape for their age, please let me know. Thanks and enjoy them all.I'm insanely jealous.
Thanks! I don’t actually have any sedans! The one sedan you see happens to be my fathers.
@@peugeot505man Some guys have all the luck.I used to buy Saabs-Slaabs in my case. Now they're gone, but I've had great luck with VW Golfs.Still miss the hell out of French cars, though.
Around 15:35 I said the XD2s was in the 505 sedan in 85. That’s incorrect, the 85 sedan got the XD3, while the wagon had the XD2. Not until 86 (final year for the diesels in the U.S.) did the wagon get the XD3.
Always thought this was Peugeot's best, though the 406 after it came close, when they really had their stuff together, to a certain extent they still do in certain models, moreso than any other make. Very Handsome Pinninfarina style with it's Alfa 164 inspired style. one of the tidiest 4 door saloon shapes then, and now, even the estate version was trim lookin.
If you want an even more Alfa 164 inspired Peugeot that'd be the Peugeot 605 (near identical side profile), which is essentially the replacement for the 604 and the 505, sadly they never sold it in the States even though production started in 1989 and Peugeot stayed in the US till 1991... Then again might have been better since the 605 suffered from poor electrics until 1992-93, i own a 1997 Model which has not had the best of lives and has started to decompose. And oh yeah the Peugeot 406 is to me the most beautiful affordable sedan out there, here in Finland you can get one that is still serviceable between the 1000€ and 5000€ mark for the more powerful V6 models.
🥝✔️
Most of the mi16's in the UK got thier engine ripped out and stuck in 205 gti's. Now thats a weapon.
My dad's first car and I loved it being RWD.
I love the sound of those Peugeot engines!
Same here, the clatter of these diesels are unrivaled!
Indenor engines are fantastic!

Everytime he pronounces the "Peu" like "Poo", a part of me dies.
Cool car, very sought after today 👍
Probably the best car Peugeot ever made, the 405 series. All engines were good and rust was finally under control. After this, it went slowly downhill, as went all car makers. Misses with engines mainly (1.6 THP anyone?). In other words planned obsolesence entered the engineering. Still, compared to most European cars, Peugeot quality is above average, I would say. Not Toyota like, but close.
This car was rather expensive in Europe. I owned its "nephew" the Citroën Xantia, underneath the same platform/engines. Japanese reliability from France, with hydropneumatic suspension. I loved it! And it came with an "intelligent" automatic gearbox (that was the only part I did not really like).
Rather 405 and BX share platform (the four-wheel-drive 405T16 even has rear hydropneumatic BX suspension assembly). Thereafter 406 and Xantia share platform.
Came here to watch this video because I just saw one for sale for 7k with additional parts car
