Instead he makes a video just talk talk talking about nothing. So many videos made by "audiophiles" are just talking. Without measurements to back it up, you should save your breath. Zero evidence = zero credibility. This is science, not religion. I'm just guessing they don't carefully study the impedance plot at high resolution. This is a very common method to find panel resonances. Maybe when they made that measurement there was something sitting on top of that top panel that stopped it from resonating. Who knows. It's likely inaudible, so they should stop freaking out. I hope I don't get "litigated" for expressing my opinion.

I can’t even listen to this whole thing. Tekton went from a company that I never heard of, then I expected them to sound like crap, after Erin’s video I was surprised at how well they performed. Now I would actively dissuade anyone from buying their products. Eric: your victim complex, combined with a complete disinterest in using respectful, clear criticism for a review really shows your true colors. If a unit didn’t measure as expected, the first thing I would be concerned about is if there was some kind of defect (Erin’s unit was used, and I’m not sure if the age was even disclosed). Instead, you immediately went out for blood, threatened LEGAL ACTION, and in this video you even have the audacity to imply that “no one measures your speakers properly”. I’m a data-based buyer when it comes to speakers, and frankly not everyone is. If you’re proud of how your speakers measure, you’ve done a terrific job of alienating literally some of the only reviewers in the industry that provide proper, trusted measurements. You are fucking up your business and causing a ton of harm to people that just want to strive for honest reviews.

You know the problem was I was looking at purchasing a set of Tekton speakers. I have a friend that bought a set and said I should have a listen. I was considering them but not now. What happens if I have a warranty return will he want to sue me? I can see that he would not honor a warranty based off how he responds to people. This guy made his company look even worse after this apology video. What a jerk. I can’t give a jerk my money. And judging from other reviewers, there are better speakers out there for the money. A lot better.
So, I was seriously thinking of importing some Tektons last year but the shipping and import costs were prohibitive at the time. I was still planning to do so at some point. Whilst I found their customer service was responsive in answering my various questions, various people were warning me to be cautious on forums. I then discovered this whole recent controversy and this video really put me off taking a risk on Tekton. Like so many others on here, I am amazed at the way he has chosen to address this issue. I also happen to be a lawyer and am calling bs on the whole notion that litigation meant a friendly chat between lawyers. We all know it does not work out like that. He should have taken a more diplomatic approach and essentially tried to discuss it maturely like he is attempting to do now, but I suspect it is too little too late and the damage is already done.
this is a good way to turn a quite positive review into brand destroying incident, the original quite positive Erin's review now turns into disaster for himself. Now maybe only his long term die hard fans will still support him and new customers will not likely go for his brand, but in hifi world, how long will a long term customer change speakers?

This guy is a wind bag. "I don't want measurements". Of course not. He wants to keep selling his flawed engineering to people with tin ears and fat wallets. If he had two brain cells he would know those same people are too busy shoving wine and cheese into their mouths to listen to or seek out the research of people like Erin anyway. He simultaneously describes Erin and similar reviewers as amateurs vying for the top review crown who will be gone in short order, while he's supposedly sold hundreds of thousands of speakers. Why the hell would he feel threatened about a small fry enough to threaten litigation, then? "Oh, I didn't mean I was going to sue anybody, I just mean my lawyer would talk to their lawyer." His "doth protest too much" response to this whole thing is proof he fears being exposed. Maybe time to measure some of those other speakers?

Just displays no understanding of why a free press should exist. Independent third parties are the ones who exist to do the fact-checking. That's the point. Imagine a tobacco company wanting to "fact check" third party reports that their product could cause cancer... by asking doctors to mail their pre-publication testing reports to Marlboro HQ just to make sure they're accurate! Hah! The idea that a for-profit venture should just suggest it's totally friendly and a nice gesture to have vetting/approval power over third-party reviews of its products is utterly backwards.
