    Well, just saw this.... I was at that match and I believe we were in the same squad. I was there for the two ND into the ground. Mine were at the TQ Stage and down in the woods with the Cargo Net. Yours? Getting ready to go to this years match (2024) this weekend! Sorry you found the steel to pitted, if I remember, did they provide frangible .223 for Hesco Shoot House? And I remember the Thumb Injury at the Shoot House. It looked pretty nasty with that jacket under the skin. Sorry I just found this, take care and I hope to see you there again one day!

    Good lordie these "brutality" style matches are silly..To think reloading a magazine is being included as a test of skill. They should just have you lift a 200 Kg dumbell. If you can't then you lose. That or make you fit inside a 12 inch circular tube. If you can't fit then you lose. Might as well keep it arbitrary. As someone that shoots 3Gun, I'm watching you reload, move, and shoot.. and if you're actually beating guys using an M1 Garand, then the average level of skill at these matches must be absolutely atrocious.

      The mag loading was definitely silly, but hey, something different which can be fun. I definitely prefer the physical challenges because who can say that isn’t valuable in the real world. This was a low round count match, and battle rifles only needed one hit, vs intermediates needing two hits. The setup really lent itself to this gun. As far as skill goes, there is a wide range. This match is more about everyone improving their skills rather than the best vs the best.

    I just got the PDP compact 4” and that mini wall is annoying. I have reached out the Walther but have not heard back. Is this normal for this trigger?

    Great video. Everyone is raving about even the stock PDP trigger online and even more so about the dynamic trigger. Nobody shows a slow pull like this showing the post wall creep. Honestly the stock PDP seems to have about as much post wall creep as a gen 3 glock. Kinda disappointing to see. Also, while the dynamic trigger seems to have a big improvement over the stock trigger, it doesn't seem to break like a carrot like some over zealous reviewers are claiming. Everyone just jerks the trigger from the wall to make it look like it. I bet they wonder why they hit to the left lol.

      As for the last bit, I have broken it it in with at least a few hundred dry fires and ~500 live rounds. The break is extremely crisp. It is a top tier striker fired trigger

      So what is your assessment when you compare it to the Canik DA trigger? Same, super close, Canik better stock trigger, not worth the messing around with Walther trigger upgrades get a Canik? I'm curious what your thoughts are.

    • @gammatheta491
      @gammatheta491 Год назад

      @@gjk50002 walther pdp is definitely a better overall package compared to the tp9da. Front slide serrations are a luxury, optics cut, and overall feel. When just looking at triggers, the tp9da trigger with the Galloway reduced power spring is better than the stock pdp, but it is neck and neck with the dpt. Wall to break and reset feel very close between the two. Only differences I can really draw between the two triggers are the trigger shoe angles, and the canik trigger is a shorter reach from the grip

    On stage 2 I also see that you could have gotten your pistol up sooner. You mentioned running a bit slow but you also could have been doing multiple things at once. You dropped the mag and showed clear while standing still (was that a rule?). You could have started moving to the next position the second you finished your last rifle target and while moving, drop your mag and clear the chamber, grab your pistol so you have it up and in your workspace by the time you got to the first pistol target. The best advice I ever got about competing is not to think of doing things faster, but doing them sooner. You lose a ton of time doing things in a linear fashion, one after another, instead of doing multiple things at once. You lost a lot of time in your pistol transitions-- you drop your gun while moving between targets instead of keeping the gun up in your workspace. It doesn't look like you're having problems with your grip or anything so how's your trigger control? Or perhaps your adrenaline is getting the better of you on the pistol targets (that's my problem personally)? I think if you rewatch this and think of doing things sooner versus doing things faster, you'll see a ton of areas you can easily make up time. You don't want to run to an area, then pull your gun up, then get your sights on target, then index the trigger, then break the trigger, etc. You want to get there as fast as you can with the pistol up, sights on target, trigger indexed and ready to break. The most fun part of competitive shooting is how much better you can get in such a short period of time at the beginning. Good work!

      Also I just noticed nearly every single one of your misses on steel was to the left. Perhaps your jerking the trigger, but you're consistently hitting left (9oclock to about 7oclock) off the steel targets. It looks like you had two hit low on the plate rack but the vast majority of your misses were off the left side.

      @@jasonsell8523 hey man, I 100% appreciate the input. As you guessed, for any clearing and transitioning other than dropping your pistol in a bucket, we had to be verified clear or risk a dq. Otherwise those tips all seem very simple and useful. Keeping the pistol up in transitions seems like a habit I just need to get into. And I definitely flinch and pull down and left as my grip and recoil control feel good. More practice with a shot timer is needed as this response is exaggerated on the clock vs when I dry fire or just plink around. Thanks again for the advice and looking forwards to using it this upcoming match season!

    As far as shooting on the move or shooting then moving. Shotting on the move is always faster. Set up a drill with two boxes and a few targets and test it for yourself. That skill takes large chunks of time out of stages like Stage 2.

      I do supply my own. Believe I used around 200 of 556 and 300 of 9 because I need more practice there. That’s a rough guess and from the stage that was missed, I used about 30 of each
