    I've made crisp ISO 25600 with my ZF something none of my 3 Fujifilm camera can do. The files actually looks more clean than my Fujifilm at ISO 3200. Plus the MF is miles ahead with the ZF and my voigtlander 40mm 1.2 would be similar to a 27mm f0.8 on a Fujifilm in terms of depth of field. I still love my Fujifilm gear and use it for work and travels but it’s miles away from the ZF

    I’ve been a Fujifilm camera owner for around twelve years now and currently own an X100VI and an X-T5. I upgraded from the X100V to the VI but I have regretted it as I prefer the V. Yes, it’s got IBIS and a 40mp sensor as does the X-T5 but the V is definitely better in many ways. I’ve wanted the Q3 since it was launched and had been on the waiting list too a year back, but right at had spent a fortune on a MacBook Pro, one became available. I had to say thank you but sorry to that purchase. Now, the Q3 is much easier to find in my favourite store in Glasgow so I’m now thinking about selling all the Fujifilm kit and buying the Q3. It would be the only camera I would own then (apart from the one in my mobile phone) so I’m seriously thinking about buying it. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

      @@macjim It’s a bit larger than the X100VI, but the images are fantastic. AF is about the same if you ask me. I really like my Q3, but I also use my X-T5 (same sensor) just as much. It’s a hard decision. If the cost isn’t prohibitive, go for it!

      @@wesleystreetshots frustrating for me as I want to get into photography but after a month of research in the camera market I see there hasnt been a new camera released for over 3 years from any major manufacturer. At any budget. 2023 and 2024 saw no good cameras released. I am not going to buy a camera now when in a few months a bunch of new cameras will come out. Crazy how bad the camera market is at the moment. The prices are all jacked up anyway because of shortages. Then will plummet when these new ones come out. Terrible time to buy a camera right now.

    I enjoyed your video and i agree with what you're saying BUT i think (especially for travel) you left out probably the best brand (i said it again: for travel). In my humble opinion anyone looking for a travel camera system must consider Olympus - om system. I ve used Nikon, Canon, Sony in the past. For travel photography (especially if you hike snowshoing, Sea kayaking etc) Olympus is the best system because of the size - weight ( especially size and weight of the lenses) and the best weather sealing in the industry. The 12-40 2.8 or the 12-100 mm f4 lenses are the best choises for travel. Also the tiny Panasonic 9 mm 1.7 is a fantastic lens if someone looking for something wider. The week spot of the system is the night photography but it's not terrible. You can work around the small size of the sensor with a good fast prime lens ( like Olympus 17 mm 1.2). Happy new year and greetings from Greece!

    Be careful. I took mine on a rainy trip to Alaska last summer. It was fine for the first few days, but eventually water got inside the viewfinder. It was still useable, but it needed an expensive repair service when I got back home. Water damage isn’t covered by the warranty.

    I own fairly complete Nikon, Fuji, Olympus and Panasonic systems as well as a Fuji GSW690. Fuji has been the most unreliable with 3 out of 3 bodies needing expensive repairs. Love my Olympus EM1 MkIII and Panasonic G9 and their extraordinary lenses. But the one camera that always delivers is the Nikon D850 with a Tamron 24-70 GII. I just printed a 1.2 meter wide harness racing print and it is fantastic. The Tamron 70-200GII is glued to the other D850 body. Holidays? The Fuji XT2 with kit lens- 18-55 and 14mm f2.8. Gliding into semi retirement I’ll probably keep the G9 and the PanaLeica lenses. I’ve been a pro for 52 years.

    • @wesleystreetshots
      @wesleystreetshots 18 дней назад

      @@agylub From what I’ve heard as well, Fuji isn’t the most reliable so I decided to take it out in the rain last week and thoroughly tested it however and no issues thus far. That video is out tomorrow. That being said, I agree. I’ve also found my Nikon’s to be most reliable and now that their AF is competitive, they are my favorite! Still love my 1970s vintage Nikon Fe that continues to perform! I def need to give M 4/3 a chance though. Absolutely love photography and don’t see that stopping although I don’t shoot weddings much anymore, I’ll always shoot street and travel! Happy New Year!

    I prefer Lumix, mainly because I'm someone who needs the best performance in dim lighting. The only major downside I remember is that the lens' selection isn't quite as great, at least if the budge isn't there. All cameras that aren't strictly Cine cameras got at least some feature missing in them. For example, no RAW, no stabilization in 4k, no open gate, etc. As far as I know, if RAW capture was more standard for stills cameras, we wouldn't need to worry about colors much, if any. Modern camera decisions aren't simple. There are all of these intricacies or aspects to a camera that need to be considered, so buying a perfect camera is a complex kind of thing. If only I could invest in a proper Cine camera apart from my current photo camera, it would be neat. The S5 II is worth a great value at a relatively affordable price, and that's important if you need to invest much into the lens.

    One of the best videos about camera subject, thanks for sharing. How is Fuji in low light conditions? I am retiring in few months and need a toy to play with. Mostly landscape photography since old people don't like to be photographed. And some videos as well. I narrowed down to Fuji xs20 and Nikon z6 ii but would prefer compact system. I own Sony RX100 v now. My lenses would be kit zoom and one fast prime for indoor.

    • @wesleystreetshots
      @wesleystreetshots Месяц назад

      @@stanleygabrel1045 thank you!! I would say you couldn’t go wrong with either camera. I’ve owned them both. Mostly shot the z6ii at weddings. It always performed admiringly indoors as did the x-s20. I’d lean towards the z6ii because it’s weather sealed and has two card slots if photo is your main priority. The x-s20 however had much better video specs, a better screen for video, and is much smaller. So for you it would have to come down to what you’ll do more off. If that’s video and not in bad weather the Fuji. If it’s landscapes or a chance of shooting in weather the Nikon. Of course the z6iii would be absolutely perfect for you if that’s in your budget. Cheers.

    I shoot slightly differently. I set my shutter speed and aperture manually and then use the exposure compensation with auto ISO enabled (matrix metering). That works quicker in most situations. If you go from a bright scene to a dark scene, the metering will move you to the higher ISO automatically and then you can fine tune it with the exposure compensation - which only controls ISO. It's all personal preference - whatever works best for you!

    Thank you, great presntation. I have full frame, M43 and point and shoot. Full frame, Nikon D850 and FC with tons of lenses, M43 use Lumix G9 and a range of lenses. Point and shoot use Lumix. Bought another famous brand point and shoot for my late wife,we did not like th colours, back to Lumix. Started photography around 1963 with Pentax, Leica, Hassleblad and Nikon. (Still have the Hasselblad and unfortunately (crying) my M3 single stroke with f2 Sumicron was stolen. (Still crying....). If I was to take out either a full frame of APC Fujifil instead of the Lumix M43, oh, just compare the size and weight .. Why not just stick to M43, well, it is not the resolution, as both have enough for most of what I would want, but, full frame allows better focal separion, commanly refered to as boca. I just love to blurr out backround when applicable. Actually, on film, the medium format 6x6 Hasselbald just blows everything away. So that is my take on it and am stcking to it, just dont shootm as I hurt easily. Have fun with photgraphy instead!

    I am like you with Fuji. I had the X-T1, X-T2 and X-T3 which were great for landscapes. I eventually traded them and bought the X-T30 II which I absolutely love for landscapes. The X-H1 is also in my bag with the battery extender which gets some use. I own the Canon R10 and RP. Eventually, I want to get one body, one manufacturer for landscapes, but, I haven't settled on what manufacturer to go with. I have owned Canon, Nikon, Olympus, Pentax, Sony, in APSC and Full-Frame Bodies over the years. Since I already have Canon FF lenses, although with R Mounts, it might be best to stay with Canon, choosing to trade everything for the R7 which has IBIS and get two L Series lenses. The 24-70mm and 70-200mm were lenses I had with my 5DMarkIV, which was my 1st Canon Body. I don't shoot video, so that is not something I care about, since my iPhone is with me if I want to capture a barge coming up the Mississippi River.

The glass is expensive and no third party option when you want something a little cheaper keeps me from going into Canon for now. I follow a RUclipsr that specializes in landscape. He’s the one that convinced me to give the Nikon Z8 a try. It’s a little chunky but I love it for landscapes. I took it to Ireland when I first started the channel. Bad video. Thank you for this video. It is very helpful for somebody looking to buy into a system. You made some valid points. For me Sony has the best colors and I even prefere the menus old and new. Their cameras are easy to use, reliable, exciting and are brilliant performers. The skin tones from Fuji look on magenta side to me and Canon is too warm (orange). Nikon is ok (on the cold and sterile side) but the newer camera bodies and lenses are too big and heavy for me. I know the perception of colors is subjective. We see them with our brains and how we perceive them is impacted by our experienced, memories and the places where we live. Looking forward to see more of your images no matter which camera you use.

    Buy one brand and stick with it. I got a Canon point and shoot in 2001. I never left, and still shoot with Canon to this day and made a profession out of it. Canon has never let me down and I've never had any desire to switch. Meanwhile ALL my photog friends over the past 20 years have gone from Canon, to Nikon, to Sony, to Fuji, to medium format, back to Canon, etc... their photography never changed even 1 bit aside from minor progressions from experience. Meanwhile they lost THOUSANDS of dollars over the years and I've been happily shooting along without any temptation from other brands. Tried Sony and Fuji, hated the bodies (especially the Fuji felt like a toy, and Sony wasn't much better, especially the back LCDs). Nikons are a step sideways at best from Canon, so no benefit. Canon has the best, most rugged bodies with the best ergos and menus. Their EF lenses work 100% like native mirrorless, and the R6 II as an example was the only cam in its price that has full frame oversampled 4k60 for video (S5 II and A7IV only have cropped 4k60) and the photo is way faster. z6III came out 2 years later and still lags behind the R6 II in many areas. Again, at best it's a step sideways. Brand really makes no difference.

Panasonic for vloggy video. Sony for the small photography edc. So my daily backpack has the panny and the sony in it, both with the kit lenses.(18-40 panny, 16-50 sony). These cameras are so small it's easy to have both on me.
