Not when mount is in Alt/Az mode, as this video shows how to use mount in Alt/Az mode, not EQ. Alt/Az mounts do not need to be polar aligned - only EQ mounts.

How is that ball head working for eq mode? Pretty cheap on Amazon.

@@petelopez5826 I only use the mount in Alt/Az mode. But the large ball head is fantastic to get the mount accurately leveled much easier and precise than adjusting tripod legs etc.

The HS300 is a really nice drone. However, I've been flying for over a year now and I've learned a lot. First, no, you cannot control camera angle. In fact, I had to modify the camera gimbal (which is not a real gimbal) to work with a GoPro, which was not that big of a deal. The HS300 is very stable and easy to fly. It is VERY big. I spent tons of time with the HS300 and had to install really good antennas on both the controller and drone, which worked great and I could get about 3000 feet distance compared to about 300 feet stock distance for the HS300 - cost was about $75 for both antennas). There are other drones available that would probably be much better for you to investigate. I've graduated up to the DJI Mavic Pro. The DJI Spark is fantastic and not that much more cost when you consider the Spark has amazing camera and incredible control, GPS, flight modes, etc. I learned that the additional money I put into the HS300 would have gotten me a Spark. The Spark is much easier to fly than the HS300. Fly time is much longer with the DJIs. I'm not saying the HS300 is bad. It is a good learner drone. If you are looking for a first drone to learn with, I'd suggest something smaller. If you want to shoot great photos and videos, get something like the Spark. I fly my DJI Mavic Pro all the time and it is absolutely amazing. The Spark is basically the same in a smaller and cost-effective package. No, it was not. I modified the HS300 camera mount to use a GoPro Hero. The GoPro adds a little weight, so I had to counter-balance by adding some small weights to the rear legs (washers and 3/16" nut/bolt). Easy to do and well worth the effort.
