This was a fun day. Lots of stops along the Oregon Coast from Central to Southern Oregon. Almost not enough time to see it all. The highlights of the trip was stops in the city of Newport and Yaquina Head Lighthouse and Interpretive Center. Newport was a surprise as its Bay Boulevard had many things to see and do. Definitely will return to this city. Yaquina Head Lighthouse was a surprise because we weren't expecting to stop, but glad we did as the lighthouse area is beautiful. It also had a fully cobblestone beach with tide pools, and a museum that had games to play as well, which we definitely enjoyed. We also found lots of viewpoints and stops along the Highway 101 drive like the Devil's Punchbowl, Devil's Churn, Boiler Bay, Natural Bridge, Depot Bay Sea Wall, and many other random stops. It turned out to be one of our favorite driving days.

The trip from LA to Seattle and the time in Seattle was so much fun, but the drive down the Oregon Coast was pretty awesome. The City of Astoria is a great stop. The city and the scenery is beautiful, and there is a lot to see and do. The Astoria-Megler Bridge is one of the longest bridges we've ever been on, and was rather scary with the fog. We enjoyed some time following The Goonies Movie locations, such as the original Goonies House and the Oregon Film Museum, which was the starting location (jail/courthouse for the Fratelli Brothers) for the movie. The Astoria Column is a great vantage point in the city to see the entire area. Beautiful location. The second location, the City of Seaside, was also a great stop. Somewhat enjoyed Mo's Seafood & Chowder, loved the long Seaside Beach, and really had fun with the Fascination game. The final stop at Tillamook was also a great stop because there is self-guided factory tour, Tillamook ice cream and food, and free samples of cheese. Yum! It was a long day, but a great day.

Welcome to our last days not the Island. We worked it out so the last days were relaxing while the beginning of the vacation was more adventurous. We spent much of our time on Waikiki Beach soaking up the sun. We enjoyed a brunch buffet at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki Hotel where we were staying, and a dinner at Duke's Waikiki, which was great. The boys got to do some surfing on their own, which they thoroughly enjoyed. The last day is always the worst as you have to pack and get back on the plane for a 5 hour flight home. Of course, Hawaiian Airlines in and out of LAX does spoil us a bit as the planes are actually pretty nice, and they serve good with each seat purchase. We did have a wonderful Oahu Hawaii vacation with the family. It was so much fun and we got to do so many things. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute, and although 7 to 8 days is a good amount of time on the island, we still would enjoy a 10 to 14 day stay on the island. Maybe some time in the near future. Fun relaxing day. Lot of beach time in Waikiki, great Father's Day brunch at Duke's Waikiki inside the Outrigger Hotel, and dinner at Paia Fish Market. Enjoyed all the various foods we ate at these restaurants. We also enjoyed some shopping at the Duke's Marketplace and International Marketplace. The Magnolia Ice Cream was pretty good, as I know that everyone loved the Ube Ice Cream. Finished off the night with some crazy fun in the elevator. After a long couple days of running around, we decided a slow Father's Day was needed.

The food court was overwhelming! Lots of food options but not a fan trying to hunt down for tables. 🙄

This was a good relaxing day. Island Vintage Coffee was a great surprise as the drinks and food were pretty good. We had a great time at the Ala Moana Center. There are so many shops and the food court is enormous compared to other mall food courts. There were so many options. Enjoyed the food. We also had a great dinner at LuLu's Waikiki. We definitely recommend. It was a great evening and good day.

OMG so much to comment for this day! Dimsum place was good, but after they’re done trying to give you your orders, they were pretty much done with you. I’d look for another place next time. Costco sells the main Hawaiian stuff at the mainland certain times of the year. I would not have made it to the hike unfortunately. Rainbow Drive-in was meh, but how creamy was the Mac salad Caleb? And DO BETTER Hyatt. So many issues with the hotel this trip. It’s unfortunate.

Fun 4th Day on the Island. The dim sum in Chinatown was okay. Definitely enjoyed the company. Of course our trip wouldn't be complete without a quick stop at Costco Honolulu. Got a bunch of great things to bring back home. The highlight of the day was hiking Diamond Head. You need reservations to get in and since we couldn't get an early morning reservation, so we went for the late afternoon one. Still a little warm, but much better than middle of the day. Dinner at Rainbow Drive-In was great. Parking is not easy, but if you wait, something eventually opens. The nighttime water disaster was not fun, but it was entertaining. Have to laugh at it now. Made for a very entertaining and eventful day. Fun Times!

The ranch was beautiful! How can it be that was our first time there! Aunt Patty’s was delicious too! Such a long day! But great memories 😍

This was a really long day, but an awesome day. The UTV Ride at Kualoa Ranch was so much fun. It was a lot more adventurous than sitting on one of the other tours. Really enjoyed our time at the ranch. Definitely recommend doing something at the ranch. The scenic views alone are so breathtaking. Next time we will probably try something else like horseback riding. Always enjoy stopping by the Macadamia Nut Farm to pick up a variety of macadamia nuts. We did enjoy our time at the Polynesian Cultural Center as well. The kids had lots of fun doing the various games and watching a couple shows. The buffet was surprisingly pretty good as well. Enjoyed the variety. The show - HA: Breath of Life was really good. Had lots of fun. Great day.

That was a long day BUT what a great day it was! Giovanni’s never disappoints and neither does Matsumoto. Locals might not agree, but it’s what we like. 😉

Great First Day on the Island. Lots of fun on the North Shore. Dole Plantation is always a fun stop, especially competing against the younger generation, though it's definitely very touristy. Of course, we love the Dole Whips. The Green World Coffee Farm was a pleasant first time experience. Really enjoyed the coffee. Hale'iwa is also a great place to visit as there are plenty of food options, including our favorite Giovanni's Shrimp and Matsumoto Shave Ice. The rest of the day was spent in Waimea Valley. The Botanical Garden, Waterfalls, and adjacent Beach are all beautiful and lots of fun. We finished the night with some very delicious Beef Udon Soup at Marugame Udon. This was a fantastic day,

I need to go to Carmelo’s next time we’re there.

That walk to the HA terminal was crazy!

One of most favorite places to visit - Hawaii. This year we are heading to Oahu for some family fun and to celebrate a bunch of High School graduations including Caleb's. The flight to Honolulu was actually really nice and it seems to be a new plane. So excited to stay at the Hyatt Regency Hotel on Waikiki. Had a great lunch at the Maui Brewing Co and a wonderful first sunset on the Waikiki Beach. The Stix Asia Udon restaurant was satisfactory but not great, but the Ice Monster Shave Ice place was awesome. Really enjoyed! This was a great first day and start of this awesome Oahu Hawaii Trip.

Fun Easter Holiday in Seattle. Great Breakfast at Toulouse Petit. Really enjoyed the food at this restaurant. The International District is always fun. Chinatown had a festival going on, and the Japanese market, bookstore, and food hall is a great place to visit. Also couldn't leave without stopping at Seattle's Best Tea Co for some Boba Drinks, and some Rice Dogs at Chung Chun's. Our decision to eat our dogs at the Gas Works Park was great. Such great views of the Seattle Skyline. Had to also make a quick trip to visit the Fremont Troll, which has been beautified with a garden trail set up beside it.

We love our days at Pike Place. So much food, but so little time. Love finding new places to visit at the Pike. This time around it was Michou, which has a large assortment of delicious sandwiches. We of course enjoy all the regular food eateries as well. Got to spend some time in the waterfront enjoying some shopping and coffee. The dinner at Fern Thai was an unexpected delicious surprise. Really enjoyed the food and the company. We also found a wonderful new dessert spot at Coche Valley Dessert Cafe. The dessert was great.

The Best Western Premier Hotel was a wonderful stay. Really enjoyed the grounds. The Japanese Gardens and the Koi Pond were awesome. Had some fun at the Capitols of Salem and Olympia. The Cherry Blossom type trees in Salem were beautiful. The tour of the Olympia Capitol was pretty cool. Loved catching up with the Haskill Boys in Seattle and having a delicious dim sum dinner at the Dough Zone in Renton. Also found a Snowy Village Dessert Cafe in The Landing in Renton. The dessert was awesome. We enjoyed our first evening in Seattle. Can't wait to spend more time with the Boys.

This was a fun day. We love the Northern California and Oregon scenery along the 5 Freeway. It's nice just to drive through it, and even better when it snows. Found some new and unique things to see along the way. The giant Orange and the World's Largest Grindstone were actually hysterical to find as they weren't what we expected, but fun all the same. The Headwaters was a nice scenic. The city of Weed was a cute shopping stop for us. Loved seeing the different covered bridges in Cottage Grove Oregon. Learned a lot of fun stuff. Also, the BBQ House in Medford was a fairly good BBQ spot and in a very unexpected residential location. The hotel we stayed in Lebanon Oregon was a great place to stay as well.

First day on a road trip and especially on the 5 Freeway through central California not always the most exciting, but we definitely find things to do and see. We always tend to stop in the Wheeler Ridge/Tejon Ranch area for some snacks or meals. Bravo Farms in Kettleman City tends to be a place we frequent a lot as well, whether it be for a tex mex meal at their restaurant, ice cream at their lab, or as we did on this stop, shop for items or snacks in their market. It's a fun western themed stop along the way. I guess we kept with the western theme when we visited Old Town Sacramento. We enjoyed our time there, though it was rather drizzly and we couldn't do too much. I think we settled for lunch. Wish we had more time there to enjoy the Old Town and find a really nice place to eat. One of the fun stops we found on this trip was the Alien invaded Power Market and Gas Station in Lathrop. That was an unexpected but entertaining stop, and we got some snacks & lottery out of it. It was a great day, but a long drive. Next Up we head into Oregon and find some more unique stops along the way.

Final Days of Family Weekend with Jacob. Carmelo's Tacos is a great place for some quick service tacos, burritos, and quesadillas. The food is really good. We checked out the REI Co-Op Store for the first time. Pretty big store with a huge woodsy outdoor area in the front where you can test bikes and other fun activities before purchasing. Kind of neat to have a store like this in the middle of downtown. Of course, what is a trip to Seattle without a stop at the Pike Place Market. Had to make the normal stops with all the favorite foods like Pike Place Chowder, Beecher's Mac n Cheese, Piroshky Piroshky pastries, etc. It was a fun family weekend. Sad that Jen, Caleb, and Josh were not available to attend, but glad that Grandma and Grandpa had some time. Love spending time with the boys.

It is 3rd time out to Seattle in 3 months, and this time it is Jacob's first Family Weekend. Mom and Caleb can't attend this event, so Grandma Patty and Grandpa Mark join the festivities. Travel Day is always entertaining, but at least we got to see Jacob at the end of the day. We enjoyed our morning trip to the Ballard Locks. Got to see a bunch of boats come through the locks. The Fish Ladder was a bust though because there was only one fish. Early summer may be a better time for it. Enjoyed the changing Fall colors of the trees. Also enjoyed some comfort food at Kiss Me Cafe in Ballard. Family Weekend began with a tour of the Seattle U campus and we found a not-so-secret Labyrinth in the back of the school, which was a nice find. Had to finish off the night with a stop in the International District at the Uwajiyama Food Court. It was a good first day in Seattle.

Always love our trips to Pike Place. Of course, we tend to hit all the regular spots, such as Piroshky Piroshky, Beecher's, Pike Place Chowder, and Mee Sum Pastry. We always find something good at those places. We did find a couple new places for breakfast and dinner. Really enjoyed our breakfast at Toulouse Petit. I don't think their sign outside is very easy to read, but other than that, the dining experience was really good. The food was definitely a winner. We also tried dinner at Cielo in Bellevue. It was average, nothing spectacular, but filling. Of course we had to say goodbye to Jacob, so although the trip was good, we were very sad to send yet another one of our boys away to college. Very happy for him and wish all the best for his year to come. Also, not sure that we really like getting up and leaving that early in the morning, but I guess it leaves the rest of the day open.

Sending our #2 off to College for his Freshman year was definitely tough, especially since he is so far away from us. Truly glad and blessed his big brother lives in Seattle. Travel Day is what it is, though we attempt to make it entertaining for us. Move In Day is always tough. It was with our first child and it is no different with our second. We did have a good day moving him into his new dorm, touring the Campion Hall, and taking part in the Seattle U Orientation process. Also, enjoyed some new food places, like Panwa Thai just across the street from the University, Pagliacci Pizza for some good pizza and salad, and some great dessert at Hello Robin. They use Molly Moon ice cream in their ice cream cookies and they bake their cookies in house. They are delicious, and you can mix and match. It was a sad, but a good and exciting day.

The drive from Seattle to Los Angeles or vice versa is not always exciting, so we attempt to find things to do along the way. If we can find waterfalls, bridges, or just things to do and new places to eat, we will do it. We found some pretty cool stops along our trip from Bend Oregon to Sacramento California. The Rouge Gorge was pretty cool. Definitely did not expect the raging river chasm and the amount of water running through it along with some lava tubes. Really Enjoyed it. The other was the Hedge Creek Falls, which was one of those waterfalls where you can walk behind it, and there is enough water coming down to get you wet on a hot day. Butte Creek Mill was a cute but quick stop and as Caleb said, he got him some pancake mix from the working mill. Found a covered bridge just down the street as well. All together, it was a good trip back. Lots of different landscapes. Loved our trip to Seattle. We will do it again.

It is always fun finding new adventures that we haven't done or seen in the past, so traveling down the Columbia River Gorge and visiting all the scenic sights along the highway was awesome. Multnomah Falls is a pretty spectacular waterfall. Very dramatic landscape. Stopped at a couple other spots along the way including a couple great viewpoints of the Columbia River as well as another waterfall and a smaller gorge. The Bridge of the Gods was another cool spot as well as the drive along the Washington side with epic views and tunnels. The other reason for this drive was to visit Bend Oregon, the Last BlockBuster on Earth, and to have some very much anticipated Thai food for dinner at the Wild Rose. Great Food. Highly Recommend. Another fun and adventurous day.

Pike Place Market in Seattle is one of our favorite places to go. So much great food from which to choose. Our favorites include Piroshky Piroshky, Le Panier, Pike Place Chowder, Beecher's Handmade Cheese, and Mee Sum Pastry. We continue to try new things and are loving those just as much. We also continue to challenge ourselves every time we go by eating at new places we haven't yet tried. This time we ate at the Market Grill, Michou Deli, and had some fresh apple cider, which were all delicious. Love going to Pike Place. Also found some delicious Hawaiian Korean Food at Marination around the Amazon Center area. Always love our food tour days, though we are so very full by the time the day ends. Will definitely continue going to the Pike Place Market. We highly recommend a stop if you're in the Seattle area.
