This is my first time hearing about any of this. I wanna comment on how well you put this together, but at the same time, I can't get my head around how much of a dick her father was being. I don't think it was intentional though, just overprotective and it was toxic.

I noticed "auditory halluinations" were a big part of Robert's illless and I read he "heard" the music he composed. I wonder if it was his mental illness or a strange kind of inspiration or he just heard Clara playing her compositions!

This was a fascinating history. It is sad that such a gifted pianist who started performing at such a young age, despite her early difficulties speaking and reading, still needed financial assistance from her friends as an adult, despite her successful concert career. And I thought that was a pattern of just US musicians, even those with great talent. Hopefully this will all change in the future.
