Documenting the reimagining and renovation of Plant Riverside, from a century-old power plant to a hotel, retail, entertainment district, in the heart of historic Savannah, Georgia. The brain-child of Savannah native, Richard C. Kessler, this ambitious repurposement and urban renewal project will be made reality by The Kessler Collection Hotels and Hunt Construction, and will become a prime destination for the approximately 14-million visitors who come to Savannah each year.

WOW!!! OMG!!! THIS IS AMAZING RESTORATION! WHAT A INCREDIBLE DRAMATIC PROJECT FOR AMERICA'S COASTAL REVIVAL!
Looking forward to your work in Fort Collins, Colorado at the Montava Village. 2023
Jesse Petrea is a candy ass who’s fulla s***. He is NOT a true conservative but a p**sy RINO just like McConnell.
It’s a beautiful location. I stumbled on it while walking the riverbank. I will stay in one of their rooms next time I visit.
jesse petrea is a candy *ss and a loser. This clown is not a true conservative, rather a RINO who’s fulla s***
Finally... a video that focuses on the men that make it happen rather than the pigs who sign the checks!
Shocked that they didn't claim he was a slave owner, tear the house down, and demand reparations.
Nice Reno
Very nice video and very nicely done. I have only one little quibble and that's the background music. The reason it's called "background music" is because it should be in the background. In many parts of the video it overpowers the narrative which then becomes difficult to understand. This seems to be a major problem on many informational videos on RUclips.
I take responsibility for the subpar mix. In the years since producing this video I have become more aware of this tendency of mine, and have tried to adjust. Because RUclips videos can't be replaced we're stuck with this mix, but in the near future there may be a full-length version of the Armstrong documentary, covering Part 1, Part 2, and the final product. Hopefully I'll do a better job with the mix on that one. Thank you for your constructive comment. In case you're interested, here is Part 2: ruclips.net/video/RCJf5oxF7ao/видео.html
@@kineticarrangements Thank you for your response, Mr. Smith. It's greatly appreciated. I've already seen Part 2 and was envious of the people who were invited to see the results of the restoration. I will be eagerly awaiting a full-length version that will hopefully include a walk-through type tour of the home. I'm thankful every day for people like Mr. Kessler who not only have the desire but also the wherewithall to save and restore historic homes and buildings. It is unfortunate in America that our tendency is to demolish older buildings and build something modern in its place.
Thank you for posting this. I am in awe at the beauty of yesteryear. Men were gentleman and women were ladies. Sweet Savannah has so much class!!
Interested in seeing the hardware store soon
Hi! What an amazing video! We would love to feature a few seconds of it (with credit) to promote travel in Georgia. Your perspective is so fun! If interested, you can grant us permission through the “collector” link in our bio. Hope to hear from you soon!
Just now getting around to sending you this video. Let me know if you need any other content associated with Plant Riverside Savannah.
This is how its done.
Amazing restoration... love this home and the history of it. Beautiful contribution to Savannah's history.
Have just visited and it is exactly how he predicted and even better! excellent job Mr Kessler!
wonderful upload William Austin Smith. I broke that thumbs up on your video. Keep on up the high-quality work.
Thank you! Much appreciated.
My highest complications to all involved restoring this historic property. Many thanks from Alaska.
I love seeing old homes restored to its original state.
Dear Mr Kessler and the Architect team, One thing that is rarely noticed on these types of high-end projects is that it brings all the trades up to a higher standard. This is a very good thing as every trade learns to "up" their game, making for better trades people. Thank you Mr Kessler and the Architecture team. You deserve a very big "Well Done". From a journeyman carpenter in Canada.
I will make sure Mr. Kessler and his team see this. Thank you for your supportive comment.
I am in awe, of all those who realize the restoration of our history is important. Such a beautiful mansion being restored.
To All, Job Well Done
We in Boston are hashing out a plan for an old power plant in South Boston. We have already reused some smaller sub electrical plants.
Thank you for your comment. It's very interesting to hear about a similar adaptive reuse project. Come visit us in Savannah some time. We'd love to have you stay at the hotel and tour the facility. And please keep us informed about what you guys do with the plant in South Boston. I'm curious to know more about the sub stations you already reused. Thank you!
@@kineticarrangements Thanks for the kind invitation. Should I get back to the Savannah area, I will let you know beforehand. I was in Savannah ages ago-Army, Augusta--and we got to Savannah, when its renaissance was just beginning and then to the beaches. (Quick story and i swear it is true. The wife of my army buddy had just moved to Georgia from near Mt St Hellens. She had never been swimming in the ocean. So, she jumped into the waves and came up sputtering and exclaimed in disbelief that "it tastes salty!!!!" ) I loved the city instantly. And the riverfront, too.
Nice job, Mr Smith--especially like your soundtrack!
Thank you so much, Mr. Winter, for your kind words. Music is my first love.
Long overdue. 🔥 💯
Great video,keep it up!
One reason Savanna is so nice is it was not buried under Intestate highways as were most American cities.
I love that this mansion will once again be a private residence. 😀
Very well done video. It popped on my main RUclips page and I recognized it as I saw it on a tour. It was gorgeous in person, gleaming pristine white. From this video, the detail inside is amazing. I should be so lucky to see inside one day. I love Savannah.
Nobody needs a home like this anymore. SO pointless.
No need to put it down just because you can't afford it.
I love this house. So glad it's being preserved. When I saw it, it was a law firm and I wanted to go in but I knew better. Just love it!!
Thank you Mr. Kessler for all of your preservation work. I smile and linger every time I walk by this incredible home-truly a gift to Savannah!
The Armstrong Mansion how much have to buy it for today
I am so thankful that there are people that will spend their wealth to save these historical masterpieces. I love the beautiful outcome of all the hard work. It takes a lot of money o do these projects. I am not wealthy or I would be saving History also. As an afterthought , try thanking many of the wealthy for the contributions they make to their communities instead of resenting them for their wealth. Please save another treasure.
I had the opportunity in 2000 to visit Savanah with my family and see the parks and homes around those parks. Such a beautiful city. Stopped by a fire station and a fireman was washing a fire truck and let my daughters sit in it for pictures
I’m so thrilled to have come across this video. I am a native of Savannah and an alumnus of Benadictine Military School and Armstrong State College. By the time I attended the college, it had built the new campus on the southside. I have always loved this building and I am grateful that it is being authentically and lovingly restored.
I love it when money and good taste collide. great job!
awesome....lets save all our historic homes throughout America....put artisans back to work....
I just love seeing the restoration of some of the beautiful old homes and buildings of my hometown, Savannah. My dad dated Ruth McGuire, who was a noted interior designer in Savannah, following his and my mom's divorce in the early 1970's. Her house backed up to the Armstrong mansion on the north side and used to be the old Savannah Art Association building. Needless to say, yes, her house was haunted.
Such a beautiful place great work ❤️
Bin to Savannah a couple of times beautiful city last time was on st Patrick's day was crazy
Oh I am so happy you made this jewel your home. It is exquisite. Thank you for sharing.
BRAVO DEAR SIR!!!!
Mr. Kessler needs to be honored for preserving this and other beautiful buildings.
How amazing for Savannah Georgia! What an incredible job on this home. I love everything and all the hard and diligent work everyone did! Superlative work! BRAVO!
This is a stunning restoration...minus the deer heads!
The good news is the deer head is made entirely of wood. Thanks for comment!
@@kineticarrangements Terrific news. Thanks for the reply. Look forward to the next video of this magnificent home.
Excited to see the finished product on our next visit! The long flight from California is worth it to see such a lovely town with beautifully preserved historical architecture.
Everyone always talks about the person who paid for the work, and that’s cool. But no one mentions the craftsmanship and artistry of the workers who created something that lasted and will continue to last because of their talents.
Incredible!!!!
thank you mr kessler.
Absolutely fabulous.
